  • Guilt Trip Release New EP “God Forgives”

Guilt Trip have released a new EP titled “God Forgives.” The effort features three tracks including “Dirt,” “Angel Eyes,” and a new mix of “Burn.” A video for “Dirt” and “Angel Eyes” can be found below:

Vocalist Jay Valentine commented on the EP:

“‘God Forgives‘ is a culmination of progress and the embodiment of Guilt Trip‘s identity, whilst consciously trying to build on the style and songwriting on Severance we are yet embracing and moving with the sound we achieved on that record. The songs were written with one thing in mind: ‘Make it better’ and we hope we have hit the mark for every Guilt Trip fan out there.”

He also added the following about the video:

“It was birthed by a mix of transitioning lyrical themes into visuals and original ideas that we felt best represented the subject matter metaphorically. We wanted to show something other than just a live performance — a story that could entertain while relating to the music and still convey a message but be open enough for the watcher to make their own interpretations.”

  • Behemoth Comment On Cancelled Turkish Shows

As previously reported, Behemoth and Slaughter To Prevail’s shows in Turkey were recently cancelled due to “incompatibility with [their] societal values.” Slaughter To Prevail previously condemned the cancellation of their show and Behemoth have since done the same, saying “this is another example of ideology being used to suppress artistic expression.”

    Here’s Behemoth’s full statement:

“To our fans in Istanbul and Ankara, we are deeply disappointed to confirm that our scheduled performances in Turkey have been cancelled. Despite exhausting every possible avenue throughout the day and engaging in extensive discussions, the decision from the local authorities remains final. There is simply nothing further we can do to overturn it.

The cancellations come after pressure from religious groups who have characterized our art as satanic propaganda and deemed it unacceptable. This is another example of ideology being used to suppress artistic expression and restrict cultural freedom. Behemoth has always stood for creative independence and the right of artists to express themselves without censorship. Music is not a threat, but silencing it should concern anyone who values freedom of expression.

To those who planned to attend, who travelled, and who stood ready to share this night with us, we are truly sorry. We fought to make these shows happen and we share your frustration and disappointment. Turkey has some of the most passionate and dedicated fans in the world and we hope the day will come when we can return to Istanbul and Ankara and perform for you without interference. Until then, thank you for your unwavering support.”

“The hits keep coming, and coming, and coming, and smashing your car into a twisted chrome and steel tomb in our latest single, ‘The Iron Graveyard.’ Put the pedal to the metal and jam this during the commute to your daily grind while dodging the road-raging maniacs all around you on the highway. After listening, we think you’ll agree that the local street cleaner is grossly underpaid for all the gore and carnage they have to clear from the benighted streets of America.”

  • Melvins And Napalm Death To Release New Album “Savage Imperial Death March” In April

    04. “Nine Days Of Rain”
    05. “Rip The God”
    06. “Stealing Horses”
    07. “Comparison Is The Thief Of Joy”
    08. “Death Hour”

    Napalm Death’s Shane Embury commented:

“I have loved the Melvins forever and their outlook on music. A chance to make an album of eclectic musical madness with them was truly an honour and a whole lot of fun, which surely is the whole point! Let’s do another one soon.”

    Melvins’ Buzz Osborne continued:

“Napalm Death are one of my favorite bands ever. It was an absolute pleasure and a dream come true to do this collaboration with them. We wrote songs together. I would write a riff and we would learn it and record it right there. They wrote stuff and we would learn it immediately as well. It was truly a 50/50 partnership.”

Napalm Death’s Mark “Barney” Greenway added:

“Funny how life turns out sometimes… collecting hard-to-find Melvins 7-inches on Bleecker Street in 1989 and then touring twice and doing an album with them within the following 35 years. Had a great time with it all, and nice to work with fellow travelers in the Melvins who also couldn’t care about pandering to ‘demographics.’ I felt myself almost babbling lyrically during the recording, and that alone made for very fun recording times.”
