Blood Vulture, the project featuring “Two Minutes To Late Night” host Jordan Olds, have released a cover of Converge’s “You Fail Me.” You can find a video for that track below. Olds commented:

“The battle of anger and empathy in Jacob‘s writing is so beautiful and because of the dealings I’ve had with struggling loved ones in my life, the song’s subject matter has always hit me like an axe (to fall). Covering a band that’s still active and creatively thriving isn’t really done in our world, but I think we sometimes forget to celebrate the bands that never stop and never look back. Like many, I wouldn’t be here without their music or their personal support through the years and so I wanted to honor them.”

Blackberry Smoke has built a loyal following that knows and enjoys good music. We’ll be performing TCB originals and selections from a few of our heroes. Even at places like the Ryman, we will play some acoustic-based tunes, but throughout the set it is guaranteed to get heavy!”

    He also added:

“I’ve realized that this is where I can place my energy effectively now. The Chophouse is the continuation of my ambassadorship of American music. TCB plays everything from bluegrass to fucking slabs of metal. We’re covering a lot of ground; There could be country flavor to a song, but it’ll still have sharp teeth. We are looking forward to an exciting summer!”

  • Basement Premiere “Head Alight” Video

Basement have premiered a new video for their new song “Head Alight.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Wired,” which will be released on May 8.

    Vocalist Andrew Fisher commented:

“What started out as a love song quickly evolved into something a lot more ethereal. Alex was picking up on what I was saying in a far broader and otherworldly way. He saw it less in a romantic way – a more universal look at the idea of someone’s soul or essence being so powerful and beautiful you can’t look away.

This really excited me because it allowed me to get out of my head and focus on something way more abstract and therefore, hopefully more expansive.

I hadn’t really approached songwriting like this before and I found it really fulfilling. We were really stuck with this sound – focusing on the guitar leading it, in a very indie rock early 2000s thing. It just never felt right. The more we added, the less I liked it. John stripped everything back and it became so much more powerful.”

  • Devin Townsend Premieres “Home At Night” Music Video

Devin Townsend has premiered a new video for his new song “Home At Night.” You can check that out below. The track is from his new album, “The Moth,” which will be released on May 29.

    Townsend commented:

“For the second song we release from ‘The Moth‘, I present ‘Home At Night‘. One of the first pieces written for the project, it came from the difficulty of being away from home with young kids and a family.

The video reflects my relationship with the more ‘drama student’ side of my personality, with a healthy dose of the ‘trolololo guy’ aesthetic 🙂

Within the arc of ‘The Moth‘, the song is sung from the point of view of the antagonist on the verge of leaving for battle. The broader story will unfold in time (if people are interested), but at its core, ‘The Moth’ is a dystopian reflection on transformation—going through the fire to meet ourselves, maintaining equilibrium in difficult moments, and not letting our light fade as the old falls away and the new takes its place.”
