Napalm Death Sign New Deal With Century Media Records

Napalm Death have signed a new deal with Century Media Records. The deal will extend the lengthy partnership between the two parties.

Mark “Barney” Greenway commented:

“Very happy to let people know that we have put pen to paper and taken the plunge with Century Media again. Crucial to Napalm Death was that we continued to retain artistic and creative control and also continue to have a determining voice in how our music is used – and, equally as importantly, isn’t used. The people we have consistently worked with down the years at Century Media have always been extremely attuned to this, and we have never experienced anything like the heavy hand of suffocating commercial pressure that can be inherent in this kind of relationship and lead to crappy creative outcomes. Looking forward to sonically bending more minds with their help.”

Philipp Schulte, director of Century Media Records Europe, added:

“Napalm Death and Century Media Records have gone a long way together already, so it makes us very happy continuing as the band’s partner for the years ahead. The value of artistic freedom and creativity has always been of profound significance for Napalm Death. It was the key to becoming and staying one of the most important bands – then and now. We take this very seriously. Thanks to the band for their trust. We are looking forward to this extended strong partnership.”

Iced Earth And Demons & Wizards No Longer Appear On Century Media Records’ Artist Roster

It looks like Iced Earth and Demons & Wizards have both been dropped from Century Media Records due to Jon Schaffer’s involvement in the treasonous pro-Trump insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. There has been no official announcement, but both bands are no longer featured on the label’s artist roster. This news comes after Schaffer was recently arrested by the FBI. He is currently facing six charges.

Eyehategod Sign With Century Media, Announce New Album “A History Of Nomadic Behavior”

Eyehategod have signed a new deal with Century Media Records. The band are planning to release a new album, titled “A History Of Nomadic Behavior,” through the label in spring 2021.

The group commented:

“Eyehategod are pleased to announce we’ve signed a licensing deal with Century Media Records USA and Europe…! We welcome the new changes along with the new year coming, and want this union to benefit everyone involved, especially our rabid and disturbed fans across the globe!”

Century Media‘s Vice President of A&R Mike Gitter added:

“Eyehategod are survivors on every level. Since 1988 they’ve been part of the framework of extreme music and ‘A History of Nomadic Behavior‘ will be no exception. Theirs is a tough and turbulent road that would have stopped most bands dead in their tracks.

Not these NOLA legends. Century Media has been part of their career from the early days and we’re excited to be working together again. Eyehategod is here to stay.”

Misery Index Sign With Century Media Records

Mimi Barks Signs With Century Media

Trap metal artist Mimi Barks has signed a new deal with Century Media Records. With this news, she has also confirmed that her new single “Back Off” will be released on September 4.

Barks commented:

“To be honest, I never wanted to work with a label. Experiences got me thinking they are all crooks. I hate that sassy, know-it-all industry attitude. Tryna enforce their idea of what an artist should look like and deliver musically, making sure it fits right into the charts zeitgeist.

I got the feeling Century Media sees artists and they work with them because they actually fuck with their music, not coz they see potential to mold that person to their liking. If they wouldn’t fuck with the music, they wouldn’t team up. Straight forward and no shit talk. I trust that they won’t interfere, but execute my vision.

Eventually they got me when we were on a night out in Berlin, getting lit till 5AM/6AM, when on our way home they were like, ‘Why we going home? I’d love to go on a rave right now’. It’s a match.”

Frozen Soul Sign With Century Media Records

Frozen Soul have signed a new deal with Century Media Records. The band’s new album “Crypt Of Ice” will be released through the label this fall. Frontman Chad Green commented:

“As I’ve grown and gotten further and further into heavy music, Century Media‘s rich history in death metal has played a huge role in developing me as a musician: from Grave and Deicide to Blood Incantation and Skeletal Remains we’re honored to be part of that legacy.”

@frozensoultx announce signing with CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS! Dallas Texas’ #FROZENSOUL lives up to its name as death metal at its coldest and most classic. Now, having stirred the underground with their four song demo-turned-EP “Encased In Ice” (via California’s Maggot Stomp Records) and a string of unforgettable live shows across the US, FROZEN SOUL have inked a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. “As I've grown and gotten further and further into heavy music, Century Media's rich history in death metal has played a huge role in developing me as a musician: from Grave and Deicide to Blood Incantation and Skeletal Remains we’re honored to be part of that legacy,” says frontman Chad Green. Formed in 2018 by Green and guitarist Michael Munday, who were both also handling caveman duties with local bonecrushers, End Times, FROZEN SOUL immediately picked up a buzz for their filthy, raw sounds and atmospheric live show. Shows opening for Blood Incantation, Gatecreeper, and Obituary helped usher the band into the national light as crowds were left stunned in the band’s icy wake, chilling blue lights and a snow machine addled atmosphere that chilled the Dallas heat. With only their EP to their name, FROZEN SOUL (its lineup now rounded out by bassist Samantha Mobley, second guitarist Chris Bonner and drummer Matt Dennard) hit the road in North America throughout 2019 as well as the dead of Winter 2020, converting crowds much like the march of Game of Thrones’ Night King. “It was a classic case of hard work and vision paying off”, says Century Media US A&R Mike Gitter. “Their influences are classic, but ugly riff for riff, they set themselves apart by being that much heavier.” Says Century Media head Philipp Schulte: „We are very happy to announce the worldwide signing of FROZEN SOUL from Texas. The band got our attention with their excellent demo release “Encased In Ice” that offers death metal in its most primal form – ferocious, straight and brutal. Bands like Grave, Unleashed and Morgoth laid the foundation to Century Media Records. Teaming up with FROZEN SOUL means to solidify this foundation and to carry the torch of real death metal into the future

The Pretty Reckless Sign With Century Media

The Pretty Reckless have signed a new deal with Century Media Records for territories outside of the U.S. The band’s new album “Death By Rock And Roll” will be released through the label later this year.

The Pretty Reckless’ manager David Sonenberg commented:

“When we first heard the new album, ‘Death By Rock And Roll’, we were very excited. We couldn’t wait to play it to record labels. We took a ton of meetings and received offers from a broad range of labels. But it quickly became apparent that Century Media was the right partner for us. They shared our passion and enthusiasm for what we believe will be a breakthrough album for The Pretty Reckless. So, here’s to our new partnership with Century Media! And long live rock and roll!!!”

Philipp Schulte, label manager for Century Media Records, added:

“We are stoked to announce the signing of The Pretty Reckless for a worldwide partnership outside the USA. When we started talking to the band’s management, it instantly became clear we all shared a common vision for The Pretty Reckless, and it felt natural to partner up and make this vision become reality. ‘Death By Rock And Roll’ isn’t only a fantastic album, but a storm warning, announcing the return of stadium rock! Welcome to Century Media Records!”
