• Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst Guests On New Remix Of Lauren Sanderson’s “COME SAY SUM”

Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst is featured on a new remix of Lauren Sanderson’s “COME SAY SUM.” You can find a video for that track below. The original version will appear on Sanderson‘s new album, “LAUREN,“ which will be released on May 29. Notably, the rap rock artist will also be opening for Limp Bizkit during their October 11-12 shows at The Truth in Nashville, TN. Sanderson commented on the single:

“Did I know this song had magic in it? Yes. Did I think Fred Durst would discover it and bring my Lez Bizkit dreams to life? Probably not. Ever since the first conversation Fred and I had, I knew this friendship was created by the universe. Some people just have that magic, and when you put Fred & I together… We are what you call a serendipitous collision.”

Notably, Underoath are returning to their van days for the trek. Guitarist Tim McTague commented:

“The idea of going back into a van, and reconnecting with how we used to tour, will be impactful at worst. At best, it’s an opportunity to reconnect in the same environment that we had prior in a new way and what that unlocks for us as friends, bandmates and more exciting to me…creatively. Putting the smallest shows of our career on sale to create an environment that hasn’t been seen since probably 2002, to me, is such an amazing experience for us and the handful of fans that will get in to these shows. It will be our moment together, must likely never to be repeated again.

We haven’t driven across the country together as one unit, listening to the same music, stopping at the same rest stops, eating the same meals etc. in 2 decades plus. I think there is a magic there that breeds something existentially curious about someone, and I can’t wait to see what that is for us.

I want these shows to feel different than anything we have done in the last 2 decades aside from a few cool secret shows here or there. The idea of doing that every night will be exciting or terrifying or both, I’m here for it.”

    Keyboardist Chris Dudley, added:

“We did a couple small surprise pop-up shows last year and for me that really touched something that we haven’t really got to experience in a long time. Those small hot rooms have an energy in them you can’t get anywhere else. We’ve talked about doing something like this for a long time, just getting in a van and hitting a couple small venues and letting it rip, and the fact that we’re actually doing it this time is mega exciting to me. It’s gonna be wild.

I’m still scared of Aaron’s driving so we’re gonna keep him in shotgun to DJ.”

  • Genghis Tron Premiere New Song “Born Prey”

Genghis Tron have premiered a new song titled “Born Prey.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Signal Fire,“ which will be released on June 12. The group had the following to say about the single:

“We’re proud to share our first true ripper since ‘Board Up The House‘ (2008). We still love making bonkers-ass abrasive music, and after ‘Dream Weapon‘ (2021)—which was very focused on creating a hypnotic and ethereal experience—we couldn’t pass up a second opportunity to let Nick Yacyshyn let loose on the drums and shred some blasts. But that’s just the first 60 seconds! Then the song takes a left turn and goes somewhere completely different, and by the time you get to the end, you’ll have no idea how you got there. It’s a good window into ‘Signal Fire,’ which to our ears is the most varied and exploratory album we’ve ever made.”

  • Four Year Strong Recruit Silverstein, Haywire, Etc. For 2026 Seven Hills Music Festival

Four Year Strong will be celebrating their 25th anniversary as part of the Seven Hills Music Festival. The event will take place at the Palladium Outdoors in Worcester, MA on July 11 and it will find the band performing “Rise Or Die Trying” in full. Silverstein, Haywire, Knuckle Puck, Origami Angel, A Loss For Words, Worry Club, One Step Closer, Spaced, Hard Target, etc. will open. Four Year Strong commented:

“It’s hard to believe this band started in Dan’s basement 25 years ago. We owe everything to the city of Worcester and especially to all of our fans. To celebrate, we’re proud to host Seven Hills Festival – an all-day event with an incredible lineup of bands and friends. We will be playing the record that started it all – ‘Rise Or Die Trying’ – in full, along with all of your other favorites. It will be unforgettable. We can’t wait to see you there.”

  • Motionless In White Recruit Slipknot’s Corey Taylor For New Song “Playing God”

Motionless In White have shared a lyric video for their new song “Playing God.” The track, which features Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, will appear on the band’s new album, “Decades,” which will be released on July 17.

