  • dead7 Premiere “Cannibal” Video

    dead7 have premiered a new video for their new song “Cannibal.” Vocalist Jason Kozik commented:

    “‘Cannibal‘ is a song that represents how someone with a mental disorder may feel. This song dives into the feelings and thoughts I’ve been dealt while battling major depressive disorder. No matter how well things are going in life or anything positive that’s been happening, there’s still that one thought in your head stopping yourself from enjoying life and the things in it. We wanted to find a good balance between the heavier side of our instrumentals while including a few newer things for us.”

  • Vana Premieres “Bleeding Heart” Music Video

    Vana has premiered a new video for her new song “Bleeding Heart.” The singer commented:

    “The song began with the flower itself, ‘Bleeding Heart’ or ‘Lamprocapnos spectabilis’. This song showcases how feelings grow like flowers do; beautiful but destined to wither. Perhaps that’s pessimistic, but flowers blossom just to die in winter, and they do it every year. I think there’s a sort of beauty in that. This song and video further explores a world of oppression and betrayal. Adah can’t hold us both. Hail Mara.”

  • The Offspring, Pennywise, Circle Jerks, Etc. Announce Benefit Show For T.S.O.L.’s Mike Roche

    A benefit show has been announced for T.S.O.L.’s Mike Roche, who is currently battling Parkinson’s disease and dementia. The event will be held at the GARDEN AMP in Garden Grove, CA on November 7 and it will feature: The Offspring, Pennywise, Circle Jerks, Adolescents, Guttermouth, Change Today, Mainliners, Death By Stereo, Love Canal, and Dissension. A GoFundMe has also been launched.

    Pennywise’s Fletcher Dragge commented:

    “Mike Roche is basically the reason I’m playing in a punk band. T.S.O.L. was the first ‘real’ punk show I ever attended and after watching Roche and the band play, I decided there and then I was going to be in a band. He’s been a huge part of the punk scene for more than 40 years, and he’s influenced countless musicians, and more than that, he’s a great person and friend.

    When we heard what he’s been going through, and how much he needs right now, everybody decided we needed to do something. The Offspring were the first to step up and offer their help. This lineup is a bunch of bands and friends from the punk rock community coming together to help one of our own. It’s gonna be a great night for a great human. Special thanks to the Garden Amphitheatre for offering their venue up, 100% free of charge to accommodate everyone and help the cause.”

    The Offspring’s Noodles continued:

    “Without T.S.O.L. there would be no Offspring. Mike Roche’s bass playing is a huge part of the reason why. His style is just so badass and cool. Over the years, we went from fans of his to friends. So when we heard he needed our help, we jumped at the chance to pitch in. A lot of people from the punk scene felt the same way, and this benefit concert was put together. It’s gonna be an amazing show, with a bunch of incredible bands, and it’s gonna help out an old friend. Let’s f#ckin’ go!”

    Shepard Fairey, who designed a commemorative print for the concert, added:

    “T.S.O.L. had every ingredient a 16-year-old skate punk could want… attitude, speed, irreverence, melody, and even some thought-provoking lyrics. Mike Roche contributed one of those lyrics: ‘wake up silent majority,’ and it has been one of my rallying cries ever since. Mike started as an inspiration, became a friend, and now is a friend in need who I want to support.”

    Rosetta have revealed that they will be releasing their final album, “Temporal Lapse,” on November 27. The following was said about the record:

    “Loosely structured around the five-stage model of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance), it meditates on losses both personal and collective.”

  • Institute To Reissue “Distort Yourself” On CD And Vinyl

    Institute, the band featuring Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Chris Traynor (Bush), Cache Tolman (Rival Schools), and Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, ex-Foo Fighters), will be reissuing “Distort Yourself” on premium CD Digipak and vinyl on November 6. The album can be pre-ordered HERE. Rossdale commented:

  • Anberlin Premiere New Song “Gravity”

    Anberlin have premiered a new song titled “Gravity.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Currency,” which will be released on November 11. Vocalist Matty Mullins said the following about the single:

    “’Gravity’ is about coming to terms with the fact that our time here is limited and choosing to live in a way that leaves nothing unsaid and nothing undone. It wrestles with the weight of mortality, but ultimately finds peace in letting go of fear and embracing the people, moments, and purpose that matter most.”

  • Ignea Recruit Combichrist For New Song “Prefab”

    Ignea have premiered a new video for their new song “Prefab.” The track, which features Combichrist, is from the band’s new album, “Monumental,” which will be released on October 23.

    Vocalist Helle Bohdanova commented:

    “‘Prefab‘ reflects on the darker side of nostalgia — prefabricated socialist buildings, originally meant to give everyone a roof over their heads. But like many socialist ideals, the concept was flawed at its core: Uniform, industrial, stripping people of individuality and personal choice, making them feel like ants inside their own homes. Remnants of this architecture still stand across Europe — from Ukraine and Poland, from Germany to France — and while people may recall personal memories of them, that nostalgia is often bittersweet at best, rooted in poverty and authoritarian regime.

    As Ukrainians from a post-Soviet country, we grew up surrounded by the physical remains of a system that promised a bright future and delivered the opposite. What’s stranger is that even knowing how flawed it was, many people still feel a pull toward certain parts of Soviet life. And it’s not just us — plenty of Westerners romanticize Soviet aesthetics too, nostalgic for a past they never lived.

    In the ‘Prefab‘ video, we wanted to convey the feeling of a confined, uniform space, a cramped room representing a typical Soviet apartment, where only the tenants ever change.

    When we shaped the demo around ‘Prefab,’ we were basically hearing Andy‘s vocals in the back of our minds, and we’re so glad he agreed to lend his voice. Having Combichrist as part of the industrial metal banger on our upcoming album — what could be more iconic?

  • Rise Against And Alkaline Trio Cover Each Other’s Songs

    Rise Against and Alkaline Trio have released a new split EP. The effort features Rise Against’s cover of Alkaline Trio’s “Private Eye” and Alkaline Trio’s cover of Rise Against’s “Re-Education (Through Labor).” 7 inch vinyl pressings can be pre-ordered HERE.

    Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba commented:

    “It’s so much fun and such an honor to be swapping cover tunes with a band we’ve known personally and loved since we both formed and came up from our shows at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago. To see Rise Against become the band they are today has been a blast to track and to be a small part of through the years. To reconnect with this band and these people once again the way are via tour and this release feels the way it did when we first started: it’s almost completely for the love of each other and each other’s band. It feels like a tradition we started decades ago that naturally comes back to us, we are grateful to say.”

We started out as a backyard party band and this is us just goofing around having fun on the Fourth of July having a backyard party and barbecue with close friends and family, still.
