Local H said the following:
“Well, this is news to us. Especially since we were in the process of acquiring the rights from the label for our own official reissue. But —y’know— who the fuck are we, right? (By the way — the remaster we commissioned sounds terrific. Too bad no one will get to hear it.)”
Enjoy The Ride Records then responded:
“@local_h we are very sorry you were not aware as we messaged you guys over a year ago about this to get you involved. I just got off a call with your manager to discuss this given the circumstances in hopes we can work something out that makes sense for everyone involved as In no way was this intentionally hid from you as we always try to get the artists involved best we can when they are active and want to be. please check your dms as we messaged you a year ago.”
The band later added:
“You might have heard the news yesterday about a certain reissue of a certain record. Well, it was certainly news to us. But there’s no use in pointing fingers — let’s just concentrate on the GOOD news! The OFFICIAL release of the long awaited 30th anniversary vinyl edition of AS GOOD AS DEAD will be available to get in your hot little hands —DIRECTLY from us! Ovtlier have released a new cover of Cypress Hill’s “(Rock) Superstar.” A video for the track, which features Hyro The Hero and Cypress Hill’s own Sen Dog, can be found below:
Ovtlier vocalist Joey Arena commented:
“‘Superstar‘ was more influential to me than I had realized in my youth. Growing up, there wasn’t a Rap, Rock or Pop station that wasn’t playing this song… we would blast this track like it was the only song that had existed for months.”
“I never believed a band should have one specific sound. I always heard from so many industry reps that I needed to find my ‘identity’ when my identity was doing whatever the fuck I wanted. An artist is meant to grow, push boundaries and experiment… ‘Superstar‘ was just that for me — a staple in the fusion of the genres it portrays.”
“I wanted to cover this song not only cause it’s nostalgic, but because of the genre blending it represents. I have incorporated some ‘white boy rap’ in previous tracks, but this got to showcase a whole different side and my love for Hip Hop.”
“What could bring a more authentic stamp of approval than getting the iconic Sen Dog of Cypress Hill on the track? It was such an honor to have him not only feature on the track but get him to appear in the video. He stuck it out all day with us… Such an awesome and down to earth individual that deserves all the recognition.”
Chat Pile have released a new 7″ single via Sub Pop. The effort features a new song titled “Masks” and a cover of Nirvana’s “Sifting.” Both tracks are available digitally as well. You can stream those below:

The Anderson, SC date of Kid Rock’s Rock The Country festival has now been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” This news comes after Shinedown, Ludacris, etc. pulled out of the event.
The Anderson County Administrator told Fox Carolina the following about the cancellation:
“Anderson County has been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. The event was a huge success drawing tens of thousands of visitors, making a multi-million-dollar economic impact on the Upstate. An event of this caliber proved what a great venue and exceptional hospitality we have here in Anderson County. Of course, we are disappointed that Rock the Country will not return to Anderson this year.
We are already planning additional major events and look forward to exciting announcements to come. Anderson County is committed to bringing high quality arts and entertainment to our community.”
The remaining dates are expected to continue as planned. However, the festival has proven to be controversial due to its MAGA-leaning lineup.
The S.E.T. have parted ways with guitarist Brady Ebert. This news comes after he recently blasted his former band Turnstile.
The S.E.T. commented:
“Brady is no longer a member of THE S.E.T. We will not stand by his ridiculous comments and behavior toward the members of our band and our community. We will continue to put on for Baltimore hardcore and thank everyone for their support.”
Ebert has since responded as well:
“Have no clue what statements “The set” (self evident truth— a name I came up with btw) but I haven’t made any statements about anyone except turnstile that arent completely true
Ive been blocked from the bands instagram for about a week and thought it was deleted until yesterday. And have texted with band members as recent as a day or two ago but they haven’t attempted to contact me”
