August Burns Red Share New Version Of “Pangaea” Featuring Periphery’s Misha Mansoor

August Burns Red have shared a new version of their song “Pangaea.” This track features Periphery’s Misha Mansoor and it will appear on the new re-recorded version of “Leveler,” which is set to be released on May 21. More details on the updated take on the album can be found HERE. Guitarist JB Brubaker commented:

“‘Pangaea‘ has always been one of my favorite tracks on ‘Leveler‘. It may be the most progressive song on the album so it felt like a natural fit to have Misha from Periphery perform on the track. He delivered quite possibly the most head-spinning guitar solo that we’ve ever had on an ABR song. We’re very excited to share this new version of ‘Pangaea‘ with everyone, and think fans are going to appreciate the song on a whole new level.”

“‘Leveler‘ is a record we’ve always been proud of, and we wanted to do something special for its ten-year anniversary. We’ve done some cool remix projects for previous albums when they’ve turned 10, but with ‘Leveler‘, we decided to kick things up a notch. COVID has kept us off the road for such a long time that we found ourselves with a rare opportunity to take on this unique project.

We dove into this record and dissected the songs, rewriting solos, changing the tunings, adding new textures and elements, and got a few of our friends to do some guest spots as well. Our longtime producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland handled the recording/mixing and helped us take ‘Leveler‘ to new sonic heights. I think this is the best-sounding ABR record we’ve ever made, and it’s going to allow people to experience the record in a whole new way. I can’t wait to share this with everyone.”

Periphery’s Misha Mansoor To Release 10 Albums Worth Of Material From His Early Bulb Project

Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor has announced that he will be releasing 10 albums worth of material from his early project Bulb. The records will be released on a bi-weekly basis via 3DOT Recordings.

Mansoor commented:

“Diving back into the Bulb archives is something that I’ve wanted to do for years. As I began working on what will be a new Bulb album I was reminded of this vast library of unreleased music, music that has only been previously available by seeking out bits and pieces on various forums and media channels.

Presenting it in a context that both echoes my original intent with the songs grouped from the time period they were recorded in as well as making it easier for fans to find and enjoy was the driving motivation behind completing this massive undertaking.”

Here’s the release schedule:

June 12: “Archives: Volume 8“
June 26: “Archives: Volume 7“
July 10: “Archives: Volume 6“
July 24: “Archives: Volume 5“
August 07: “Orchestral“
August 21: “Archives: Volume 4“
September 04: “Archives: Volume 3“
September 18: “Archives: Volume 2“
October 02: “Archives: Volume 1“
