Sick Puppies Team Up With ESPN To Launch NHL Season With Cover Of Paul Oakenfold’s “Ready Steady Go”

Sick Puppies have joined forces with ESPN/ESPN+ to help launch the NHL season with their cover of Paul Oakenfold’s “Ready Steady Go.” The track will be featured in promos on various platforms until the end of the year.

Kevin Wilson, creative music director for ESPN, commented:

“‘Ready Steady Go’ is a classic hype track and having the Sick Puppies do their own heavy take on it fits so great to amp up the start of the NHL season.”

Sick Puppies continued:

“For those who haven’t heard Paul Oakenfold’s song ‘Ready Steady Go’, it’s a classic tune. When the opportunity came to be able to put our spin on it, it was a no-brainer. The NHL screams fast, aggressive and punchy rock, so we took that energy and recorded it with that attitude. ESPN brings the rock! We are in good company with their exceptional music team and can’t wait to watch this hockey season unfold”.

Oakenfold added:

“Check out my song ‘Ready Steady Go’ that is going to be used for the start of the NHL season on ESPN and will run for the rest of the year. My friends Sick Puppies did a kickass rock version of it! Good luck to all the teams this season. Also BIG thanks to everyone at ESPN for pushing it out there.”

Sick Puppies Reveal New Vocalist/Tease New Song “Stick To Your Guns”

Sick Puppies have revealed that guitarist/vocalist Bryan Scott has joined the band. He will be taking over for Shim Moore, who left in 2014. You can check out a teaser for the band’s new song “Stick To Your Guns” below (courtesy of Loudwire):

Scott issued the following statement:

“As soon as I found out about the lineup change, my gut feeling told me to reach out to Emma [Anzai] and Mark [Goodwin], and we clicked right away. I knew this was a shot that could change the course of my life so I flew out to L.A. to audition the next morning.”

Anzai and Goodwin added:

“Before we met Bryan in person, we knew he’d be a great fit. His audition of ‘Odd One’ and ‘You’re Going Down’ was on point and from there the music progressed naturally.”

Sick Puppies Comment On Shimon Moore’s “Firing” Statement

When Sick Puppies parted ways with vocalist, Shimon Moore, he fired back claiming that he was kicked out of the band, and that the band’s announcement was the first he heard of it. The band have now issued a new statement to defend their selves from Moore’s statement.

The band issued the following statement, via Loudwire:

“Hey Everyone,

We have always wanted to be professional and respectful to everyone involved, but unfortunately Shim has taken a different approach and has been distorting the facts to make himself out to be the victim of a surprise “ousting.” We released a statement on October 20th and had planned on not responding to Shim’s posting, but after reading all your comments we felt the need to set the record straight.

Shim’s claim that “This was the first I had heard of it” is simply not true. The truth is Shim engaged a lawyer against US … for the second time. He notified us through his lawyer that he wanted to dissolve the band. All our hard work and dedication was now in jeopardy, not to mention all YOUR years of love and support of the band. We couldn’t let that happen so we made the difficult decision to move forward without him.

Despite Shim’s actions we still wish him the best.

We, Emma and Mark, love writing music, performing and being in this band. If you know us at all then you know that we would not casually throw away 15 years of hard work. We trust you understand and each of you should know that moving forward we only want, and have always wanted — to keep the focus on the music.

Thank you so much for all your love and support and we’ll see you out on the road real soon.

Emma and Mark.”

Shimon Moore Says He Was Kicked Out Of Sick Puppies

Sick Puppies announced that they had parted ways with vocalist, Shimon Moore, and stated he left to pursue “other endeavors.” Now Moore has responded by claiming he was kicked out of the band.

He issued the following statement:

“On October 20th Sick Puppies announced that I was leaving the band. This was the first I had heard of it. The truth is that there was tension in the band after the many years of touring. I had hoped that some time apart would resolve these issues and lead us to the next phase of our career. It unfortunately seems that Emma and Mark have decided to move on with a new singer instead. It has taken a couple of days for me to respond because I have needed a bit of time to get over the news.

Emma, Mark and I have done the impossible together. We turned a bunch of songs and a dream into a reality, then traveled the world to show it to everyone. For that I will always be grateful to them. I am deeply saddened to have lost my band after all these years.

I am so touched by the messages from you all asking me if I will be continuing in music and the answer is obviously “Yes.”

Since the announcement I have been locked out of all the Sick Puppies socials and mailing lists so you won’t be able to hear about it through those sites. If you want to hear my new music, please follow and share my socials with your friends from the links below.

For those of you I may lose during this time, I will miss you.
For those of you who will stand by me, I will not let you down.

Please remember one of my favorite lyrics.
“Every new beginning, comes from some other beginnings end.”

… I’ll be right here”

Sick Puppies Part Ways With Shimon Moore

Sick Puppies have parted ways with vocalist, Shimon Moore. The band have stated that he left to pursue “other endeavors.”

The band issued the following statement:

“Sick Puppies are undergoing some exciting changes and evolving. Former member Shimon Moore is no longer with the band and is pursuing other endeavors. We are currently in the studio writing material for our upcoming studio album while auditioning new singers. As always, there is nothing we enjoy more than creating and performing music for our fans. Our passion and determination to create and share our music is stronger than ever. We cannot wait for Sick Puppies’ next chapter to unfold and for you all to be part of it.

With respect and appreciation,

Emma & Mark”
