Powerman 5000’s Spider One Calls Out Bands For Playing Upcoming “Herd Immunity Fest”, Nonpoint Drop Off

In unsurprising news, the upcoming “Herd Immunity Fest,” which is set to take place at The Q&Z Expo Center in Ringle, WI on July 16-18, has been generating some controversy, considering we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Among those who called out the event was Powerman 5000’s Spider One, who tweeted the following:

Nonpoint, who were scheduled to perform at the festival, also responded to Spider One saying that they dropped off:

Organizers have also addressed the backlash themselves by changing the name of the event:

“For the record the venues land can accommodate up to 10,000 occupancy. This is an OUTDOOR EVENT for 3 Days. We are only selling 20% of that so anyone has the choice and ability to social distance. The Festival is also not called “Herd Immunity” and the name no longer tied to any of our social media or promotion.”

A number of rock/metal acts will apparently be performing at a mini-festival in Ringle, WI next month. The event, which is being called “Herd Immunity Fest,” will take place at The Q&Z Expo Center on July 16-18 and the daily lineups can be found below:

July 16: Blacktop Mojo and Flaw.

July 17: Bobaflex, Royal Bliss, Thunderstruck (AC/DC tribute), ONE (Metallica tribute), and Saul.

July 18: Static-X, Nonpoint, Dope, Kaledio, and Versus Me.

A Pale Horse Named Death Cover Three Dog Night & The Cure For New 7″

A Pale Horse Named Death will be releasing a new 7″ titled “Uncovered” on October 11. The effort will be limited to 300 copies and it will feature covers of Three Dog Night‘s “One” and The Cure‘s “Prayers For Rain.“ Pre-orders can be found HERE. Sal Abruscato commented:

“It was a band decision when we were on tour in Europe and we met up with our awesome label and they suggested a 7” release. Eric Morgan suggested The Cure‘s ‘Prayers For Rain‘ and Johnny Kelly suggested Three Dog Night‘s ‘One‘ I thought they were great choices, a nice contrast of style and we nailed it in the recording process.”

Apocalyptica Share “One” Live Video From “Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos – A Live Performance”

Apocalyptica have shared live footage of “One” from their “Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos – A Live Performance” release. That effort is currently available as a 2CD+1DVD digipak and digitally. A 3LP+1DVD+download code package will be released on February 8. The DVD features the band’s set at the Finnish Savonlinna Opera Festival. The CD/digital formats also come with one of the band’s three sold-out shows at the Tavastia club in Helsinki, which took place in September.

Metallica have shared a live version of “One” from their December 7, 1988 show at Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, CA. This track will be included with the remastered deluxe edition of “…And Justice For All,“ which is set to be released on November 2.

As Metallica continue to celebrate the 30th anniversary of “…And Justice For All“, the band have shared a live video of “One” from their November 16, 1996 show at the Stockholm Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