Frontman Chris Motionless commented on the song:

“I can’t believe how aggressive Corey sounds. It’s an observational commentary on toxic internet culture and the people who perpetuate it. The internet has gotten worse and worse to the point where only negativity, hatred, and lies are at the forefront of everything you see. It’s very frustrating because I thought social media was supposed to be a mechanism to connect, but all it does is divide.”

He also added the following about the album:

“We were never afraid to take risks. This band has not only lasted two decades, but we’ve also outlasted all of the obstacles we’ve faced. We’re still grinding. No matter how far we expand the universe that is Motionless In White, we’re going to preserve the heart, soul, and roots of where we came from. We are never going to abandon heartfelt, emotional, and heavy songs. We are never going to abandon what mattered to us the most when we started. We’re finding new ways to emphasize those stories with exciting sounds and looks, but the vision is the same. It’s always been this grand, dramatic, and theatrical entity. I’m proud we haven’t gotten comfortable. ‘Decades’ is definitely heavier than some of our past albums. Our current world bred more aggressive energy, anger, and resistance.”

    “Decades” Track Listing:

    01. “Decades”
    02. “log_in//crash_out”
    03. “R.I.P.” (feat. Skylar Grey)
    04. “Fight Like Hell”
    05. “Playing God” (feat. Slipknot’s Corey Taylor)
    06. “All That I’ve Ever Known”
    07. “Blood Rave” (feat. Dark Divine’s Anthony Martinez)
    08. “Love At First Bite”
    09. “Count Back From Zero”
    10. “Blood Pact”
    11. “Afraid Of The Dark”

    14. “Fight Like Hell” (feat. Outlier) (bonus track)

  • DragonForce Recruit Alissa White-Gluz (Blue Medusa, Ex-Arch Enemy) As Their New Singer

DragonForce have officially recruited Alissa White-Gluz (Blue Medusa, ex-Arch Enemy) as their new singer. Her first shows with the band will take place at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, FL on May 9 and Sonic Temple in Columbus, OH on May 17.

    Guitarist Herman Li commented:

“Alissa joining the band is an expansion of everything we’ve done up to this poiny. Twenty years is a long time to do anything, let alone survive the music industry and still be so inspired to continue doing what we love. Together we will honor what made ‘Inhuman Rampage’ matter, while showing people exactly where we’re going next. Having Alissa in the room changes everything. She doesn’t just sing, she makes all aspects of our music better. And she sounds incredible live! I can’t wait for the fans to see her and hear what we have been working on.”

    White-Gluz added:

“I am beyond excited to be bringing such iconic music to life with these amazingly skilled musicians in such a fun and inspiring environment. It feels great to showcase all the colours of my voice and utilize all my singing styles in technically challenging, deeply energizing, highly addictive songs. I am so thankful for the amazing support I have been lucky enough to receive from the metal world over this wild career I’ve built; I want to keep pushing my boundaries and delivering exceptional music and live experiences to the fans that I cherish so much.”

  • P.O.D. Finish New Album

During an interview with SWOMP, P.O.D. confirmed that their new album is finished. The band recorded the effort with producer Will Yip at Memory Music Studios in South Philadelphia, PA.

Guitarist Marcos Curiel said the following about working on the record with Yip:

“Will is credited for pretty much working from everything from CIRCA SURVIVE, Anthony Green, QUICKSAND, CODE ORANGE, TITLE FIGHT, and most recent, his biggest accolades, Grammys for TURNSTILE. And now he’s working with P.O.D.

It wasn’t, like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna get with Will ’cause he’s a Grammy [nominee]…’ It was because we’ve been fans of his work, but he was also a fan of our band. And when the opportunity arose, he took it, and was, like, ‘Dude, I love your band. I wanna produce you guys.’ And we were, like, ‘Let’s go.’ And we’re super excited about it.”

He went on to discuss the recording process:

“I can say this proudly, we did a record — 13, 14 songs — all tracked, vocals, drums, and guitars, in 12 days. It kind of set the tone, like, it’s good to be prepared. I kind of like it… And the songs came out so dope. We’re extremely proud of it, dude.”

He also said it “awesome” working outside of California. Bassist Mark “Traa” Daniels agreed:

“Sometimes it’s good to get out of our element. It’s easy in California, because everything’s there. Our family’s there, so it was good to get out of our element, be in a situation where we can pull 10-, 12-hour shifts and have nowhere to go.”

