The L.I.F.E. Project (Stone Sour, Paralandra) To Pay Tribute To Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, & Anthrax On New EP “Big F.O.U.R.”

The L.I.F.E. Project, the band featuring Stone Sour’s Josh Rand and Paralandra’s Casandra Carson, will be releasing a new covers EP, titled “Big F.O.U.R.,“ on March 18. The effort will feature covers of Slayer’s “South Of Heaven,” Anthrax’s “Caught In A Mosh,” Megadeth’s “Symphony Of Destruction,” and Metallica’s “One.”

Rand commented:

“Recording a Big F.O.U.R. cover EP is something that I have wanted to do for a very very long time, and last Fall I decided to finally do it with The L.I.F.E. Project. Without these four bands (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer) my musical career wouldn’t be where it is today. In some ways you could say this project is paying homage to them or, how I see it, a return to where it all started in my parents house as a teenager trying to learn just a piece of the music.

Each of the four songs that I picked were pivotal in my development as a musician. Whether it was learning the intro to ‘One‘ on guitar, drums on ‘Symphony [Of Destruction‘] or bass lines in ‘Caught in A Mosh‘. This EP was a true love and passion project for myself. I feel I captured the vibe and the spirit of the original but with The L.I.F.E. Project sound. Hopefully you hear it too!”

The effort’s first single, a cover of Anthrax’s “Caught In A Mosh,” can be found below. Rand added the following about that:

“‘Among The Living‘ is a top three album of all-time for me, so covering ‘Caught In A Mosh‘ was a no brainer for us to do.”

Carson continued:

“‘Caught In A Mosh‘ has an infectious energy to it, and I’m absolutely stoked with how it turned out.”

The L.I.F.E. Project (Stone Sour, Paralandra) Premiere “Worthwhile” Lyric Video

The L.I.F.E. Project, the band featuring Josh Rand (Stone Sour) and Casandra Carson (Paralandra), have premiered a lyric video for their song “Worthwhile.” That track appears on their debut self-titled EP. Rand commented:

“When I started writing music for what would become The L.I.F.E. Project, it was about trying new things in the creative process. Writing songs on piano for the first time was refreshing and exciting. I’m really proud of how all three piano songs turned out, ‘Worthwhile’ being my favorite.”

The L.I.F.E. Project (Stone Sour, Paralandra) Premiere New Song “A World On Fire”

The L.I.F.E. Project, the band featuring Josh Rand (Stone Sour) and Casandra Carson (Paralandra), have premiered a new song titled “A World On Fire.” This track is from their debut self-titled EP, which will be released on July 9.

Rand commented:

“When I started working on the music for ‘A World On Fire’, the idea I envisioned was to take the listener to different places within the song. From the main guitar riff to double time pre choruses to the soundscaping in the choruses. The hardest part when writing a song like that is to make sure it doesn’t feel forced or choppy and all the parts are cohesive. I feel we achieved that.”

Carson added:

“This song is one giant metaphor for wanting to permanently log off of social media. After watching a documentary about how addictive it is and the negative impacts it has on mental health, I started realizing how much time, mental and emotional energy I was spending on it. Ever since then, I’ve started realizing I don’t need the validation of getting likes and comments to measure my happiness or self-worth.”
