New Miserable Experience (Rivers Of Nihil, ex-Revocation, etc.) have premiered a new song titled “Ataraxia.” That track is from the band’s new album, “Gild The Lily,” which will be released on January 23. The group commented:
“‘Ataraxia’ started as one of Brody’s ideas. We all felt it had a Portishead type of vibe that we instantly grabbed on to. As far as the lyrics, when life is falling apart the idea of ‘Ataraxia’ (calmness untroubled by mental or emotional disquiet) sounds very appealing.”
“This record, and the process of recording it, are both a testament to and a celebration of the firepower and dedication our band has for our music. It has vitriolic energy behind every vocal, soaring guitars relentlessly shredding, and that sinister tongue-in-cheek shit we specialize in. This will go down as our best work to date. Guaranteed.”
Guitarist/vocalist Trevor Reilly added:
“Our last album was more personal and earnestly poetic in our way, so the only place to go next lyrically was back down in the gutter where we thrive. We embraced our dark side on this one. Dove into sociopathy, personality disorders, concepts of evil, nature vs nurture… There are no good guys here.”
A video for the effort’s first single, “Midnight Ghost,” can be found below. Guitarist Ben Murray commented on that track:
“‘Midnight Ghost’ is definitely one of my favorite songs off the upcoming record. It has a darker mood while still hitting listeners with tons of intensity and energy. We all wrote this one together in Trevor’s studio, trading riffs and ideas naturally — it really captures the spirit of the record.”

Space Of Variations have premiered a new video for their new song “Ghost Town.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Poisoned Art,” which will be released on February 13. The group commented:
“‘Ghost Town’ is a about the feeling of waking up from a dream while still carrying it inside you—as if it were real. In that dream, you lost someone important, and no matter what you do, you can’t find them again. It’s the sense of loss that seeps from the dream into reality.”
Shields have premiered a new video for their new song “Miss Me.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “Death & Connection,” which will be released on January 30. The group commented:
“We lost someone dear to us. This song is our tribute — a personal account of the unbearably tragic farewell to our friend, George Christie. Our new album ‘Death & Connection’ is a body of work born from the absence of the people who no longer hold space in our lives. This record was created from a necessity to express and soothe our deepest losses; however, that was never the intention — we simply set out to make an album we wanted to hear.”
Jeff Young (Kings Of Thrash, ex-Megadeth) has offered an update on his upcoming album “rEvolutions.” According to him, he is “close to the finish line.”
Young issued the following statement:
“Hello & happy 2026 friends! I hope this letter finds you well…
I’ve been patiently working on something for well over a decade now – an album project! The process began with a specific intent but no conditions nor time limit. The goal was, to create a fresh sound, incorporating influences & skills garnered over the years… (rock. metal, world, classical, blues, etc).
I wasn’t seeking to ‘form a band’ but wanted to collaborate with the very best group of players I could find. On that note, I’d say, lady luck has been on my side. I keep telling my close friends & colleagues, “Put me on the back burner, just have a listen to all these creative souls, who lended their unique talents, helping me sculpt these songs into something… magical.”
We are close to finishing the recording & mixing portions of this “life’s work” project. By beginning with the intent not to rush but to, “allow” the songs to write themselves. Waiting for the appropriate players to arrive & recording as much as possible, staying true to vintage Analog recording methods – this album pretty much wrote itself.
As a result, the songs reflect not only my journey as a musician, songwriter & producer… the listener gets to meet the musicians & influences that have fortunately crossed my path along the way.
Sonically speaking, the actual process of “recording” music has changed so drastically from a decade ago. Each song on the record is like it’s own ‘time capsule’ or movie. Along the trip, the listener can hear exactly where I was in a given year, also where the audio technology medium was in that moment.
I’ve talked with a couple record lables so far, that wanted to help us release this album but I want to be sure it’s really the “right fit” and we make the most of our creative efforts!

So, it won’t be much longer! We are so close to the finish line and so excited to get this music out to the world. We can’t wait to introduce you to these songs and take you all on a vocal & instrumental trip back in time & into the future…”
The Ozzy Osbourne exhibition at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in Birmingham, UK has been extended once again due to public demand. That “Working Class Hero” showcase celebrates the late frontman’s solo achievements and it will now run until September 27.
The following was previously said about the exhibition:
“Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero was officially opened by Sharon Osbourne on Wednesday 25 June [last year] to coincide with [Black Sabbath’s] historic homecoming concert at Villa Park on Saturday 5 July.
The free exhibition, developed in partnership with Central BID Birmingham, showcases Ozzy’s most prestigious international honours including Grammy Awards, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accolades, MTV awards, Hollywood Walk of Fame and Birmingham Walk of Stars honours and a selection of his platinum and gold discs, alongside photography and video that chart his journey from “a working-class kid from Aston” to the world’s most recognisable global rock legend.”
Sharon Osbourne commented:
“We are so proud that Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery asked to extend ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero’, and that more fans will now have the opportunity to go through the exhibit.”
Sam Watson, chair of Central BID Birmingham, continued:
“Central BID is extremely proud to bring this exhibition to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery with the kind support of Sharon Osbourne.
The demand to see the exhibition has been phenomenal and we are very grateful that Sharon and her family have allowed us to extend the exhibition until September 2026, which will give Ozzy’s fans from the UK and around the world an opportunity to celebrate his extraordinary life and achievements.”
Zak Mensah and Sara Wajid, co-chief executives of Birmingham Museums Trust, also added:
“The public response to the exhibition continues to show the love and affection for Ozzy in Birmingham and beyond and we are very pleased to announce that it will now be on display until September 2026.
We would like to express our thanks to Sharon and the rest of the Osbourne family for allowing us to continue to display this exhibition as a fitting tribute to Ozzy’s life and legacy and to enable as many people as possible to come and see it.”
During an interview with SLAM: Music Survival Guide, Overkill’s Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth offered an update on the writing process for the band’s new album. According to him, the group are “10 songs deep at this point.”
Ellsworth said the following:
“We’re 10 songs deep at this point… It’s gonna be a full year. We’ve gotta, make sure D.D. [Verni]’s happening to get all this stuff together [recovery from shoulder surgery]. If not, I’m sure we’ll make it, and the studio will be fine.”
He also added:
“When [D.D.] does his other band [DD Verni & The Cadillac Band], it’s totally different than punching holes in the floor because he plays that bass as low as anyone ever in the history of metal. I mean, that shit sits right on shoe tops, and I think it’s probably one of the reasons he has a bad shoulder. But it’s gonna be business as usual. [There’ll] be a ton of new news coming out pretty soon. We’re 10 songs deep. I expect to be recording by January, and let’s see — let’s see what happens from there.”

Tailgunner have premiered a new song titled “Eulogy.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Midnight Blitz,” which will be released on February 6. The group commented:
“‘Eulogy’ is the most epic release of our career so far. Inspired in particular by our heroes in Helloween and Blind Guardian, it’s Tailgunner at full throttle, telling an epic journey into the afterlife. We needed a video that could match the scope of this quest, so once again sought the help of Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art. Andy first came to our attention with his work on Judas Priest’s ‘Painkiller,’ and of course killed it with our last single ‘Tears In Rain’ too. Prepare to battle demons, to ride over fire & ice, and to face the ultimate fate. This is ‘Eulogy!’”
