Drowning Pool, Ill Niño, (hed)p.e., And Evolution Empire Postpone Fall U.S. Tour

Drowning Pool, Ill Niño, (hed)p.e. and Evolution Empire have postponed their fall U.S. tour. The trek is currently being rescheduled for 2022.

The following statement was issued:

“We regret to announce that the Brothers In Arms Tour is being postponed.

The escalating costs, logistics and risk of moving a multi-band tour like Drowning Pool, Ill Nino, HED PE and Evolution Empire from city to city while adhering to ever-changing local mandates and recommendations unfortunately poses too many concerns to be sure we can fulfill the entire tour as planned.

The tour is currently being rescheduled for March/April 2022, and complete details will be announced in the coming days. Please hold onto your tickets, as they will be good for the new dates.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we look forward to seeing you all on the road when we can celebrate twenty years of music and friendship in the safest way possible.

Thank you,

Drowning Pool / Ill Nino / HED PE / Evolution Empire“

Drowning Pool Announce 20th Anniversary Vinyl Pressing Of “Sinner”

Drowning Pool will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2001 album “Sinner” by releasing it on vinyl for the first time. The record will be available on September 17 and it can be pre-ordered HERE.

Jasen Moreno commented:

“‘Sinner‘ is literally perfect. I remember hearing and seeing it all come together. We shared the local Dallas scene back then—Drowning Pool and an old band I used to be in—and I’d like to say we kept each other honest and made each other better through competition… but it was never even close.

Dave [Williams] and the guys were the dudes shaping the scene. I shared many stages with Drowning Pool before I was ever their lead singer, and I remember feeling hyped after each performance. I remember believing we’d finally upstaged them. I would have that hope right up until they took the stage and began to play, and then the truth was evident—Dave, Stevie, C.J., and Mike were always multiple steps ahead of any other band on the scene.

The ‘Sinner‘ album was magic, and the guys were on fire. I believe that the record is perfect as a whole, full of catchy hooks both vocally and musically. I heard and saw those songs before a million other people around the world did, and I knew back then that Drowning Pool was destined to win. It feels crazy to go from a hater to their frontman, but let that be my testimony to the undeniable force that remains ‘Sinner‘.”

Mike Luce continued:

“To be here marking twenty years of ‘Sinner‘ is just mind-blowing. There are so many memories of this record that I’ll carry for life. It would require a book to properly express all that’s in my head and heart and all that led up to and came out of its release. As a kid growing up and playing drums, I dreamed of being in a band with my buds and maybe someday putting out a record. Well, we did – and it kicked ass! Thanks to all that allowed this messed-up, work-in-progress of a soul to live a dream.”

C.J. Pierce added:

“I can’t believe it’s been two decades since we introduced the world to ‘let the bodies hit the floor’ and helped teach young kids and parrots around the world to count to four. Some of the greatest times and best memories of my life are from when ‘Sinner‘ came out, so this vinyl release is really special. We can’t wait to see everyone out at the shows again, and we’re looking forward to rocking all these songs, and our newest songs live!”

Drowning Pool Working On New Album

It looks like Drowning Pool have started the writing process for their follow-up to “Hellelujah.” The band confirmed the news during a recent chat with 97.1 The Eagle.

C.J. Pierce said the following:

“We’re working on new songs right now, which is awesome. We’re working on tunes for the next record. We have a bunch of stuff on the plate. Everybody’s brought amazing stuff, material. The thing with this is just to try and go through and see what we’re gonna do on the next record. So we’ll hash out all the ideas and songs and then start narrowing it down. So it’s nice to have more than enough to go through.”

He also added the following when asked how the new material compares to “Hellelujah”:

“It’s just a continuation of that. I mean, it’s rock and roll. There’s a lot of different ideas, again, on the table, so it’s coming together. Jay [vocalist Jasen Moreno] and Steve [bassist Stevie Benton] bring a lot of lyrics to the table as of late as well. I love the double meanings in everything that we have. We’re getting deeper with the lyrics — deep tracks — so it’s getting there. [We’re] just evolving as a band, and it’s monumental. This next record with Jasen, it’s three records in [with the same singer] — the first time we’ve done that with anybody. So, obviously, we like Jay; he’s gonna stay around.”
