“‘Bomb To A Knife Fight’ was the first song we completed after finishing our first-ever tour with Deftones and IDLES. “‘In Darkness’ is about growing up feeling distant from everyone, a song about anxiety and being an outcast (as many of us metal fans grow from). It’s a song about embracing that outlandish and ostracized feeling. Knowing that we have grown in the shadows, the darkness of the world, but accepting that through that darkness we have become.”

  • NOFX Guitarist Eric Melvin Files Lawsuit Against Frontman Fat Mike For “Financial Malfeasance”

NOFX guitarist Eric Melvin has filed a lawsuit against bassist/vocalist Fat Mike. He made the move after accusing the frontman of “financial malfeasance.”

Drummer Erik Sandin said the following about the legal dispute during a recent roundtable discussion at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas, NV:

“Eric Melvin is not here today with us because of the following reason: at 8am on [October 7, 2024], after the final NOFX show ever, Eric Melvin’s lawyers served Fat Mike legal papers accusing him of financial malfeasance. Ten hours earlier we finished playing the final show of our 42-year career. It was the most amazing and emotional send-off ever, nothing but love, family, tears and love. That letter broke my heart, as well as the rest of the band and the crew. It still hurts today, and it hurts right now saying it.

Melvin has made it clear, and perfectly clear, on this matter that to talk about it with him, or anybody, it must go through his counsel. I’ve known Mike for 43 years – I knew him for a year before NOFX: Mike is a lot of things, we all know that, he’s a complicated person, but he is not a thief. I will go on record saying he is not a thief.

We hope this gets resolved soon. But until then, here we are, and it is what it is. And for the obvious reasons we can not, and will not, discuss any further.”

  • Flesh Parade Bassist Jorge Caicedo Passes Away

Flesh Parade bassist Jorge Caicedo has sadly passed away. He died following a battle with an undisclosed condition.

    Guitarist Rene Perez commented:

“It is with great sorrow and pain that we say goodbye to our friend, family and overall great person. Jorge Caicedo, our bass player, has passed away this morning with family by his side. We are devastated beyond belief. This past tour was bittersweet, but I’m glad I hung onto all the memories real tight. We all knew what we was struggling with, but kept his condition private. Watching him enjoy himself last year was a gift that I’m proud we were able to give him. I’ll leave you with this image of Jorge chatting with RJ from Luicidal/Suicidal. He was so happy. That smile is how I will remember him from now on. RIP brother, RENEPALM“
