• VOLA Lose Most Of Their Gear In Fire

A fire recently broke out at storage facility in Copenhagen, DK. Notably, the complex included a unit housing VOLA’s gear, most of which was lost in the blaze.

The band issued the following statement:

“Help us rebuild after total gear loss.

Last week, a fire broke out at Nettolager, a storage facility in Copenhagen. The section of the complex where our unit was located was completely burned down. Everyone is safe, but everything that allowed us to function as a band is gone.

Most of our VOLA equipment was stored there. This was the whole infrastructure behind VOLA. Instruments, touring rigs, audio and monitoring systems, recording equipment, merch, vinyl, and years of accumulated tools built specifically for this project. Among the items lost are those that cannot be replaced, not to mention the immense time it takes to build these racks and systems.

Members of our crew lost essential tools required to do their work. Rebuilding even a minimal live setup also means enabling our front-of-house team to continue working and earning a living. This project has always been bigger than the people on stage.

We have set up a GoFundMe and any support will go directly toward replacing essential gear, rebuilding the live system, and getting us ready to play live again.

If you want to support us, the best ways are to buy tickets, buy merchandise, or contribute here if you are able. Sharing this page also helps more than you think.

We are deeply grateful for every message, every share, and every form of support.
Thank you for helping us keep VOLA moving forward.

  • Anthrax Film New Music Video

Anthrax recently filmed a music video for one of the tracks on their upcoming album. Drummer Charlie Benante said the following about that shoot:

“We shot a video yesterday for a new song “ it’s *** *** ****” , it’s a bit of a throw back to another video. I couldn’t help but have a little fun with some friends who showed up. I want to thank them for being there and being a part of a very long and cold day. We had some fun with a sing along @kissonline @judaspriest #watchthebeat #charliebeatthebeatsthebeatsyoubeat @anthrax new album coming in 26 #happyholidays #doyouloveme #iloveitloud”

    Guitarist Scott Ian added:

“Album is done. First video is shot. Thank you all for braving the cold with us to make something killer! A great day for all of us! So much more Anthrax coming in 2026! Until then have a great holiday!”

  • Kirk Windstein Says Down’s New Album Will Be Released “Around September-ish” 2026

During a recent appearance on the Pod Scum podcast, Down’s Kirk Windstein offered an update on the band’s new album. According to him, the effort will likely arrive “around September-ish” next year. Windstein said the following:

“Yes. Later than sooner, but I don’t really see why it can’t get out, say, by September, around September-ish. Because Down’s on Nuclear Blast, along with [Corrosion Of Conformity], who have an amazing new record coming out April 2nd. So we can’t put Down, even if it’s ready, we can’t put it out too close to that. And the label’s not gonna wanna do that anyway. We wouldn’t do it anyway. But C.O.C. needs to come out and let everybody get blown away for a good bit. And when the water settles a little bit, we fucking give ’em a double whammy and throw out the Down.”

  • Sick Of It All’s Lou Koller On His Cancer Battle: “I’m Kind Of At A Stalemate”

Sick Of It All frontman Lou Koller has shared a new health update amid his battle with cancer. According to him, he is currently “at a stalemate.”

    Koller said the following:

“Hey, everybody. What’s up? It’s Lou. It’s been a while. To give you an update, there’s not really much to tell. The treatments are going okay. They’re not really doing much. I’m kind of at a stalemate where the tumors aren’t growing and they’re not spreading, but they’re not shrinking either. So the plan is to keep going with the treatments and see what happens. And after that, we’ll make a new plan.

I wanna take this opportunity to thank my brother Matt and my sister-in-law Connie for taking such good care of me, letting me live in their house and helping me through this. I wanna thank all of you for all the positive messages, the prayers and all of the well wishes. Thank you very much. Keep ’em coming, keep ’em coming. And I hope y’all have a great Christmas and a happy New Year. I hope next year’s better year for all of us. Take care of each other, all right?! See you around.”
