Tom DeLonge (Ex-Blink-182) To Make Directorial Debut With “Monsters Of California”

According to Deadline, Tom DeLonge (ex-Blink-182, etc.) will be making his directorial debut with the upcoming sci-fi film “Monsters Of California.” The movie is based off a script that the frontman co-wrote with Ian Miller.

The film is being produced by “Creepshow” producer The Cartel with Striker Entertainment in association with To The Stars Inc. and it will feature: Richard Kind (“Mad About You,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Casper Van Dien (“Starship Troopers”), Arianne Zucker (“Days of Our Lives”), Gabrielle Haugh (“Jeepers Creepers 3”), Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek, Jack Samson, Jared Scott and Jack Lancaster. Here’s a description of it:

“Monsters Of California is a coming of age adventure with a science fiction twist that follows teenager Dallas Edwards, played by Samson, and his derelict friends on a quest for the meaning behind a series of mysterious, paranormal events in Southern California. The truths they uncover begin to unravel extraordinary secrets held tightly within the deepest levels of the Government.”

DeLonge commented:

“I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades. It represents all aspects of my strange existence, including growing up in San Diego suburbia as a disaffected teenage skateboarder. I had a tight tribe of friends who never missed an opportunity to piss people off and made me laugh so hard I would cry. The camaraderie, curiosity, angst and irreverence is everything that lead me to Blink-182 and this story is layered with my obsession with the tightly blurred lines between science and science fiction.”

Pentagon Officially Publishes UFO Videos From Former Blink-182 Guitarist/Vocalist Tom DeLonge

The Pentagon have officially released three UFO videos from former Blink-182 guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge’s To The Stars Academy Of Arts And Sciences. According to CNN, the U.S. Navy confirmed that the footage was legit last year and the Pentagon have since published the clips “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.”

Mark Hoppus On The Possibility Of Tom DeLonge Returning To Blink-182: “That Is A Completely Unfounded Rumor At This Point”

Tom DeLonge recently made headlines after saying he was planning to return to Blink-182 one day, but now it appears that won’t be happening anytime soon. During a recent interview with KROQ-FM, Mark Hoppus was asked about a potential reunion and he responded with the following:

“There is not any talk of that right now. I mean I’ll never say never to anything, but that is a completely unfounded rumor at this point.”

Tom DeLonge On The Possibility Of Returning To Blink-182: “I Will Play With Blink Again”

During a new interview with 91X San Diego, Tom DeLonge expressed interest in returning to Blink-182. He said he still keeps in touch with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker and that he “will play with [the band] again.” However, he added that they are still “discussing what makes sense and when.”

DeLonge said the following about his potential return:

“It hit the press last week, I think that, yes everybody, I will play with Blink again. That’s the whole plan. I talk to Travis all the time, and I talked to Mark just the other day and we’re always discussing what makes sense and when.”

“There’s creative differences in what I do, and what my brothers in Blink do. We like different things, and we like different music, but we’re still good friends and we still support each other.”

This news comes after DeLonge recently told Kerrang! that he was planning to return to Blink-182 “in the future”:

“I get it – trust me, I love Blink and it’s given me everything in my life. And, you know, I plan on doing it in the future. But right now there’s just no way – I have way too much going on because Angels & Airwaves is a part of To The Stars, and that’s why it works.”

He continued:

“When I left blink the first time, I dealt with a lot of losing my identity and people being angry with me. I had to rebuild who I am and what I want to do with my life, and the world didn’t support it, really. I understand why, but then over time, they started to understand who I am and why I need to do the things I do.”

Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Denies Recent Meeting With Tom DeLonge

Last week, Tom DeLonge issued a statement regarding his current relationship with the other members of Blink-182, and said that he met with Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker recently. Now, Hoppus has revealed that he hasn’t talked to the singer “in a year and a half.”

Hoppus told Kevin Kline Live the following:

“I haven’t even spoken to Tom in a year and a half,” stated Hoppus, adding, “[Making music with Tom again] is so far down the road to even be a possibility.” During the chat, Hoppus stated that DeLonge’s Facebook posting caught him by surprise, but he did add, “I’ll never say never to anything, but this is what Blink-182 is right now.”

Tom DeLonge On Blink-182: “We Do Have A Future Together If We Want It”

Tom DeLonge has issued a new statement regarding his current relationship with the other members of Blink-182. You can read that below. As previously reported, the band have just released a new song, and announced a tour with their new vocalist Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio).

Here’s DeLonge’s statement:

“Hi everybody-

I understand all the craziness out there in Internet-land, it is an odd time for fans of the Blink-182 legacy, I know- It’s odd for me, too.

Well, I met with Mark yesterday, and Travis the week before…. I actually talk to Travis almost every day, now. In an odd way I’m almost closer to him more now than ever.

The answer is this:

We DO have a future together if we want it, but for now we are busy doing separate things. I am directing a movie this summer, releasing a couple more albums of music and digging deeper into my Sekret Machines Project with the US Department of Defense.

I know people are comparing the Angels and Airwaves Chasing Shadows EP to the new Blink-182 music, and that is a failed task. We are different people after different things. For one, I think partnering with a song-writer on the Blink album (Feldy- 5 Seconds of Summer, Good Charlotte) was too far a change, but something they desired, and that in itself may be an indicator of some of our current artistic differences that are difficult to overcome. I guess I’ve always just liked the song-writing we did together. But, at the end of the day, I support their desires. And if they are happy, then that’s what matters.

Earlier this year, I was recording the song NEW WORLD (on the DEMOS album titled after my own name) and that was my first early opinion of where we could possibly take Blink for the next album. But again, that’s just my idea, and I’m only one of three.

At the end of the day, both of us have ideas, but from opposite sides of the road… Now, we are at different places in our minds, careers and goals, I get it.

But that said, I obviously want them to make the music they wish. I have always been thankful for them in my life, but I am a forward thinking artist, and sometimes that leads me down a different and far-reaching path- That is why I have done progressive projects like: Box Car Racer, Angels and Airwaves- “LOVE” Feature Film and it’s albums, and even the “Dream Walker” Album, with the accompanying animations and Novel etc…

I look forward to my upcoming film and music adventures, and a hell of a lot more…

….Maybe throw in a bit of Blink-182, if we can build back that “special something” that was once there.”
