Gargoyl (Revocation, Ayahuasca) have premiered a new video for their new song “Plastic Nothing.” This track is from the band’s self-titled debut album, which will be released on October 9.
Luke Roberts commented:
“Why am I so afraid that my body, my possessions, and even my mind are in a state of constant dissolution? Why am I so afraid of the idea that every atom in my body came from dirt and will soon return?
Maybe the tighter I hang on to being a person, being permanent, secure, the more I suffer. Maybe the tighter i hang onto the idea of a perfect world the faster it burns. Fear is like a bully that offers you protection in exchange for obedience.
Perhaps if I hang on less tightly, the sum of my short fleeting life could mean something more than just living in a constant state of fear right up until my inevitable death bed.”

Gargoyl (Revocation, Ayahuasca) have premiered a new song titled “Wraith.” This track is from the band’s self-titled debut album, which will be released on October 9.
Dave Davidson commented:
“A big part of the impetus to form Gargoyl was to have a vehicle for our different influences so this track will give listeners a taste of the diverse moods this album has to offer. ‘Wraith‘ showcases a different side of my playing and compositional style that people are normally associated with. I had part of the music written for this piece for quite sometime, but it really came to life for me when I heard Luke‘s haunting vocal melodies and lyrics. I hope you find this track eerily beautiful as well.”
Luke Roberts added:
“In the first world, there’s a paradigm that ‘one day I’ll be gone so I might as well just look out for me while I’m here.’ “But imagine in death, in some form, you were still cognizant, trapped in the concrete and power lines of the city you live in, forced to watch the sum of everything you set in motion in your life unfold. Forced to watch your predecessors crawl through the legacy you left in your wake, desperately clinging to the pursuit of happiness in an unravelling world.
If this was your fate, would then how you live and how you treat everyone and everything around you not become of dire importance?”

“This song is not meant to be a pleasant experience. There’s a background static of anxiety and depression that seems to linger everywhere in our society. I would like to suggest it’s time we look at these feelings in ourselves and take responsibility for them instead of taking them out on each other or trying to hide from them in all of our distractions.”

Gargoyl, the band featuring Dave Davidson (Revocation), Luke Roberts (Ayahuasca), and Josh Park (Ayahuasca), have released their debut EP “Asomatous.” You can stream that below. Davidson commented:
“It was hard to choose the songs to put on this EP since Gargoyl has been evolving from the beginning, but I think these two tracks are a good representation of the diversity of our sound. The music is raw, emotional and hopefully thought-provoking, and we hope you enjoy this free EP and spread the gospel of Gargoyl as we prepare to finish up writing for our full-length record.”
