Both tracks will appear on the band’s new album “Bodies,” which is set to be released on June 11. “Dulcería” was co-written by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and Davey Havok says it “suggests, if you spend too much time in the candy store you may end up stuck to the floor.” Jade Puget added:

“Billy and I have a great creative connection when we’re writing together. It was inspiring to work with such a talented and legendary songwriter and ‘Dulcería‘ is a testament to that.”

AFI Premiere New Songs “Looking Tragic” And “Begging For Trouble”

AFI have premiered two new songs, “Looking Tragic” and “Begging For Trouble.” Both tracks will appear on the band’s new album “Bodies,” which is set to be released on June 11. They will also be available as a limited edition 7 inch on May 28.

Davey Havok said the following about “Looking Tragic”:

“‘Looking Tragic‘ addresses the theme of overstimulation resulting in desensitisation. Melodic and driving, the song came to life quickly and immediately stood out as a track to make bodies, if not sentiments, move.”

Adam Carson added the following about “Begging For Trouble“:

“After years of receiving early versions of songs from Jade and Davey, in forms that span loosely arranged chords and scratch vocal to fully realised demos, I think I have become quite adept at knowing which songs will or will not make the record. ‘Begging For Trouble‘ was green lit, at least in my mind, the moment I heard the vocals come in. To me, the track is a cornerstone of the new record.”

Drowning Pool’s CJ Pierce Says The Band Want To Get 82-Year-Old “America’s Got Talent” Contestant John Hetlinger Onstage With Them

An 82-year-old America’s Got Talent contestant named John Hetlinger made headlines when he covered Drowning Pool‘s “Bodies” on the show. CJ Pierce has since talked to Artisan News Service, and said that the band are trying to get in touch with him, so he can sing the track onstage with them.

Pierce said the following:

“We’re going to get in touch with John, we’re going to have him up onstage with us at some point before the end of this year. I know it’s going to be happen, we gotta have him out there doing it live with us, that’ll be awesome.”

“We gotta get him on like a big festival in front of a lot of people. We definitely need to find, pick the right place and time for it. I’m looking forward to meet him and again we do appreciate, we’re flattered that he sang the song, I think he did a killer job. I was entertained, I’m still cracking up over it.”

He also talked to Loudwire, and said Chicago Open Air might be a good place for Hetlinger to perform:

“That would be great if he could do that [perform with the band]. I still have a flood of emails and texts that I have not even gone through yet, but I’m hoping. The feelers are out there and I think it would be fun. Obviously he had a great time with the song and we have a great time with the song every night so it would be awesome to have him onstage with us. I just mentioned Open Air because it’s the next big festival coming up that we’re playing and if we’re going to do it, I’d rather do it right and have him on a big show like that. So I’m hoping he does. We’d love to get in touch with him or hope he gets in touch with us and I’m looking forward to meeting him anyway. He just seems like a great guy anyway, working on the Hubble telescope and everything, that’s freaking cool. And he was a Navy pilot. Good for him.”
