    Phil Anselmo:

    “We were all excited about this. There was a sense of lightness in the air. Everyone’s attitude was positive. There was more focus than ever. It just felt fresh again. Each one of us was individually striving for something, and I believe we achieved what we wanted to achieve. The record is a journey. It’s classic Down, but it’s also unique.”

    Kirk Windstein:

    “Everybody played their asses off, wrote great riffs, and Philip is singing amazing. There’s so much electricity when we get together. To me, it’s the same vibe as our debut NOLA, but we’ve got another 35 years of experience as songwriters.”

    Pepper Keenan:

    “The five of us are from the same era, grew up together, and accomplished a lot on our own. We all sounded different, but we’re still from the same 20-block radius. As far as what makes Down special, we knew one another before any of us had done anything. There’s history.”

    A new video for the first single, “Blood Oath,” can be found below. Anselmo also commented on that track:

    “Anybody who’s from New Orleans is going to get a kick out of the references to the city. Musically, it’s got a big hook. It’s a Down song, but it takes a turn.”

    Keenan added:

    “You’ll know it’s own right off the fucking bat. It’s heavy in its attack.”

  • BREACH (Comeback Kid, Etc.) Sign With Greyscale Records, Premiere “PARASITE” Video

    BREACH (Comeback Kid, etc.) have signed a new deal with Greyscale Records. The label will handle the release of the band’s upcoming EP. A video for the first single, “PARASITE,” can be found below:

    The group commented on their new label:

    “With a roster full of heavy artists that we all love and respect, and a glowing recommendation from people we trust, it felt like exactly the relationship we wanted with a label.”

    A press release added the following about the song:

    “‘PARASITE‘ is a brutal first taste of what’s to come, addressing a toxic person who repeatedly forces their way back into someone’s life, feeding on their vulnerability. The parasite thrives on deception, manipulation, and shattering of confidence, leaving those around them weakened; feeling self empowered by diminishing everyone else. The song explores emotional abuse and the unbearable feeling of being put down by someone you love.”

  • Haywire Postpone Australian Tour

    Haywire have postponed their Australian tour due to visa issues. The band commented:

    “It’s with great sadness I must announce we have to postpone our Australia trip because of visa issues. We will be re-scheduling for sometime between November 18th & December 6th. All ticket companies will be emailing you about what to do moving forward. We will be back at that time no questions asked. If you have any additional questions email the ticketing companies.”

  • Demon Hunter File Lawsuit Against Netflix Over “KPop Demon Hunters” Trademark

    Demon Hunter have filed a lawsuit against Netflix, Netflix Studios, and AEG Presents over the “KPop Demon Hunters” trademark. The complaint was made through the band’s corporation Hyde Lane, who claim the name is causing confusion.

    The suit, which was obtained by Complex, alleges the film infringed upon the band’s trademark and created unfair competition and brand confusion. The group are especially concerned with the “KPop Demon Hunters” live tour, which causes “almost complete overlap” with their goods and services.

    The complaint shared one example in which one person spent $500 on tickets for Demon Hunter’s Albany, NY without realizing it was unrelated to “KPop Demon Hunters.” That case resulted in a refund request. The suit went on to say that the defendants are “massive companies that jealously guard and enforce their own intellectual property rights willfully disregarding the rights of others in pursuit of profits.”

    Hyde Lane are currently seeking a trial by jury, a restoration of their “rightful interests,” and “restitution and treble damages.” They also want to prevent Netflix from using the “KPop Demon Hunters” name.

    For their part, Netflix responded with the following:

    “These allegations are without merit. Netflix has created an Academy Award winning global phenomenon with KPop Demon Hunters that has inspired fans around the world with its powerful music, storytelling, and characters. We look forward to vigorously defending this matter.”

  • With A Vengeance Announce New Tracks “Oblivion” And “Bad Boys”

    With A Vengeance, the new band featuring singer Tommy Vext (ex-Bad Wolves), guitarist Chris Cain (ex-Bad Wolves), guitarist Angel Vivaldi, drummer Austin D’Amond (Chimaira), and bassist Xander Raymond Charles, have announced two new tracks, “Oblivion” and “Bad Boys.” “Oblivion” is the band’s next official single and it will arrive on October 2. Prior to that, the group will be sending out “Bad Boys” to mailing list subscribers on August 28.
