Hansi Kürsch Exits Demons & Wizards

Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) has officially announced his departure from Demons & Wizards. The frontman’s exit comes after his bandmate Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) was arrested due to his involvement in the treasonous pro-Trump insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Kürsch told RockHard the following:

“I told Jon and Century Media on Monday that I was leaving the Demons & Wizards project with immediate effect. My collaboration with Jon in Demons & Wizards is over.”

Iced Earth And Demons & Wizards No Longer Appear On Century Media Records’ Artist Roster

It looks like Iced Earth and Demons & Wizards have both been dropped from Century Media Records due to Jon Schaffer’s involvement in the treasonous pro-Trump insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. There has been no official announcement, but both bands are no longer featured on the label’s artist roster. This news comes after Schaffer was recently arrested by the FBI. He is currently facing six charges.

Demons & Wizards Premiere “Wolves In Winter” Music Video

Demons & Wizards, the band featuring Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch and Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer, have premiered a new video for their new song “Wolves In Winter.” This track is from the group’s new album “III,” which will be released on February 21.

Schaffer commented:

“I’m not sure why the title of this song came to me so strongly when I wrote and arranged the music. But it certainly did. I even put the wolves howling part on the pre-production demo before I had written any lyrics or heard any vocal melodies from Hansi.

It is about embracing the beast that lies within us all. At any rate, it’s a cool song with a big hooky chorus. My favorite part is the verse riff, though. It just sounds heavy and intense, and you can’t go wrong with that combination.”

Kürsch added:

“‘Wolves In Winter’ is definitely a tune you want to hear live and even more than hearing it, you want to sing along with it immediately. Feel free to rehearse in front of your speakers!”

Demons & Wizards Premiere New Song “Midas Disease”

Demons & Wizards, the band featuring Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch and Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer, have premiered a new song titled “Midas Disease.” This track is from the group’s new album “III,” which will be released on February 21.

Kürsch commented:

“Meanwhile, you all should have heard the epic ‘Diabolic’, and as second impression of ‘III’, we offer you the complete opposite now: the four and a half minutes of ‘Midas Disease’! The song reminds me of one of these good old hard rock bands, playing on and on for more than 40 years, I guess you’ll know whom I refer to once you hear it. ‘Midas Disease’ has a cunning vibe, which I absolutely love. It is pure honesty.”

Schaffer added:

“I had a working title of ‘Unbroken’ for this song, and when I sent it to Hansi, he instantly liked it. We both feel it added a totally different dimension to an already very diverse album. It’s straight-up fists-in-the-air hard rock/heavy metal song, which was certainly inspired by the riffing and rhythmic abilities of Malcolm Young and I personally dedicate it to his memory. You are missed, Sir Malcolm!”

Demons & Wizards Premiere “Diabolic” Music Video

Demons & Wizards, the band featuring Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch and Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer, have premiered a new video for their new song “Diabolic.” This track is from the group’s new album “III,” which will be released on February 21.

Kürsch commented:

“‘Diabolic’ for sure is a musical statement and its message is very clear and precise: we take no prisoners! We had a hard time figuring out a proper opener to ‘III’, but when ‘Diabolic’ took shape, we realized it was the perfect introduction to the album.”

Schaffer added:

“This song is a sequel to ‘Heaven Denies’ and it is dark, heavy, vicious, melodic, and totally atmospheric, everything I love about songwriting and making records in eight minutes. ‘Diabolic’ has the right attitude to make a strong statement as the first song that people will hear after 15 years.”

01. “Diabolic”
02. “Invincible”
03. “Wolves in Winter”
