‘Arson Theory is really the byproduct of two people with very different perspectives coming together and realizing there was an opportunity to build something better. Eddie and I have been friends for a long time, and over the years we would constantly compare what his bands were experiencing in heavy music with what my clients were receiving in the pop, rap, and dance worlds, especially around distribution, publishing and creative support,’ recalled co-founder Almasi.
‘I saw a gap between complete DIY independence and the traditional label system. Artists shouldn’t have to choose between doing everything themselves and giving up ownership, flexibility, or a large portion of their economics just to receive meaningful support. Publishing was similar, I wanted to bring the kind of creative development, collaboration and opportunity I had seen in other genres into heavy music.’
Being created by industry-professionals, Arson Theory’s thoughtful infrastructure is no accident. Co-founder and lead vocalist for Suicide Silence and All Shall Perish, Hermida explains, ‘Arson Theory is a project that never in my wildest dreams I could have imagined I’d be a part of. Ultimately, I’m a musician that has had a rough time with the ‘industry’ so I approached this project carefully. Now a year-and-a-half later, I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to help boost the trajectory of someone’s career.
We care about the musician and that is what I believe makes this label so special. It has artists keeping the balance behind the scenes and representing for the artist before any idea comes to fruition. It has managers fed up with red tape working to make things more streamlined.
