• Son Of “This Is Spinal Tap” Director Rob Reiner Charged With Murdering His Parents

As previously reported, legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were recently killed in an apparent stabbing at their home in Brentwood, CA. Now, according to The New York Times, their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. A hearing was held today (December 16), but Nick was not medically cleared to attend. Notably, if convicted he could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole. Rob was known for his work on many iconic movies. However, the rock world knows him best for his film “This Is Spinal Tap.”

  • Amy Lee Confirms Evanescence’s New Album Will Be Released In 2026

Amy Lee has offered another update on Evanescence’s new album. According to her, the effort will be released in 2026.

Lee told KROQ‘s Kevin Ryder the following when asked about the possibility of a spring release:

“Yeah, let’s say that. [I have a] few more lyrics to write, but it’s going very well and I’m really excited about it.”

She also discussed the record further during a previous interview with Rolling Stone:

“It’s this massive body of work that we’ve been working on for a couple of years now. A lot of it’s recorded, some of it’s done and there’s lyrics left on a lot of songs where I have to find that perfect thing to say. Words are always important, but they feel particularly important right now as an artist in the world in our state of turmoil. It feels like an opportunity to put something good into the world, even if it’s just a way for people to relate, to speak about what’s true, and let it out. We need release. I need release.”

    She continued:

“It’ll be out early next year. I haven’t set a date because that’ll mess me up. I have to finish the words and the recording of the vocals, but we’re close and I’m very excited. Once that’s done, my head is going to be all about the tour.”

    She also added:

“I’m feeling some of the same inspiration level and love I felt when I was making ‘Fallen‘, but we’re different now. We’re better. The perspective of being able to see the past, present, and imagine the future all at the same time, has a different depth. I’ve been working with people that are about 10 years younger than me, and were inspired by ‘Fallen‘ and see it in a way that I couldn’t. There are certain pieces of us that I’m able to recognize again and look at with an out-of-body kind of love, which is helping us create something really special.”

  • Judge Dismisses Sexual Battery Lawsuit Filed By Marilyn Manson’s Former Assistant Once Again

According to Rolling Stone, the lawsuit filed against Marilyn Manson by his ex-assistant Ashley Walters has been dismissed once again. The complaint, which was revived following a previous dismissal, was initially filed for sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more.

Los Angeles Judge Steve Cochran said the case was not exempt from the statute of limitations and Walters’ claims of suppressed memories were not enough to revive it:

“We have a situation where the complaint was not filed until about 10 years after the operative events. I’m not able to find that the delayed discovery rule is applicable. I don’t have the authority to rule that the delayed discovery doctrine would apply under the circumstances that exist in this case.”

Walters‘ legal representative Kate McFarlane commented:

“We’re disappointed. We think this is the wrong decision. The delayed discovery rule is specifically to address situations where victims of sexual abuse deserve the ability to seek justice when their abuser has used tactics to prevent them from coming forward. This is something we see time and time again, and it seems the law hasn’t caught up to the science and what’s right for victims. But I don’t believe this is the end of the road.”

Manson‘s legal representative Howard King added:

“It’s gratifying, after all these years, that a judge can just look at the facts and see that once again, Brian Warner was wrongfully accused. It’s nice for him to get some justice, though it was at great personal cost. Now he can move on.”

As previously reported, Manson has been facing allegations from multiple women who came forward after being inspired by Evan Rachel Wood, who claimed that he “horrifically abused [her] for years.” Among those who shared their stories were Walters as well as Ashley Morgan Smithline, who accused him of sexual assault before recanting her statements, Esmé Bianco, who settled a lawsuit in which she accused him of abuse and human trafficking, Bianca Allaine Kyne, who filed a lawsuit after claiming he sexually assaulted her when she was a minor, and one unidentified woman, who settled a rape and death threat lawsuit.

For his part, Manson has continued to deny the allegations, while also lamenting the impact they have had on his career. He also filed a lawsuit against Wood for defamation, but has since been ordered to pay her legal fees. Despite all this, the L.A. District Attorney previously confirmed that Manson won’t be facing any criminal charges.

  • Shai Hulud Cancel January Australian/New Zealand Tour

Shai Hulud have officially cancelled their January 2026 Australian/New Zealand tour. According to the band, “ticket sales in some locations just didn’t come together in a way that made the risk manageable.”

    The band commented:

“We’re really sorry to share this.

After putting a lot of work into these shows, and despite members taking time off work and our agency running additional ads, ticket sales in some locations just didn’t come together in a way that made the risk manageable for us.

With heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Shai Hulud dates scheduled for January 2026.

We’re genuinely sorry to everyone who bought tickets and was excited to be there with us.
We were so looking forward to it.

All tickets will be fully refunded.

After a strong 2025, we want to keep building on that momentum and focus our energy on what helps Shai Hulud continue to exist and thrive.

One thing we want to share openly: for bands doing international tours, pre-sales matter a lot. If you love a band and plan to go, buying early truly helps make these tours possible. We have seen success by taking the risk and going out there trusting that our fans show up on the day that we play. And, they do, sometimes to our surprise.

But, with international flights being extremely costly and all of those costs coming up front it became a very difficult risk to manage for ourselves and our families.

Thank you for supporting live music, it means more than you know, and even more now.

    SHAI HULUD“
