Sol Invicto (Deftones, Cypress Hill, etc.) and Technical Itch have announced a new collaborative series. The first single, “Clarity,” can be found below. The following was said about the new song:
“A dark industrial drum & bass metal hybrid, the track blends Stephen Carpenter’s heavy, detuned guitar riffs with Technical Itch’s sinister soundscapes and raw amen edits over dense, rolling production. The result is an aggressive, low-end driven beast that merges relentless jungle breakbeat energy with nasty detuned metal riffs.”
As previously reported, Lordi and Johnny Logan recently covered each other’s songs in honor of the Eurovision Song Contest. Lordi took on Logan’s “Hold Me Now” alongside Noora Louhimo (ex-Battle Beast), while Logan took on Lordi’s “Hard Rock Hallelujah.” Now, during the May 24 episode of the German television show “ZDF Fernsehgarten,” the musicians performed the tracks live. Masterplan, the project featuring former Helloween guitarist Roland Grapow, have premiered a new video for their new song “The Call.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Metalmorphosis,” which will be released on June 26. Grapow commented:
“‘The Call’ is the most complex and controversial song on the album, but also, in our view, one of its most powerful. It feels like a prayer — just written in a modern way. We worked on this track longer than on any other. We don’t want to explain exactly what the song means, because everyone will hear something different in it. That’s the whole point. But we’d still like to think it has a positive message: no matter how chaotic life becomes, we all return to where we came from. And somewhere under all the noise, we should try to find the harmony we were born with — to create, not destroy.”
Satan vocalist Brian Ross has shared a new health update after undergoing a “major life-saving preventative surgery.” He said the following:
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who sent me messages of support regarding my recent surgery. It means a lot to me that so many of you were thinking of me when I needed it most. It will be a while before I am able to play gigs and take part in tours. The guys in Blitzkrieg and Satan are presently writing material for new albums and when I am able I will add my contributions to the new songs. Thank you so much.”
