Lordi To Release “Recordead Live – Sextourcism In Z7” In July

Lordi’s new live release “Recordead Live – Sextourcism In Z7” will be available on DVD, vinyl, and digipack on July 26. The effort will feature a show the group played in Pratteln, Switzerland during their “Sextourcism” tour. The DVD will also come with bonus material including a tour diary and all of the official videos the band have made, even the official 1994 music video for “Inferno.”

Mr. Lordi said the following about the DVD:

“We just cut a little bit of my stupid announcements on stage. Apart from that, everything that happened this evening ended up on this DVD.”

“I am very happy that we waited until the ‘Sextourcism’ tour, because we look amazing, the stage looks amazing and everything was perfect to create a stunning DVD.”

He also added the following about the rare “Inferno” video:

“That was the historical moment that the masks and costumes became an essential part of the band. Since it was my final dissertation, everyone was dressed up except me. When I saw the clip for the first time, I was, like, ‘Fuck, everybody looks way cooler than I do.’ It was supposed to be the other way around. That was the moment, I decided, to create the most elaborate costume for myself.”

Bassist Ox To Exit Lordi

Bassist Ox has announced that he will be exiting Lordi after the summer festival season. He decided to leave after feeling a “very strong urge to do something else in music.”

The band commented:

“Dear LORDI fans,

This is a very sad day in the history of the band. Our long term bandmember and close friend OX has decided to leave the band after the summer festivals 2019. OX, all the best for your future and thanks for the fantastic time we had all together.”

Ox added:

“It has come the day that I have to tell you that I will be leaving Lordi. There is no drama, no major issues or anything like that. I just feel very strong urge to do something else in music and to be available for other musical journeys, what ever those will be. I will do the summer festivals with Lordi and after that it’s time for the new guy to take it from there. I wanna thank the band and especially the best fans on this planet, for these 13 years and the greatest ride of my life. I love you all from the pound of my heart and I hope to see you again somewhere sometime.❤”
