Trivium have returned to the studio to work on new music. Matt Heafy briefly commented:
“The four of us are back in the studio! Got any messages for us? Leave em here.”
Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear will be sitting out the band’s upcoming live shows after “smashing the shit out of his left foot.” During his absence, Jason Falkner will be filling in.

The band issued the following statement:
” BREAKING NEWS!
In the classic tradition of rockstars having bizarre gardening accidents, Pat Smear has apparently rung in the new year by smashing the shit out of his left foot.
This means he’ll unfortunately be missing a few shows while the multiple broken bones in his foot heal. We’ll miss our beloved Pat as much as you will, but we want him fully healed and back on his feet as soon as possible.
Beck and St. Vincent guitar wizard Jason Falkner will be filling in for Pat while he’s on the mend.”
Alter Bridge have premiered a new song titled “Scales Are Falling.” This track is from their new self-titled album, which will be released on January 9. Myles Kennedy commented:
“It’s when you realize the reality of a situation where you’ve been deceived,” explains Myles Kennedy. “You see the truth and how harsh it is.”
Mark Tremonti added:
“I was excited for this one. It has an atmospheric vibe with a lot of peaks, valleys, and moods. I solo over the bridge, and Myles plays the outro.”
Puscifer have premiered a new song titled “ImpetuoUs.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Normal Isn’t,” which will be released on February 6.
Maynard James Keenan commented on the single:
“I’m looking forward to hearing where this song takes people. As the writers, we forget that in a way, we are carpenters and that we’ve been with this song since it was a pile of lumber. Our Perspective may differ from the final occupant of this space we’ve constructed. Shelter, Bridge or Gallows, Coffin? Curious to find out.”
A press release also added the following about the visualizer:
“The accompanying visualizer offers a first look at the Puscifer comic book series, ‘Tales From The Pusciverse.’ The debut issue spotlights the character Bellendia Black, originally introduced in the ‘Pendulum’ video. Additional details about the series, launching in tandem with ‘Normal Isn’t,’ will be announced soon.”
