Chamber Premiere New Song “without a trace”

Chamber have premiered a new song titled “without a trace.” This track is from the band’s new album, “this is goodbye…,” which will be released on March 27. Guitarist/vocalist Gabe Manuel commented:

“‘without a trace’ came together really early on in the writing process, and was initially supposed to be the first song on the record. We realized during tracking that it belonged on the latter half of the record for pacing reasons, but it was hard to give up on the idea of raking that fucked up chord being the first thing that listeners would hear. That moment is still one of my favorites on the record. The end of this song has a breakdown buildup that could have fit on our first EP, so it’s nice to nod back to that incarnation of the band. Lyrically, this song is about broken people who grift their way to positions of power or success with no regard for the people they hurt along the way. Even if they never truly get what they deserve, when the lights go out at night they still have to reckon with who they really are.”

Hellripper Premiere “Mortercheyn” Video

Hellripper have premiered a new video for their new song “Mortercheyn.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “Coronach,” which will be released on March 27.

James McBain commented:

“Much like the previously released ‘Kinchyle (Goatkraft and Granite),’ the lyrics on this track come from a more personal place. The title itself is a little nod to a track on the previous album, ‘The Nuckelavee,’ and mortercheyn is said to be the disease spread by the creature in its wake. It is a contagious and lethal sickness that primarily affects horses, and is used in the song to represent the decay and downfall of the world.

Musically, ‘Mortercheyn‘ is a crust track at its core, drenched in a sinister atmosphere that lies between the black metal vibe of Watain and the raw aggression of bands like Martyrdöd and Skitsystem.

Hints of Whiplash and Agent Steel are clearly evident in the guitar work and are paired with some uncomfortable ambience inspired by the likes of Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares. On the surface, it may feel like one of the less ‘complex’ songs on the album, but I think there’s quite a lot going on throughout.”

Draconian have premiered a new video for their new song “Cold Heavens.” This track is from their new album, “In Somnolent Ruin,” which will be released on May 8. Guitarist Johan Ericson commented:

“In need of a more up-tempo song, ‘Cold Heavens’ was the final piece written for ‘In Somnolent Ruin.’ The intention was to create a simple, straightforward track to balance the album’s longer compositions and add versatility. Lisa’s laid-back vocals take center stage, guiding us through a bleak, cold landscape before giving way to Anders’ more spiteful and desperate delivery. The song ends with a sense of resignation, leading into the album’s next track.”
