    Drummer Maty Madiro went on to say that $1 from every ticket sold will go to Musicians On Call:

    “We’re excited to be able to take the healing power of music outside of the live environment we co-create with our fans while on the road, into places where it is needed, for people that need it the most. Musicians On Call is a phenomenal organization and it’s an absolute honor to be able to support their work!”

  • DIETH Sign New Deal With Fireflash Records, Announce New Bassist

    DIETH (ex-Entombed A.D., etc.) have signed a new deal with Fireflash Records. With this news, the band have also welcomed bassist Tobias Cristiansson (ex-Grave, etc.) to the band. He replaces David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth) in the group.

    Vocalist/guitarist Guilherme Miranda commented:

    “This feels like the right home for us, as they share our vision of where we can take the band. We’ve poured our heart and soul into this new music, and I honestly couldn’t be more excited about what we have in store. New lineup, new music, new album — this is just the beginning.

    It’s a pleasure to welcome my longtime friend Tobias to DIETH. His history speaks for itself, and he fits perfectly with what we’re building. I’m beyond happy and honored to have him with us for this new chapter.”

    A new song, titled “Pound Of Flesh,” will debut on October 16. Miranda added the following about that:

    “‘Pound Of Flesh’ is brutal, and that’s exactly what I wanted this song to be. Musically and lyrically, it’s one of my favorite things we’ve done. I’m very excited because it’s a new chapter for DIETH. I really can’t wait for you guys to hear and see what we’ve been working on!”

  • Megadeth Plan To Review The Leftover Material From Their Self-Titled Album Sessions To “See If There’s Anything There”

    Megadeth released their farewell self-titled album earlier this year. However, it appears the band are now considering the possibility of releasing futher material from the sessions.

    Vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine said the following during a September 24 Q&A session at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, CA:

    “We’ve always gone into the studio [with] songs [prepared], but if you’re a writer, you’re going to write, and you go to the studio and you’re making a record, it’s not easy to just turn off the creative juices, you know?
I can’t tell you how many megabytes of riffs there are at the end of our songs, because we’ll be listening [back] to the song and spur on a new idea. And I will say or the guys will say, ‘Scroll to the end — speed to the end of the song,’ and then [we] put the new idea at the end of the song.
Once the whole record’s done, that’s when we go back and find all those pieces. So, at some point, we’re going to go back with this record and see all the half-songs that are there and see what we have. And maybe we’ll end up discovering some new songs that are left over from the sessions.”

    He also added:

    “We have these portions of material that are at the end of several tracks over the various records. We can go back and see if there’s anything there, because fuck, if there’s, like, half of ‘Holy Wars’ and a half of ‘Black Friday’ there, I’m going to release that. But as far as the studio is concerned, my hand… that lump in the middle of my hand, it’s getting worse, and eventually, that’s going to be an impasse. When that date comes, I’m going to get the surgery, and either it’s going to work or it’s not going to work. And if it doesn’t work, then I had a fucking great run.”

  • Mudvayne’s Chad Gray: “My Throat’s Fucked Up”

    During an appearance on The Jesea Lee Show, Chad Gray (Mudvayne, HELLYEAH) discussed the vocal injury that led to the cancellation of his shows in San Diego, CA and Santa Ana, CA. The singer says his health is “good,” but his “throat’s fucked up.”

    Gray said the following:

    “I live in the desert, and we flew into Nashville for rehearsals [for my solo tour], and my voice wasn’t working. So I thought it was, like, allergies. There’s a lot of ragweed there, and just other shit. It’s a Petri dish in Nashville when it comes to allergies. So I thought it was just that. And then we started moving, and it wasn’t getting better; it was actually getting worse. I was just working with my coach, and she’s, like, ‘I don’t know what’s going on, but something’s going on. I don’t know what it is, but something’s going on.’ So I went — four days ago, [I] got scoped [where they] put the thing down your nose and look at your vocal cords. And they looked at it, and one of my vocal folds is twice as wide as the other one, which makes it heavier than the way your vocals work, ’cause [they’re like] butterfly wings. They hit each other, and now mine are fucking crazy hitting each other. And there’s a big broken blood vessel on the front of it, which means that at some point I’ve hemorrhaged and bled or whatever.”

    He continued when asked if he coughed up blood:

    “No. But I wish I would’ve coughed up blood so then at least I would know when it happened. Because my shows before these shows, I was, like, ‘I can’t miss.’ I felt really good about my voice vocally. So I’m supposed to stay quiet — vocal rest… So that’s where I’m at, man.