    Curiel continued:

“We had a 10-minute walk every morning from our Airbnb to the studio. And we got to soak in the community and the culture and the vibe of South Philly. I felt like Rocky sometimes, bro [a reference to the fictional movie character who has become the city’s unofficial underdog mascot]… But the streets were just like that. We were, like, ‘Look at these houses.’ So much culture and vibe there, bro.”

He then circled back to Yip:

“He’s heavily invested. He understands our band. That was one of the key things that kind of enticed me as a writer, as a musician. He started way back with [1990s hip-hop label] Ruffhouse [Records, home to THE FUGEES, CYPRESS HILL and Lauryn Hill], so he has that whole hip-hop background and foundation. Lauryn Hill, FUGEES, all that stuff. But then he has this indie rock and punk rock, post-hardcore, hardcore vibe. We thought it would be a perfect thing for our band. And when we got with him, we weren’t mistaken. It was a good vibe, just everything. Vibe, cultural, food-wise. He’s a foodie. So there’s things you’re passionate in life. There’s food, then there’s music and your family. He’s all of those things… He wasn’t trying to change us. He was, like, ‘This is what P.O.D. is. Let’s try to enhance that and make it fresh.’”

Vocalist Sonny Sandoval also chimed in:

“It was so good. And he’s a fan of our band, which, it was inspiring. His energy was inspiring. A lot of producers, they’re just jaded, and a lot of it is all, as Marcos says, transactional. They do a record because they get paid. It’s money, and they’re trying to build their catalog. But [Will is], like, ‘I only wanna work with bands that I actually respect and like.’

    Curiel added:

“It was a team effort. His positivity is very contagious in a great way, man.”

    02. “Diablo”
    03. “The Rider”
    04. “The Lunatic”

    08. “Guilt Trippin’”
    09. “Scriblin’ Gib’rish”
    10. “Jessica’s Bra”
    11. “Third Call”
    12. “My New Movie”
    13. “Splat!”

    Frontman Ian Gillan commented:

“Where we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very ‘now’ version of Deep Purple as it was in the ’70s. I have to say, now we are very much back in with material that is compatible with ‘Highway Star,’ ‘Smoke On The Water,’ ‘Lazy’ — the dynamics, the balance, and the fun of the music we made from ’69 to ’73. Deep Purple is in a great place right now.”

Futher details were also shared about the concept:

“At the heart of ‘Splat!’ is an idea conceived by Gillan. Rather than treating the end as destruction, the album imagines it as transformation: ‘Splat!’ explores the end of humanity not in any crude apocalyptic sense but as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence.”

  • Seven Kingdoms To Release New Album “Sono Sola” This Fall

Seven Kingdoms are planning to release a new album, titled “Sono Sola,” this fall. A crowdfunding campaign for the record will launch on May 26 and it will run until June 26.

    Guitarist Camden Cruz commented:

“We are really excited for this record! We took a lot of new chances on this record and got to spend a lot more time working on it. The record contains the soul of this band. We bring the highest level and heaviest release of our career to you with this album. We worked again with Jim Morris who wrote and produced the record with us. We also worked on the record with Francesco Cavalieri who also helped produce songs with us on this album. Sabrina is at the top of her game and the band is firing on all cylinders. It will be your favorite Seven Kingdoms album. We cannot wait to share this with you!”

    Producer Jim Morris added:

“This is the most melodic and heaviest Seven Kingdoms record that we have ever done. We got to spend more time than ever working on the music. I am very excited for this new music and I believe it’s going to open a lot of new doors for the band!”

  • Melting Premiere “The Sword” Video

Melting have premiered a new video for their new song “The Sword.” This track is from the band’s new EP, “A Pathetic Excuse For A Life,” which is set to be released on May 29. Guitarist Alex Bertuna had the following to say about the single:

“The EP as a whole tackles some very personal, dark and heavy topics for Xavier, but I wrote ‘The Sword‘ to be something of a ‘stop letting life happen to you’ kind of thing. Stop begging for guidance, figure it out yourself, hold the fuckin sword.”

The band also added the following about the EP:

“The way we see it – every song is pointed at a different kind of person that can make your life feel like hell. There’s an undertone of overcoming it running throughout though.”
