Otep Cancels U.S. Tour

Otep has cancelled her upcoming U.S. tour. The trek was scrapped due to safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Otep commented:

“My Real Ones, it is with a heavy heart that I write this to you. As you know, it’s been 3 years since I’ve toured the U.S. and performed for all of you and I have been anxiously awaiting for the moment where we could all be together again, to make new memories and give you the best show possible. However, many of you know that I have l lung issues due to chronic bronchitis as a child and with the surge of the Omicron variant, how rapid it’s spreading and the inconsistencies with state guidelines and mandates, it is impossible for us to enforce the proper covid protocols that my team & I are comfortable with to keep everyone safe.

To make this heavy decision, my team and I have had many, many (sometimes heated) discussions regarding what could be done and ultimately we decided it is best to unfortunately cancel the upcoming tour for fear of putting the health of the bands, our crew, the venue staff, myself & most importantly, YOU, at risk.

Also, most of you know that I’ve been struggling with the recent death of my brother & I cannot thank you enough for all your kind words & love. It means so much to my family & I as we still process this unimaginable grief. In that respect, I simply can’t put my family in a position that might result in another tragedy.

Again, I am so, so sorry. We tried everything. We really did. In the meantime, I will be taking the proper time to grieve and heal & working to finish my 9th album to give you everything you deserve.

Stay safe, stay healthy. Get vaxx’d so we can breathe freely again.

Love & stitches, xx Otep xx”.

Otep Says Marilyn Manson’s Wife Would Call Her House “Hysterical Because He Was On Another Drug Binge, Threatening Her Life”

Otep has taken to social media to comment on the disturbing abuse allegations that were leveled against Marilyn Manson by Evan Rachel Wood and several other women. According to her, Manson’s current wife Lindsay Usich was friends with her ex-girlfriend and she used to call their house “hysterical because he was on another drug binge, threatening her life, throwing knives at her that stuck in the wall and verbally assaulting her.”

Here’s Otep’s full statement:

“WARNING: UNPOPULAR OPINION COMNG: Hey everyone, ok, I’ve been getting a lot of requests regarding my thoughts on Manson. I don’t normally discuss personal stuff but since all this evidence is coming out that he’s sexually & physically assaulted a number of women and minors not to mention being a sexist and a Nazi sympathizer, I’ve decided to tell you what I know:

I was a HUGE fan of his. I even wore his shirt on Ozzfest when ppl were blaming him for Columbine. And I’ve met him many times. We have mutual friends including Gene Simmons son, Nick Simmons. Manson even told one of my fans he was afraid of me after SEVAS TRA was released which I took as a HUGE compliment.

But then I dated a woman who was friends with his current wife Lyndsay (and her twin sister – who’s married to James Iha of A Perfect Circle) and Lyndsay used to call our house In the early hours & I was told she hysterical bcz he was on another drug binge, threatening her life, throwing knives at her that stuck in the wall & verbally assaulting her. We offered many times to have her come to mine bcz he would NEVER come face ME with that bullshit (believe it) but sadly she wouldn’t leave him. So, my ex would be calm and talk her down until Manson realized she was on the phone and he whoa’d down.

But then he started calling in the early hours. I was told he was paranoid, gacked out of his mind, and accusing his wife of cheating with an imaginary person who had blonde hair with a blonde mustache named “Don” who he, I’m told, saw on his security cameras and was “fucking his wife”.

Look. This is heartbreaking for all the women he’s hurt but also for all the fans who always had his back – like ME.

BUT — He’s not the Luciferian evil everyone thinks he is. He’s just a violent junkie who chooses to bully and, according to reports, physically & sexually attacks women who he thinks are weaker than he is. I say …may he rot. #OTEP”

Otep’s comments come after Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) said that he has “been vocal over the years about [his] dislike of Manson as a person” and after Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) said that “every single thing that people have said about him is fucking true.” Since the allegations came out, California State Senator Susan Rubio has called for an investigation into Manson. Two of his exes, Rose McGowan and Dita Von Teese, have both commented as well. Von Teese’s statement was the most recent and she said that the “details made public do not match [her] personal experience” with the singer, while also adding that “abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship.” For his part, Manson claimed that the accusations “are horrible distortions of reality.”

“Empathy” 11.07.2020, Richmond, VA. CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, CBS… all the major news networks have just called the 2020 Presidential election for Joe Biden & Kamala Harris. Although these are just projections by media outlets (nothing is official until the members of the Electoral College cast their votes on Dec. 14th, 2020, then announced by a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021), & although there will be a lot of lawsuits brought forth by Donald Trump who will not concede anytime soon (or ever?), it’s obvious that it’s OVER- Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the United States. At this time, I would like to encourage everyone, no matter who you voted for, to behave with some class; to speak & act with some empathy. This country has been consumed by a toxic polarity- it is time for that toxicity to end, because it is not sustainable & it does not accomplish anything. We are all tired. We all have strong feelings. It is time to act like adults with correctly calibrated moral compasses. My feelings about President Trump (& politicians in general, for that matter) are well known, but I have zero reason to gloat. That is childish, & it accomplishes nothing. Instead I will choose to act with empathy, & hope that some level of civility will return to American discourse across the board. I just came back from a “Stop the Steal” rally near the VA State Capitol, where I shot these photos. No one was rude to me, & they announced from the beginning that it would be a peaceful protest- that is their right, & although I disagree with them, I support their right- they are my countrymen & women. These people are going to be very upset today- I will show people like this empathy in the hope that we can find common ground somehow, & that this terrible atmosphere that has hung over America for the last 4 years will begin to lift. It HAS to, or we all are screwed. Please- let’s all start talking to each other again. I hope you all have a good day- now, I’m going surfing. Peace. #Leica #LeicaCamera #LeicaCameraUSA #LeicaM #LeicaM10P #LeicaM10Ptyp3656 #🔴📷 #Summilux #Summilux50mm #LeicaCraft #MadeInWetzlar #drandallblythe #RatsEyesPhotography #honetheaesthetic

Congratulations to President Elect Joe Biden and trailblazer Kamala Harris !!! It’s been hard for me to stay silent over the last few days, weeks, months, but I felt it would be wrong to interfere in even the smallest way in the politics of another country. But there is a part of me that will always be rooted in the USA – I love America and have felt profound pain watching its freedoms and decency being eroded. I can now finally speak up. I feel massive joy – I see this is a victory for the people by the people – and hopefully just in time to make it possible to start to heal the terrible damage that has been done to the American Nation and its standing in the World in recent times. I’m thrilled for my dear American friends, that they have taken this step to reclaim compassion, justice, truth, accountability, and dignity. I’m well aware that America is split as to whether Trump as a president was a Champ or a Chump. But what you guys will discover over the next few weeks is that the rest of the world was NOT split. The whole world, like me, is rejoicing with you at this moment – feeling that we are getting our best friend back – our friend America. Yes – I will pray for unity and decent debate, with some great Rebublicans sharing the work load in the new regime. And – Yes – at last – the United States of America can again be Champions of the World !!! Bri
