Armored Saint Team Up With Metal Monkey Brewing For “Symbol Of Salvation” Belgian Blonde Ale

Armored Saint have teamed up with Metal Monkey Brewing to create “Symbol Of Salvation” beer. Decibel Magazine shared the following description of the Belgian Blonde Ale:

Brewed with Grains of Paradise and Pacifica hops, “Symbol Of Salvation” offers a slight twist on the traditional style; the Grains of Paradise add a slightly spicy, woody character, while the Pacifica hops bring to the party an aroma and flavor reminiscent of orange marmalade.

The beer will be tapped at the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in Los Angeles. Armored Saint are set to perform at the pre-party for that event and are also scheduled to participate in a signing at 7 p.m. on December 1.

Metal Monkey Brewing said the following about the collaboration:

“Metal Monkey got to hang out with Fates Warning after their Joliet, Ilinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin dates during their 2017 ‘Theories Of Flight’ tour. It was basically two nights of bonding over the magic of music and beer. When Armored Saint came through Chicago earlier this year as part of their tour to celebrate ‘Symbol Of Salvation’, we had the chance to do it all over again. Since then, we’ve kept in touch with Joey Vera with an eye toward working together in the future. After we were added to the brewery lineup for the Decibel Metal & Beer Festival, we immediately got in touch with Joey because it was the perfect opportunity to turn a hypothetical into a reality.

Working with Joey has been a blast. He’s he made music that’s been a fixture in our lives and he shares our love of beer and our passion for creativity. It’s been an honor to pair up and create a fun, flavorful beer that sidesteps conventional expectations.

We’re proud to debut ‘Symbol Of Salvation’, our Belgian Blonde Ale brewed in collaboration with and in celebration of Armored Saint and their iconic album, at the Decibel Metal & Beer Festival. Everything about this beer was born of a shared love for the art of brewing that, much like heavy metal in all its forms, affords endless possibilities.”

Vera added:

“We are super excited to announce that we have made a great craft beer in collaboration with Metal Monkey Brewery from Romeoville, Illinois! Aside from being metalheads, these guys are great brewers who are not afraid of going outside the box. Together, we’ve created a killer Belgian Blonde Ale that we stand tall behind! Welcome to ‘Symbol Of Salvation’ Belgian Blonde Ale! Come on out to the Decibel Beer Fest, meet the band, meet our brew, get a taste of ‘Symbol Of Salvation’ Belgian Blonde Ale!”

Mastodon Release “Ancient Kingdom” Beer

Mastodon have teamed up with Mikkeller once again to create their third collaborative beer. This one is named after their track “Ancient Kingdom” and it is available in select European stores now.

Mastodon’s Brann Dailor commented:

“Couldn’t be more excited to be collaborating once again with one of our favorite and internationally revered breweries Mikkeller. Ancient Kingdom is the perfect name for this beautifully brewed Czech Pilsner. We hope to swill a few with you on our European tour this winter, or on the beach this summer! Breach the walls of the ancient Kingdom and discover the bountiful riches hidden inside.”

Mikkeleler’s Mikkel Borg Bjergsø added:

“Our third collaboration with Mastodon is possibly going to be the best one so far. Not only did we agree on my favorite beer style at the moment, but the label and packaging came out amazing, and Brann and the guys named the beer after what I think is one of the top songs off of Emperor Of Sand. We always have a great time working with Mastodon, and we look forward to catching up with them early next year when they return to Europe.”

Opeth To Release Three New Beers

Opeth have collaborated with Heavy MetAle to create three new beers including: Heritage Pilsner, Sorceress Session IPA, and Garden Of The Titans Red Ale. The drinks will launch at the Zum Franziskaner beerhalle in Stockholm, Sweden on November 10. Members of the band will attend.

Here’s a description of each beer:

‘Heritage Pilsner is a brave and beautiful beer with light tones of bittersweet hops. A tasteful and timeless brew inspired by the band’s 2011 ‘Heritage’ album.

Sorceress Session IPA is bitter, strong and full of hops. Yet, its harsh body contains a hint of something sweet. And just like Opeth’s twelfth full-length 2016 album it’s an adventure where different notes and shifting tones create an orchestra with well-balanced flavours.

Garden of The Titans Red Ale is a unique red brew filled with American hops to commemorate Opeth’s ‘Garden of the Titans’ live album, set for worldwide release this November 2nd through Moderbolaget / Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Garden of the Titans was recorded on May 11th last year at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado which provided the perfect inspiration for this tasteful American red ale.’

Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt commented:

“From drinking random peoples; stale, leftover beers during the Stockholm nightlife of the early 90’s to manufacturing our very own beer together with Heavy MetAle might be seen as a massive leap of success. And it is! At least for the beer connoisseurs that we have become. We sincerely hope that everyone that uncaps a bottle of Opeth beer thoroughly enjoys its flavour. Fan or not, it doesn’t matter. A great beer remains a great beer on the taste buds of any devoted fan of this nectar from the Gods.”

Behemoth Announce “Wolf Ov Siberia” Beer

Behemoth have teamed up with Kings Country Brewers Collective to create a new double IPA called “Wolf Ov Siberia.” According to a press release, the 7.7% ABV beer “pours pale gold in the glass, with a light lupulin haze. A blistering blast of bright lemon and crushed lime greets your nose, followed by grapefruit, melon and green pine from a megaload of Citra, Motueka and Centennial hops. Balanced by soft wheat and flaked rye, with a touch of savage bitterness on the finish.”

Tony Bellis, co-founder of Kings County Brewers Collective, commented:

“We love brewing a wide variety of different beer styles at KCBC and strive to constantly challenge our drinkers’ taste buds – in the same way that Behemoth has consistently pushed the boundaries of metal into brutal, uncharted territories over the years. Having been long time Behemoth fans, we’re incredibly excited to collaborate with them on this killer Double IPA.”

Nergal added:

“Behemoth global domination is still in full effect! After partnering with our friends at Perun to give you a unique craft experience, we thought why just brew beer for the lucky ones in Europe? Kings County Brewers Collective said they could delight the palate of the Americans too! Just in time for our album release October 5th, you’ll be seeing Wolf ov Siberia at a bar near you!”

A “Wolf Ov Siberia” release party will take place at the KCBC Brewery and Taproom in Brooklyn, NY on October 15. The beverage will also be available at the band’s “Thou Art Darkest” art exhibits, which are set to take place in New York on November 3 and Los Angeles on November 25. You can find more details on those HERE.
