  • Foo Fighters To Open For AC/DC In St. Louis, MO

    Foo Fighters have been added to AC/DC’s headlining show at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO. The concert will be held on September 8 and it will find the band filling in for The Pretty Reckless.

    Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl commented:

    “I remember it like it was yesterday….

    It was AC/DC’s 1980 concert film ‘Let There Be Rock’ that truly introduced me to the raw, primal power of rock and roll performance for the first time. Sure, I had Beatles records, I had Kiss posters, I had an old, broken acoustic guitar with a few strings that I would pretend to play in front of the hallway closet mirror when no one was home, but it wasn’t until that fateful night at the tender age of eleven years old that my best friend, Larry Hinkle and I went downtown to the Uptown theater in Washington D.C. and actually witnessed it on full display.

    Watching from the edge of my seat the entire time, it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. How could five human beings conjure and possess such intensity onstage with just their instruments, and do so with such swagger, such groove….and such danger? My mind was blown. Melted. Changed forever. And my heart felt like it might explode with passion and inspiration.

    From that night on, the bar was set exceptionally high. If you were a drummer and you didn’t have to change your snare drum between songs from pummeling it to splinters, you weren’t hitting it hard enough. If you were a guitarist and you didn’t need oxygen on the side of the stage between solos, you weren’t playing hard enough. If you were a frontman in a band and you weren’t drenched in sweat by the end of the show, you weren’t giving the audience what they deserve (All of these moments can be witnessed in this legendary film)

    It’s safe to say that If it weren’t for this movie, this band, and their decades of timeless anthems, I surely would have approached my life in music from a different perspective. So, if you have ever seen me beat the living shit out of a drum set, or run from side to side of a stage drenched in sweat after hours of hammering my guitar to pieces, you’ll now understand why. All I have ever wanted was to someday live up to the awe inspiring fury of AC/DC, live onstage (an impossible task, by the way)

    And now, for the first time since that fateful night in 1980, my band Foo Fighters will share a stage with the gentlemen who are single handedly responsible for my determination to give every audience everything I have, every night. This is literally a dream come true. So…..if you want blood….you’ve got it.

    Let there be fucking rock, St Louis. See you September 8th.

  • Enslaved Premiere “Solar Will” Video

    Enslaved have premiered a new video for their new song “Solar Will.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Mið,” which will be released on October 30.

    Guitarist Ivar Bjørnson commented:

    “There have been sun cults as long as Magic Man has been around (at least). The Sun is a nurturing and terrifying parent that can grant as well as obliterate life totally. Such a classic and awe-inspiring object of our worship and myths requires classic and awesome riffs, Bonham-esque drum grooves and blistering melodic flares celebrating its horrific glory. This is what that sounds like to me: ‘Solar Will!’”

    Vocalist/bassist Grutle Kjellson added:

    “‘Solar Will’ explores archetypal conflicts, those that manifest in nature, the cosmos, mythology, and, above all, within the human mind. In this instance, the central struggle is expressed through one of the enduring rivalries found in Norse mythology, embodied by two important, though often somewhat overlooked, figures within the pantheon. Readers familiar with the Norse mythological tradition will likely recognize the identities rather instantly, yet I shall refrain from naming them, allowing each reader the opportunity to engage with and decipher the lyrics on their own. After all, perhaps this is one of the essential functions of lyric writing: to invite interpretation and cultivate a sense of wonder? The conclusion, or more precisely, the absence of one, suggests that, for human beings, chaos and dreams are at least as significant as the realities we perceive through our senses. Ultimately, the work advocates not for resolution, but for the acceptance, assimilation, and shaping of these often contradictory forces.”

  • King 810 Premiere “LOVE KILLS” Video

    King 810 have premiered a new video for their new song “LOVE KILLS.” This track is from the band’s new album, “K9: La Grande Mort or SILENCE OF GOD,” which will be released on November 27.

    Vocalist David Gunn commented:

    “This song is about the most dangerous game us animals play — love. ’LOVE KILLS’ reveals there is no ceremonial difference between weddings and funerals. There’s a type of devotion that doesn’t care whether the other person is alive to receive it. That’s what this song is – love that outlives the need for consent from the ultimate authority: death.”

    He also added the following about the album:

    “Ten years ago, we explored ‘the little death’ – a phrase the French use to describe orgasm – in a sexually charged body of work. This year, we experience the silence of God. The little death was only a rehearsal for the big death.

    The record is about two lovers and their inconceivably dark relationship. In keeping with the French, it explores the themes of folie à deux (madness shared by two) and l’amour fou (mad love) to their deepest depths. If only one didn’t have to experience these events to articulate them.

    The two individuals whose story is told in this work of non-fiction suffer from enmeshment — what happens when the boundaries between two people become so blurred that individuality starts to disappear. I also play with the idea of decalcomania — adapted from the French décalcomanie, equivalent to décalquer, ‘to transfer a tracing of,’ plus the English ‘-mania.’ Perhaps this can occur at inconceivable heights of creation, where a single soul may be imprinted on two separate individuals.”

  • Darko Planning New Album And Live Shows For 2027

    Darko, the project featuring Chelsea Grin’s Tom Barber and Josh Miller, have offered an update on their plans for 2027. Among them are a new album and their “first and only Darko U.S. shows.”

    The band commented:

    “thank you to all of you. for everything over the years. we’ve been able to express and have the most fun doing this project and bringing you guys music. we love doing darko and the support we get from you guys is unreal.

    thank you for all the love on oni 2 and cuckoo this year. it means the world to us and lets us continue doing this project that we love so much.

    A press release noted that the band’s time at the festival did not go smoothly behind the scenes:

    “The band’s hired car — a pink Caddy said to have belonged to actress Jayne Mansfield — was involved in a fender bender and arrived at the venue ‘broken and rattling.’ Then, one of the roadies restrung lead guitarist Kelly Johnson’s guitar with two D strings; and, finally, the band’s flashing neon backdrop was sabotaged by one of the other bands on the bill.”

    Vocalist/guitarist Kim McAuliffe continued:

    “The thing with Kelly is, she was such a genius and natural player, you could put anything in front of her and she could play it. She had an instinct. I used to watch her onstage sometimes, and I was quite amazed by her. She was such an incredible presence on stage. [The roadie] could probably have handed her a guitar with four strings and she’d still have been brilliant. I don’t think having two strings the same would have bothered her at all.”

    She also added:

    “I’d been there a couple of years before, standing on the other side in the mud, with this big plastic bag thing over me and knee deep in mud. So happy to be there, grinning away, having the time of my life. Little did I know I’d actually be headlining a couple of years later. It was absolutely nuts.

    We had the biggest pyrotechnic flashpots ever. Huge things. And apparently they could be heard seven miles away, so we were pleased about that. People wondering what the hell was going on with these massive bangs.”
