Dieth (Ex-Megadeth, Ex-Decapitated, Etc.) Sign With Napalm Records

Dieth, the project featuring David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth), Guilherme Miranda (ex-Entombed A.D.), and Michał Łysejko (ex-Decapitated), have signed a new deal with Napalm Records. The band’s debut album will be released through the label on 2023.

Dieth commented:

“We are stoked to announce that we’ve signed a multi-album international record deal with Napalm Records, who will release our debut album in 2023. Their approach to music and devotion to metal made Napalm the perfect, most suitable place for us and our music. Last but not least, we would like to thank each one of you that are giving us this massive support. More info and details about the album will follow soon. Stay tuned!”

Sebastian Münch, A&R at Napalm, added:

“The term ‘supergroup’ feels overused nowadays, but with the formation of Dieth, it correctly and justifiably describes the coming together of these three extremely talented musicians. The first single, ‘In The Hall Of The Hanging Serpents’, underlines that the debut album could become a death-thrash metal masterpiece. Napalm Records is pleased and proud to partner with Dieth, to establish the band and make the new album a success. Personally, as a lifelong Megadeth fan, this signing is a dream come true.”

Former Members Of Megadeth, Decapitated, & Entombed A.D. Launch New Death Metal Band Dieth

David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth), Guilherme Miranda (ex-Entombed A.D.), and Michal Lysejko (ex-Decapitated) have joined forces for a new death metal project called Dieth. A music video for the band’s first single, “In The Hall Of The Hanging Serpents,” can be found below:

Miranda commented:

“It has been so much happening lately (in life), feeling the need to express ourselves accordingly. Create something new, have a fresh start. Personally, it was a matter of life or death to come back playing music. To do something truly meaningful and finally cope with the anger and grief. Sometimes you have to die inside to be reborn. This is what Dieth represents, a new sonic driving force that leave the past behind.”

Ellefson continued:

“The three of us have all been recognized in our respective bands and careers but at some point, we had to close the door on those exploits to let something new begin and now we have found it in Dieth. In fact, the name itself is about dying to one’s past so that something new can spring forth to create the next chapter of life. And, that is a connection the three of us hold in common.”

Lysejko added:

“For me, Dieth is awakening from a creative lethargy, with the full feeling that the time has come. The lightness with which Dieth‘s music flows from us, combining our inspirations and experiences into a whole, is proof of this. The fact that the band was formed in the Tri-City I come from has a symbolic meaning for me.”

Decapitated Part Ways With Drummer Michal Lysejko

Decapitated have parted ways with drummer Michal Lysejko. For now, Vader’s James Stewart will be filling in.

The band commented:

“Although we finished 2018 completely tired, we are happy.

We would not have been able to end this year on such a positive note without you – our fans, our families & friends, our labels Nuclear Blast and Mystic Production, and our booking agents. Everyone gave their best to help us on this journey and we have given our everything not to let anyone down.

It was a totally new & stressful experience for us: To pick up our instruments again, return to the stage, and play this music that we love. What we got back in return from all of you was worth it. What an incredible feeling.

This also marks Michal‘s last year with us. We would like to thank him for his friendship, his huge support, and his hard work as the drummer for DECAPITATED. We wish him well on his new path. All the best, BROTHER!

We will take some time before we find and announce our new drummer. Until then, our friend James Stewart (Vader) will join us as a session drummer. Luckily, he found some free time between VADER shows and is able to play some selected live shows. You will all experience his talents soon.

The start of our 2019 tour, Killing The European Cult, will arrive shortly, and I hope to see you there, headbanging and sweating along with us. We are going to prepare a special set for these live shows which I hope will satisfy you all. More shows & festival appearances are still to be announced because we are truly hungry to play more and more.

We thank you sincerely for your continuing loyalty, support, and goodwill.

See you on the road in 2019!

Decapitated returned to the stage in 2018 after being arrested in 2017 due to accusations of rape and kidnapping. Those charges were dropped before they even went to trial.