    To tell you I was scared would be the understatement of my life. ‘Cause I’m fucking scared to death. It’s not only my instrument — it’s my life, it’s my career, it’s what I do for a living. The idea of the potential fatality of this is enormous. But you gotta take care of it. And it’s a hurry-up-and-wait thing. The only thing that’s gonna heal it is time.”

    He also added the following when asked if doctors have recommended surgery:

    “Not at this point. But I think I’m gonna need one, though, to deal with that larger fold. So, yeah. I don’t know. But, yeah, not to bring everybody down. But life-wise, I’m good. Health-wise, I’m good. Just my throat’s fucked up.”

  • Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With PLUME

    Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with PLUME.

    METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

    PLUME: Hi, we’re PLUME and we’re from Munich. We recently released our debut album, “Saferooms & Healing Frequencies,“ which is about being human and healing. The album is built around the idea of “saferooms,” inspired by video games. They’re little spaces where you can feel safe, take a breath and collect yourself for a moment while listening. Each song is like entering a new level, where something unexpected might be waiting for you. In a way, we created a saferoom for ourselves through this album, with music as our healing frequencies. And we hope that, by listening to it, other people can find their own saferoom in it too.

    METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

    PLUME: For this album, our main influences were Charli XCX, Akira Yamaoka, Underoath, Crystal Castles, Bring Me The Horizon and Ethel Cain. In general, we draw inspiration from a lot of different places and try to translate those influences into our own language and interpret them in our own way. And honestly, our inspiration goes way beyond just these artists. It can be anything from The Cure to Lady Gaga. It really depends on where we are in life and what we’re going through at a certain point. Also a lot of media is influencing the music we make, like mentioned above video games, films and other forms of pop culture play a huge part in our inspiration process.

    METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

    PLUME: As mentioned before, we recently released our debut album, “Saferooms & Healing Frequencies.” It’s our take on modern rock music and we feel like it steps a little outside the usual boundaries of what “modern” rock can sound like. When we write songs, we don’t really set ourselves any limits. We want to bring all of our different influences together into one sound that feels like us. There are a lot of different things going on across the album, from heavy and aggressive moments to more atmospheric and emotional parts. We don’t really care if something fits into a specific genre or not. If we like it and it feels right for the song, we keep it. I think that’s also what makes the album interesting for us. You never really know what’s going to come next, but somehow it all belongs to the same world. And if it works, it works.

    METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

    PLUME: It’s an experience. For us, the live show is the absolute highlight of making music. It’s like an energy circle. We give something to the audience, they take it in, transform it and give it back to us. We’re hungry for that energy. After a PLUME show, you’ll definitely be sweaty, but hopefully also feel like you’ve been cleansed of some negative energy. It’s a kind of organized chaos that somehow makes sense and just feels good. You can lose yourself in it for a while and just be part of the moment.

    METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band in five years?

    PLUME: Definitely on the road, touring internationally and playing as many shows as possible. We’ll be somewhere where we spend most of our time playing shows, writing music and traveling. We’ll always be pushing forward. No matter what.

  • Phil Rudd (Ex-AC/DC) Fined For Careless Driving In New Zealand

    According to The New Zealand Herald, Phil Rudd (ex-AC/DC) was recently fined after being charged with careless driving in Tauranga, New Zealand. The drummer was penalized after driving his car over a planted roundabout and hitting a small tree on Lakes Boulevard in Tauriko. Community magistrate Shaun Cole hit Rudd with a $500 fine. He was also ordered to pay $100 worth of court costs.

  • Scorpions’ Upcoming “Wind Of Change” Biopic Will Hit German Theaters In January 2027

    Scorpions’ “Wind Of Change” biopic is officially set to hit German theaters on January 28. Further release plans are still pending. As previously reported, the movie was directed by Alex Ranarivelo and produced by ESX Entertainment for Fox Entertainment. The cast includes Alexander Dreymon as guitarist Rudolf Schenker, Ludwig Trepte as singer Klaus Meine, Ed Speleers as guitarist Matthias Jabs, Luke Brandon Field as drummer Herman Rarebell, Dominic West as manager Doc McGhee, and David Kross as Andrej, a friend of the band imprisoned on the other side of the Berlin Wall.   • L7 Share New Song “Loma Linda”

    L7 have premiered a new song titled “Loma Linda.” Frontwoman Donita Sparks commented:

    “This new single marks the return of Janis Tanaka being back in L7 on bass after the sadness of losing Jennifer Finch a couple of months ago. I was searching the band’s archives and came across this unfinished track from when Janis was in the band. It still sounded rather fresh and very L7, so we recorded new vocals with new lyrics and some other additional tracks and cranked it out in a couple of days ahead of this upcoming tour. Gotta warn ya, we dig it and hope you do too.”
