Dance Gavin Dance Guitarist Will Swan’s Blue Swan Records Partners With Rise Records/BMG

Will Swan (Dance Gavin Dance) has announced that his label Blue Swan Records have partnered with Rise Records/BMG. The deal will help the label “expand operations and provide a greater platform to sign, develop and promote artists from within the post-hardcore and heavy experimental scene.”

Swan commented:

“I’m really excited to work with BMG to continue to build the budding scene for post-hardcore and experimental heavy music. There is a lot of exciting music being made right now and it’s an honor to be able to provide a platform to expose artists from culturally and musically diverse backgrounds, whom I really believe in, to a larger audience whilst continuing to legitimize Blue Swan’s presence in the scene.”

Rise Records/BMG Vice President Sean Heydorn added:

“Will and Sergio [Medina, Blue Swan Records Vice President] have created something really special. They’ve put art and creativity first and the result has been an eclectic catalog of fantastic releases which we will quickly add to with some great albums coming this year. Having worked with Will for over 13 years, it’s been awesome watching him develop BSR from the ground up. We are honored they chose us to partner with them and help them and their artists continue to grow.”

Eidola, Royal Coda, and Wolf & Bear are expected to release new music via Blue Swan Records later this year.

Spiritbox Partner With Rise Records, Plan To Release 7″ Vinyl Pressing Of “Holy Roller”

Spiritbox have reached a new partnership agreement with Rise Records through their label Pale Chord Music. With this news, the band have also announced that they will be releasing their latest single “Holy Roller” on 7″ vinyl. That effort will be available on December 4 and it will come with the original track and a remix that was done by Crystal Lake’s Ryo Kinoshita. The remix will also be released digitally on October 2. Pre-orders can be found HERE.

Courtney LaPlante said the following about partnering with Rise Records:

“We have always dreamed of partnering with a label that embraces our DIY mentality and respects our independence, a label that understands immediately what we want to accomplish and how we want to get there.

It has been surreal getting to know the team at Rise Records, never feeling like we have to be anything other than our authentic selves. They are not some monolithic corporation, but individuals with a passion for music. They understand us and allow us to just be Spiritbox, now with the resources and guidance that we have always wanted. I keep thinking I am going to wake up from some fever dream and it was all in my head.

To our fans. We are so excited to celebrate this milestone with you. We know how hard you have worked to spread the word about our band and we are so grateful for the time, energy and belief you have invested in us. We understand that with more resources comes higher expectations. We will not let you down, I promise!”

Rise Records’ Sean Heydorn added:

“We’re very excited to welcome Spiritbox to the Rise Records family and kick off this partnership with Pale Chord. The band caught our attention some time ago, and watching their exponential growth throughout an otherwise tough year for artists has been really inspiring. Despite all the band have already accomplished and done with Pale Chord, we feel it’s just the beginning.”

Like Moths To Flames Part Ways With Rise Records

During a chat on the BREWtally Speaking Podcast, Like Moths To Flames vocalist Chris Roetter confirmed that the band are no longer on Rise Records. Despite this, the group have been demoing new material lately.

Roetter said the following:

“This is actually the first time that the band’s been doing adequate demos. Like we would do ‘oh, man, check out this riff with these shitty drums.’ We actually paid our own money, went and did some demos.

So we’re actually taking the writing very seriously this time. We’re actually not on Rise anymore. This is the first time we are gonna be doing… not something on our own, we’re just kinda in-between right now.

…What I’d said about ‘Dying Things‘, about how we feel about the last few releases was just an extension of that, unfortunately, where… I’m not trying to blow up anybodies spot, but I personally feel like we were backburnered a little bit.

We’re an easy band to please, cause we do a lot of things ourselves. So it’s like when we ask for minimal things, that was us getting help. Instead of it helping the band, it was like ‘welp here’s us giving you aid and that’s it.’

So I think for us it’s kinda lit a fire to be the best that we can be. Having new members definitely makes it easier. People would be like Moths has had 7-8 members, is it hard? It’s like no, because people keep leaving that made it hard.

Then we bring in people who are ambitious about the band, who want to grind and write… It’s almost like let me prove my worth type of thing. The dudes have gone way beyond that.”

He continued:

“So this time around, we’re not even planned on doing a record, and we already got 7-8 songs written, and 3 of them are professionally recorded.

They’ve got production, they’ve got ear candy, they’re properly engineered. Not just us doing them in our garage.

So it’s just like kind of us making sure we got the ammunition for when we do start to figure out where the bands gonna go, what we’re gonna do after this tour.”
