Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop Joins Cast Of Upcoming Video Game “Of Bird And Cage”

Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop has joined the cast of the upcoming video game “Of Bird And Cage.” The singer will voice a character named Ari, while his partner, Gitta, will be voiced by Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus). The game is expected to be released next year with Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Rob van der Loo (Epica), Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation), Mike LePond (Symphony X), and Rocky Gray (Living Sacrifice, ex-Evanescence) all set to be involved as well. Worsnop commented:

“We’ve had a lot of fun making this — it’s an entirely new approach, an entirely new concept, and a way to absorb the video game platform that I believe you guys are going to enjoy. There are a lot of incredible other musicians who’ve been involved in the casting, the creation, the scoring, and the performance within this video game and I would just want to say thank you to all of them who’ve been involved, and thank you to everyone who has created ‘Of Bird And Cage‘ for having me on board.”

Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus) Working On New Solo Project

During a recent appearance on Eluveitie’s “Corona Talk,” Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus) revealed that she is working on a solo project. According to her, the new material will be “gospelish.”

Paige said the following:

“I started another album that’s just different work completely two years ago in Nashville. And then I stopped working on it because I put everything towards making the new album with the guys, [2019’s] ‘Evolution’, for KOBRA AND THE LOTUS. And now I’ve actually had time in this quarantine to start picking it up where I left off. So I started to work on more music again — over Zoom sessions with people, which has worked really well. I’ve been quite surprised.”

“It’s a project that has a lot of bluegrass, folky instruments in it. It’s based around 12-string acoustic, dobro guitar… So those sounds, slide guitar — things like that. It’s definitely been more of a roots, crossroads, gospelish… It’s all about just expressing the soul in a different way — in a very raw way as well… It’s something that’s gonna be separate from the band… This is just me working with different people to create this solo record.”

“I hope to release it in the New Year, if I can record it and do that this year, in the fall. But we’ll see how this all works out with this, what’s going on right now.”

Kobra And The Lotus Premiere “Thundersmith” Lyric Video

Kobra And The Lotus have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Thundersmith.” This track is from the band’s new album “Evolution,” which will be released on September 20.

Kobra Paige commented:

“We’ve laid the sauce on HARD!!! The guitar licks are groovy as ever and the beat is anthemic. I wrote my vocals about my journey in the music industry as one woman singlehandedly pushing a band. This is my way of saying I haven’t given up yet. I am what I am. I keep getting up and trying no matter what happens. I’m proud of who I am, I’m going to keep being who I am, and we all should be. If you feel me, hop on my train. Like Chris Cornell said, ‘To be yourself is all that you can do.’ Let’s live empowered, be fucking brilliant, like we we’re supposed to so we can be/do better for ourselves and everyone around us.”

Kobra And The Lotus Premiere “Get The Fuck Out Of Here” Lyric Video

Kobra And The Lotus have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Get The Fuck Out Of Here.” This track is from the band’s new album “Evolution,” which will be released on September 20. Kobra Paige commented:

“‘Get The Fuck Out Of Here’! Time to get stoked, because this track was made for pumping people up and we’re going to keep whipping out the unexpected on this new album. Bad juju… no way. This track is meant to put a fun spin on wiping your life of the predatory relationships that suck your energy dry and to charge you up so you can GTFO! Use it daily.”

Kobra And The Lotus Premiere “Burn!” Music Video, Reveal Details For New Album “Evolution”

Kobra And The Lotus have premiered a new video for their new song “Burn!.” This track is from the band’s new album “Evolution,” which will be released on September 20.

Kobra Paige said the following about the song:

“It’s about all of the reasons you hold yourself back. You literally need to burn all of those feelings, stories, excuses, and obstacles keeping you from being your own authentic self. It’s super personal. It’s a product of growing and arriving as a person. I’m realizing who I am. It’s symbolic of the rebirth.”

She also added the following about the album:

“The new body of work sets the tone for the music going forward. Sonically, it’s still heavy. It highlights the showmanship and maintains the edge. At the same time, it’s approachable. It pays tribute to our influences, but it takes the next step. So, it’s a reintroduction to us and a rebirth. A firm goal was to build a strong identity and update everything. We just want to be Kobra And The Lotus; that’s what we’re doing.”

“We’ve never done a record like ‘Evolution’. We’ve flown demos over the Internet back and forth or started a few ideas prior to hitting the studio. This time, we were all working together in the flesh for the full duration of the writing process. It’s a collision of everything we love. We feel like it’s the freshest and most timeless thing we’ve brought to the table.”
