03. “Neon Noir”
04. “Loveletting”
05. “The Foreverlost”
06. “Baby Lacrimarium”

08. “In Trenodia”
09. “Heartful Of Ghosts”
10. “Saturnine Saturnalia”

Valo said the following about the album:

“‘Neon Noir’ is a sonic step-by-step guide on how to survive, and perhaps even enjoy, the realm of VV with its abundance of things that go bump in the night. It’s a teary mascara marathon between Robert Smith and Ozzy, with a dash of hope.”

He also added the following about the lyrical inspiration during an interview with Kerrang!:

“I wouldn’t call it ‘suicidal’, but most of the stuff was written during the pandemic, and there weren’t many rays of sun hitting me. Everybody was in the mental gutter. Times were tough. This album was the kind of like the lifebuoy for me. It gave me a reason to wake up every morning and work on something else and try to shut the world outside. When I was working on the music, maybe it was selfish to a certain extent, but also it was a matter of survival.”

“It seems that mankind needs a bit of a breather from all this shit, myself included. So I tried to put all that frustration onto paper. And if it’s love and darkness, and all sorts of things like that, that’s probably because it’s my vocabulary. Hopefully, the words have been rearranged in a fresh order this time around. But me trying to do something completely different, just because, that doesn’t make any sense to me at all.”

HIM’s Ville Valo Premieres “Loveletting” Music Video

HIM’s Ville Valo has shared an official video for “Loveletting” from his VV project. This track will appear on his upcoming album, “Neon Noir,” which will be released in 2023. As previously reported, the singer already has a tour booked in support of the effort. Valo commented:

“As fun as the funeral rites for HIM were, it took me more than a few moons to lick my wounds in the shadow of the Heartagram and come up with an excuse to strum and hum again. Eventually, I decided to put a leash on my beloved black dog and we started howling together instead of barking at each other. That’s how ‘Loveletting’ was born.”

HIM’s Ville Valo To Release New Album “Neon Noir” In 2023, Announces Tour

HIM’s Ville Valo is planning to release a new album, titled “Neon Noir,” from his VV project early next year. A video for the effort’s first single, “Loveletting,” will be released tomorrow (April 8).

Valo said the following about “Loveletting”:

“As fun as the funeral rites for HIM were, it took me more than a few moons to lick my wounds in the shadow of the Heartagram and come up with an excuse to strum and hum again. Eventually, I decided to put a leash on my beloved black dog and we started howling together instead of barking at each other. That’s how ‘Loveletting’ was born.”

He also added the following about VV as a whole:

“Artistically speaking, the main difference between HIM and VV is the extra line in the Heartagram, but what an exquisite line it is! It’s the Mamas and the Papas dressed up as Metallica on their way to a Halloween bash at the Studio 54, and now who wouldn’t want to witness that?”

With this news, Valo has also announced a 2023 headlining tour. Here’s the dates:
