• Yungblud Shares Music Video For New Version Of “Zombie” Featuring Smashing Pumpkins

Yungblud has teamed up with The Smashing Pumpkins for a new version of “Zombie.” You can find a music video for the updated take on the track below:

    Yungblud commented:

“’Siamese Dream’ was an album that was there for me more than I could ever explain when I was growing so to be making music with the band that created it is really quite hard to comprehend. Billy has always been such a massive inspiration to me but more recently a huge mentor of mine. His outlook on the importance of truth in art is something that I’ve always held close to my heart.

‘Zombie’ is the most important song of ‘Idols’ to me. It’s deeply personal and it was heavily influenced by The Smashing Pumpkins’ ability to mix emotion, cinema and heavy guitars. I sent Billy an email, asking if he would re-imagine this song with me and when he agreed to it, it was a dream come true. To watch one of my idols work on something that I had written was one of the greatest honors of my life. I love that this new version of ‘Zombie’ is heavier; it has Billy Corgan’s iconic guitar sound, it has more urgency and it rips my heart out. I’m so proud of it.”

    Billy Corgan added:

“Yungblud’s star shines bright, so it’s been great fun to lend our zig-zag voice to his ‘Zombie’, which he’s said was inspired by one of our own. Hence, the encouragement that we make this rendition as personal as possible and I’m proud to say we’ve done that; if only to honor him in return.”

  • Helmet’s Page Hamilton Guests On New Officer Lucifer Song “Far From Right”

Helmet’s Page Hamilton is featured on a new Officer Lucifer song titled “Far From Right.” You can check that out below:

The following was said about the track:

“With ‘Far From Right,’ Officer Lucifer offer no comfort and no easy answers. The track stands as a warning and a challenge, demanding awareness, resistance, and a rejection of the systems that thrive on apathy.”

    The following was also added:

“Beyond the music, Officer Lucifer function as a fully realized world. Band members are portrayed as hybrid soldiers assigned distinct military-style ranks, reinforcing a shared identity rooted in rebellion, unity, and defiance. The result is not just a collection of songs, but a living mythos designed to confront listeners and challenge complacency.”

  • The Ocean Finishing Up New Album

The Ocean have confirmed that they are currently finishing up the recording process for their new album. The effort is expected to be released later this year.

    Guitarist Robin Staps commented:

    “Happy new year, friends.

2025 was a transitional year, but a very important one for The Ocean. A year ago, I had a hard time imagining this next chapter without my former band mates Paul, Loïc and David. I was determined to push the pause button myself and focus on other projects, like everybody else. But as old things fell apart, new things fell into place… almost effortlessly and much quicker than I could have hoped for.

After a year of reflecting, rebuilding and reshaping, it feels very much like everything is in the right place. The Ocean Collective is ready for the next chapter: we are in the process of finishing recordings for an hour of new music. Our 12th studio album will be released in the 2nd half of 2026. And I am as excited about this as a 46 years old kid waiting to play his first gig ever.

Thank you all for still being here and following us through a rather quiet phase. We will treat you with something nice in a little while. Until then, we wish you a splendid new year. Stay warm and healthy, everything else is less important.”

  • Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler “Using An A.I. Singer” To Work On New Music

During a Q&A session conducted at the 2025 Steel City Con in Monroeville, PA, Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) confirmed that he is working on a new solo album. He also revealed that he is “using an A.I. singer” on the material.

    Butler said the following:

“Oh, gosh. I’ve got tons of stuff. Since we finished the last Sabbath show [at ‘Back To The Beginning’ in July 2025], I’ve just been going through all the stuff that I’ve written since the ’80s onwards and updating everything.

And what held me back before, I didn’t have a singer when I’m at home, but A.I. [artificial intelligence] came along. [Laughs] So all my songs now, I’ve updated them all and I’m using an A.I. singer to bring all the lyrics out. So now I can take it to singers that I’m gonna be working with and go, ‘This is what I want on the album,’ so they’ve got a better idea.

Before I was just, like, playing them a bass riff or something, going, ‘Can you sing to this?’ And they’d be going, ‘Yeah.’ [Laughs] But it’s so much better now, ’cause you can sit in your studio and do everything on A.I. and then take it to proper musicians and let them take over. It’s really helped me. A lot of people think it’s cheating.”
