• Benediction Recruit Massacre Vocalist Kam Lee For Their Upcoming Latin American Tour

Benediction have recruited Massacre vocalist Kam Lee for their Latin American tour. This news comes after frontman Dave Ingram exited the group.

The band issued the following statement:

    “FROM BEYOND!…

Exciting news for our friends in Latin/South America I!!

Benediction can now confirm that the guy assuming the frontman/vocalist position on their LATAM tour in November will be the original voice of Death Metal, KAM LEE!

The band are super excited about the prospect of working with Kam and are looking forward to going back on the road in one of their favourite territories.

    Here is a direct message from the Man Himself;

“I am excited to be joining Benediction as vocalist for the LATAM tour. Given my long-term friendship with Dave Ingram, it was vital for me to obtain his dark blessing before stepping into this position.

The band has been aided by notable talent, including Oscar Rilo and Dave Hunt, who have both delivered impressive live performances. I’m eager to follow their lead and hope to adequately represent the band and satisfy the fans.”

So there it is! Go grab your tickets and let’s make this historic event something people will talk about for years!!!

This promises to be a real case of ‘legends collide’ and a true celebration of ‘OLD SCHOOL! DEATH METAL!’”

  • Anthrax Guitarist Scott Ian: “The Administration In Power Does Nothing To Protect The Children Of This Country”

During a recent interview with Allison Hagendorf, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian took some time to blast the current administration of the U.S. According to him, “the administration in power does nothing to protect the children of this country and does harm to children of other countries all over the world.”

Ian said the following while discussing the band’s latest single “It’s For The Kids“:

“I was definitely… That’s how I deal with anger. As I’ve learned over the years, anger is fear-based, and certainly having a son has changed my… If it doesn’t change your outlook, there’s something wrong with you, if it doesn’t change the way you feel about things. And, yeah, in some ways, there’s more fear in my life because you have a child, and this world we live in has proven to be not a safe place for children anywhere — not just here in the United States.

And I have a lot of fear about that, which then, of course, turns into anger about that because nobody does anything. Nobody does anything. Speaking specifically from my point of view as a tax-paying citizen of the United States, I can safely say that the administration in power does nothing to protect the children of this country and does harm to children of other countries all over the world. And if you disagree with that, you’re wrong. It’s not opinion, it’s fact.

And the lyrics to this song are my feelings. And it’s me spewing anger so it doesn’t eat me up. It’s always been a tool I’ve used since I was a kid, since I first wrote lyrics on an Anthrax record in 1985, it’s been a way for me to vent. And it’s very cathartic and it’s very therapeutic for me. And people say, ‘What do you have to be angry about?’ I’m, like, look out the window, dude. Yeah, I’m in a band. I fucking love what I do. I get to play guitar. It puts a smile on my face the same way it did when I was nine years old. But I’m a human being with normal human emotions and thoughts and maybe too smart for my own good. [Laughs]”

  • Devin Townsend Shares Music Video For New Songs “Prepare For War” And “The Big Snit”

Devin Townsend has premiered a new video for his new songs “Prepare For War” and “The Big Snit.” Those tracks are from his new album, “The Moth,” which will be released on May 29.

    Townsend commented:

“This is a track that essentially acts as a ‘soundtrack for an unmade movie’ …if you think of it as a ‘song’ it’s not really going to work, but if you think of it as a cinematic ‘experience’ that is representative of the final moments before a ‘fundamental change’, it’s a cool adventure.

Either viewed from the lens of the ‘war’ being that of two warring factions whose actions have culminated in a ‘final battle’, or the same thing being essentially a metaphor for an internal struggle, it works in the same light. The battle itself can be representative of a decision, loss, change, or whatever. But sitting with the difficulty of life and our natures can often be violent work, so ‘the fastest way out is through’ and this piece of music represents that process. The ending is meant to be a representation of a sort of personal awakening.

The name ‘The Big Snit’ was taken from a short cartoon from the Canadian national film board by the same name I grew up with. If you get a chance, look it up on YouTube … I guess my version here is simply a kind of heavy metal version of that :)”
