Iron Maiden and Robinsons Brewery have announced that they will be releasing a “Trooper” mixed beer collection box to celebrate selling 25 million pints of beer. The 12-bottle set will come with “Trooper,” “Sun And Steel,” and “Light Brigade,” as well as three limited edition beers: “Trooper 666,” “Red ‘N’ Black,” and “Hallowed.”
Trooper brand manager Sam Kennerley commented:
“Is there any better way to celebrate 25 million pints sold of Trooper than by releasing all of our beers in one collection for the very first time? We are asked daily when we are going to be re-releasing certain beers, so this is an opportunity for fans to get their hands on every beer in our collection to date.”
Notably, “Trooper” beer will also be available via Amazon for the first time. Kennerley added the following about that:
“By having our beers for sale on Amazon and on our own web site, we are enabling more fans to get their hands on the beer. With nationwide distribution, including the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland, Amazon will now reinforce our online presence and help more people enjoy Trooper across the country.”
Fans that order the new box set are expected to get it by November 15.
Cradle Of Filth have joined forces with Electric Bear Brewing to create their own beer called “Pale Countess.” The band said the following about that:
“Electric Bear Brewing have teamed up with us to create this 4.5% English Pale Ale to see off our “In To The Pallademonium” tour at the The London Palladium. This delightfully wicked pale ichor, is awash with forbidden fruits, tropical hurricanes and the bloody hubbub of grapefruit and mango. Limited Availability at The London Palladium, Electric Bear web shop and Eebria 🦇 🧛🏼♀️”
Dream Theater have revealed that their new “Barstool Warrior” beer will be available at select venues on their current North American tour. The beverage, which was created in collaboration with Barrier Brewing Company, was previously introduced this past summer, but it has been sold out ever since. However, 300 new cases of the beer have been brewed and fans will be able to purchase it during the band’s October 12 show at the Palace Theater in Albany and other unspecified shows. On top of that, the drink will also be available in select New York and New Jersey stores.
Iron Maiden and Robinsons Brewery have announced that they will be releasing a new “Day Of The Dead” limited edition label for their “Trooper” beer. It will be available from the beginning of October to the end of November in cask, bottle, and through export listings. “Trooper” brand manager Sam Kennerley commented:
“We are delighted to be bringing our loyal drinkers a new, limited-edition look for our award-winning Trooper. The timing couldn’t be more ideal with Day Of The Dead just around the corner and Iron Maiden continuing on their sell-out ‘Legacy Of The Beast’ world tour with stadium and arena shows, fittingly, in Mexico and also Brazil (including 100,000 people at Rock In Rio), Chile and Argentina in September and October. We hope that our drinkers will enjoy the tribute we have paid to Mexico’s time-honored tradition and will pick up a bottle whilst it is available between October and November.”
Megadeth have teamed up with Unibroue once again to create a new beer called “Saison 13.” The 6.1% ABV drink is currently available in select Canadian provinces and it is expected to launch in the U.S. next month.
Deftones and Belching Beaver have announced that their “Dia de los Deftones” beer will available at select distributors in California tomorrow (August 17), before expanding to other markets. The beverage, which is a 5% ABV Mexican-style lager with lime, is assumed to be the same exclusive beer from last year’s “Dia de los Deftones” festival. The 2019 edition of the event will take place on November 2 at Petco Park in San Diego, CA.
August Burns Red have teamed up with Elder Pine Brewery to create “Constellations” beer. There is two versions including a Fruited Sour Ale called “Constellations: Antares” and a Double IPA called “Constellations: Pollux.” However, they are currently only available in Maryland.
Here’s a description of “Constellations: Antares”:
“Constellations: Antares is a Fruited Sour Ale fermented with an insane amount of raspberries & passion fruit. Bright in color, bright in flavor, and ultra refreshing. Constellations: Antares is sure to quench your thirst after spending all night in the mosh pit. 5% abv.”
Here’s a description of “Constellations: Pollux”:
“Constellations: Pollux is a smooth bodied & highly aromatic Double IPA hopped with two of our favorite galactic named hops – Calypso & Galaxy. Brewed with a hefty dose of oats for a smooth & creamy mouthfeel, Constellations: Pollux is exploding with pungent passion fruit & ripe lychee notes from the two massive Galaxy dry hop additions. 8% abv.”
Chevelle have joined forces with Revolution Brewing to create a new “classic German-style Helles Lager” called “La Gárgola.” The beer will officially launch during an event at the Revolution Brewpub in Chicago, IL on August 1. Members of the band are expected to attend. Pete Loeffler commented:
“We are incredibly excited to announce our collaboration beer with Revolution Brewing. We chose a Helles-style Lager because we wanted a beer that was easy-drinking and did not sacrifice taste or quality. Being from the Chicago area, we’ve been fans of their beers for as long as we can remember. Having the opportunity to work on our own special edition with one of our favorite breweries is a special moment for us.”
Iron Maiden have announced a new saké-infused lager called “Sun And Steel.” The double-fermented lager is the latest addition to the band’s “Trooper” beer line. Bruce Dickinson and Robinsons Brewery’s head brewer Martyn Weeks created the beer with George Yusa, who owns the 300-year-old Okunomatsu Saké Brewery in Fukushima, Japan. They also obtained permission from the Japanese government to brew it with authentic saké yeast. The drink will be available in the UK on May 6 and will then receive a worldwide release at a later date. Dickinson commented:
“This has been such an exciting project. I had a crazy idea to try and make a saké infused lager and over two and a half years later, here we are! I know Martyn and the team at Robinsons have had to become mad scientists to make this work but the end result is a really unique hybrid beer that tastes fantastic. Trooper fans have been asking for a lager, and here it is. I bet you would never have guessed we would do it like this though!”
Iron Maiden and Robinsons Brewery have announced a new kegged version of “Trooper” beer, which they are calling “Trooper Nitro.” This version of the drink is charged with nitrogen and CO2.
Trooper brand manager Sam Kennerley commented:
“Our keg version of Trooper has been extremely popular, but after listening to feedback from our customers and numerous on-trade trials, which had outstanding results, we decided to switch to mixed gas. The result — an awesome longer-lasting keg-conditioned Trooper ale whose deep and complex flavor has been enhanced with a cooler temperature and a perfect serve.
Trooper Nitro is the first of many exciting projects with Bruce and Iron Maiden that are in the pipeline for Trooper in 2019. Stay tuned.”
Ben Robinson, director of sales at Robinsons, added:
“We’re continuing to drive Trooper as the beer of music. With a focus on craft beer bars, premium outlets, music venues, live events and music festivals. We hope that Trooper Nitro can build on the success that Trooper has had since its launch in 2013 and attract a new wave of stockists and customers who are eager to get their hands on this flavorsome pint.”
