Back in September, Vice reported that GWAR were recruited to help destroy a “Rick And Morty” themed bar in Washington D.C. after it was forced to close down following a cease-and-desist from Turner Broadcasting. Now, the article has been updated with an official video, which you can see below. As previously reported, GWAR apparently appeared in the pilot episode of that series in 2013.
As GWAR themselves have pointed out, the late Oderus Urungus and Beefcake The Mighty apparently made a cameo in the pilot episode of “Rick In Morty” back in 2013. You can see a photo of that in the below tweet. This isn’t the only time GWAR have had a connection with the show either. The band also recently helped destroy a “Rick And Morty” themed bar in Washington D.C. after it was forced to close down following a cease-and-desist from Turner Broadcasting. You can read more about that and see some photos over at Vice.
Last night’s episode of “Rick And Morty” featured a metal version of the them song during the credits. This version was recorded by producer/musician Jason Suecof, who has worked with Trivium, Chimaira, etc., and Good Tiger drummer Alex Rüdinger, Check that out below:
