Cynic have released “Focus: The Official Drum And Bass Tracks” via Bandcamp. As the name suggests, the effort features the late Sean Malone and Sean Reinert’s isolated bass and drum tracks from “Focus.” Guitarist/vocalist Paul Masvidal said the following about the release:
“These tracks let you sit inside what feels like an intimate conversation between two master musicians. Malone and Reinert created a foundation that remains vividly alive, existing in its own realm. This release honors their legacy and offers a glimpse into the heartbeat that carried ‘Focus’. And for drummers and bass players out there, it is a master class in progressive metal rhythm section work from true visionaries.”

“The title song — a crisp ‘I’m fed up and sick of everything!’ Simply a respawn of the good old Do It My Way — and if you get in my way, I’ll run you over and drop a building on you. A feel-good song for everyone who’s had enough!”

Unto Others have announced a new EP titled “I Believe In Halloween II.” The effort will be released on October 17 and its first single, “What I Did…,” can be found below:
“I Believe In Halloween II” Track Listing:

02. “What I Did…“
03. “Robots“
04. “Halloween“ (Misfits cover)
05. “ Pet Sematary“ (Ramones cover)
The band commented on the new songs:
“In ‘They Came From Space‘, man searches the skies for traces of life beyond, only to find cold infinite empty space in every direction. There’s just one place we didn’t think to check…
‘What I Did…‘ He’s just a cool dude looking for a good time. Out all night getting trashed with his friends, they could all use just one more drink. Who could it hurt?
In ‘Robots‘, dream becomes nightmare as the line between realities is violently severed by sinister electrical android automatons!”
BABYMETAL and Poppy have shared a new live video for their collaborative track “From Me To U.” You can check that out below. The clip was filmed during a concert at The O2 Arena in London, England on May 30. The track is from BABYMETAL’s latest album “Metal Forth.”
Pallbearer have shared an official video for “Watcher In The Dark” from the “2025 Redux” edition of their 2014 album “Foundations Of Burden.” That effort will receive a digital release on November 7 and a physical release on December 5. The sonically reconstructed record was mixed by Mario Quintero (Spotlights) and mastered by Adam Gonsalves.
The group commented:
“While ‘Foundations of Burden‘ has always been dear to us, and in many ways helped define our “sound” as a band, its recording and mixing sessions were ‘troubled.’ Though we stand by the legacy of what was created back in 2014, we had always hoped to revisit it and unveil more of the performances from the four of us that had been sonically obscured as we tried our hardest to make the best of what we had given the adverse circumstances.
This new version doesn’t replace the original — it offers a different way to experience an album we remain extremely proud of, and the overwhelming majority of what you will hear on this reissue is from the original performances at the now-defunct Type Foundry studio in Portland, OR. In order to achieve our sonic goals in 2025, Devin and Brett each painstakingly re-tracked a single foundational layer of rhythm guitars, captured via our own treasured collection of tube amplifiers, microphones, and outboard gear. The end result is a recasting of the record that we believe sounds heavier, clearer and more expansive than ever before.”
