The Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala: “No More ‘Unc’ Rock At The End Of ‘Alien: Earth’ Episodes”
If you watched the first season of “Alien: Earth,” you may have noticed that each episode ends with a track from a rock/metal artist. Among the bands featured were Metallica, Tool, Godsmack, Queens Of The Stone Age, etc. While the soundtrack was cool for metalheads, it appears not everyone was onboard with it. One of those critics was The Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who said the following:
“No more “Unc” rock at the end of alien earth episodes please. Fucking monster energy drink bullshit.”
He also had an exchange with a fan:
Fan: “Wait what’s wrong with Tool and QOTSA?“
Bixler-Zavala: “Nothing at all. It just doesn’t fit on that show. It feels like Nancy Reagan pushing her DARE agenda on me but with that kinda music”

“Spinal Tap At Stonehenge – The Final Finale” To Hit Theaters In 2026
Bleecker Street have acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Vertigo Live and “Spinal Tap At Stonehenge: The Final Finale.” The latter is a concert film that the band recorded at Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England. That set featured guest appearances from Shania Twain, Eric Clapton, and Josh Groban and it will hit theaters and IMAX in 2026. Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson commented:
“I’m told this is it. They’re really serious this time. While this is ostensibly the end, how fitting is it that this actual-probable-send-off is shot, historically, at Stonehenge, the mysterious landmark that we now know must have been erected thousands of years ago purely to serve as the setting for the last act of Spinal Tap.”
