• Movements Premiere New Song “Everything Is Fine”

Movements have premiered a new song titled “Everything Is Fine.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Happier Now,” which will be released on September 4. Singer Patrick Miranda commented:

“”Everything Is Fine’ is one of those songs that took a while to get right. It went through multiple different versions before we landed on this one, and it ended up being one of my favorite choruses on the record. It’s a song about anxiety, and I think fans of the earlier Movements subject matter will really enjoy this one.”

  • Matt Heafy Reflects On The Kindness Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix Showed Trivium In 2005

Trivium’s Matt Heafy recently reflected on meeting Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix for the first time at the 2005 UK Download Festival. He says the kindness Shaddix showed him “stuck with [him] forever.”

    Here’s Heafy’s full statement:

“Back in 2005, I remember finishing download festival – one of our greatest shows ever – but I remember it being bittersweet because while the fans were insane, I had the lingering situation that most of our favorite bands in the metal scene hated our guys and bullied us in person when we’d tour with them.

I met Jacoby backstage at download – he was super kind and said how he dug our band – I thanked him but somehow I knew I could mention the bullying and crap we were dealing with. He told me “f the haters” and that if we stick to our guns and stay true to ourselves – we’d rise above all of that. That kindness of one of my musical childhood heroes stuck with me forever.

I ran back into Jacoby after years at Rock am Ring last week ish – he was just as amazing a human as ever.

We were invited to do a show with them in Budapest. Their entire crew, org, and band treated us like kings.

Jacoby and Papa Roach and their entire org are an example of how everyone should do this. Treat everyone as equals and with respect and kindness.

Jacoby. You’re a true star in every sense of the word. Seeing all the band’s kids out rocking to their parents made me so happy and excited for the future when my kids could one day join me on stage overseas as well.

Y’all are incredible. I hope we can do more shows together.”

  • Yngwie Malmsteen Plans To Release New Album “Hell Or High Water” In November

During a recent interview with The Metal Voice, Yngwie Malmsteen offered an update on his new album “Hell Or High Water.” According to him, the effort will arrive in November.

    Malmsteen said the following:

“It’s done. It’s in the can.”

He continued when asked if it’s instrumental:

“No. No. No. It’s four songs I sing on it. I’m really happy with it. [it’s gonna get] a November release.”

He went on to discuss the musical direction:

“I would say it’s very Malmsteen-esque. It sounds like Yngwie Malmsteen… You will definitely hear the similarities. I would say some of the instrumental stuff is really, really nuts. But there’s some cool metal — I’d say, like, not metal, but whatever you wanna call it now.”

    He also shared more details:

“The album’s called ‘Hell Or High Water’. And I made it specifically to fit on the vinyl record. Nine [songs], [with] one bonus track, but it’s 46 minutes [long]… I deliberately [made it] like that. I had a lot more ideas, a lot more songs, but I made it so it’s exactly that.”

    He added:

“This album I just made now — most of my albums, I would say — you couldn’t just take one song and it’d be representative of the record. They all complement each other. They all have their own thing. ‘Oh, that’s what the album sounds like.’ No, because the next song doesn’t sound like that. You have to hear it as an album. It’s made as an album, like a movie. ‘Oh, yeah, look at that scene. Yeah, three minutes.’ No, that’s not enough. You have to see the whole movie. You read the whole book. And I made it that the sequence of the songs and everything, they’re following —I think about tempos and key signatures and stuff like this. And I’m really happy with it.”

He also confirmed that it’s not a concept album:

“No, I wouldn’t call it that. I mean, if you wanted to, you could analyze it any way you like. You can go, ‘Yeah, it’s a concept album,’ but it’s not meant to be. But it could be, I guess.”
