Iron Maiden & Robinsons Brewery Announce “Trooper Nitro”

Iron Maiden and Robinsons Brewery have announced a new kegged version of “Trooper” beer, which they are calling “Trooper Nitro.” This version of the drink is charged with nitrogen and CO2.

Trooper brand manager Sam Kennerley commented:

“Our keg version of Trooper has been extremely popular, but after listening to feedback from our customers and numerous on-trade trials, which had outstanding results, we decided to switch to mixed gas. The result — an awesome longer-lasting keg-conditioned Trooper ale whose deep and complex flavor has been enhanced with a cooler temperature and a perfect serve.

Trooper Nitro is the first of many exciting projects with Bruce and Iron Maiden that are in the pipeline for Trooper in 2019. Stay tuned.”

Ben Robinson, director of sales at Robinsons, added:

“We’re continuing to drive Trooper as the beer of music. With a focus on craft beer bars, premium outlets, music venues, live events and music festivals. We hope that Trooper Nitro can build on the success that Trooper has had since its launch in 2013 and attract a new wave of stockists and customers who are eager to get their hands on this flavorsome pint.”

Children Of Bodom To Release New Beer Brewed With Water From Lake Bodom

Children Of Bodom have joined forces with Fat Lizard Brewing Co. to create a new beer called “Lake Bodom Pre-Prohibition Lager.” The 5.0% ABV lager will be released in Finland on February 1 and it was actually brewed with water from Lake Bodom. The band got their name from that lake, which was home to horrible murders back in 1960 when three teenagers were stabbed and bludgeoned to death while camping. A fourth one was also injured, but survived. The killer was never caught. As previously reported, Children Of Bodom’s new album “Hexed” will be released on March 8.

Metallica Team Up With Stone Brewing Co. For “Enter Night” Beer

Metallica have joined forces with Stone Brewing Co. to create “Enter Night” beer. The 5.7% ABV pilsner was previously made available during at the band’s fall tour and it has now been released nationally. An international release will follow in the spring.

Lars Ulrich commented:

“The amount of ideals and outlooks that Metallica and Stone Brewing share are endless. I’m always blown away about how similar our paths forward have been. Our view of the worlds that we each inhabit, of creativity and process, and sense of place in relation to our peers and ‘The Man’ are almost identical. This collaboration is beyond effortless and pure, and we can’t wait to share this incredible beverage with everyone out there.”

Stone co-founder Greg Koch added:

“I remember seeing Metallica on the cover of a magazine just after the Black Album was released. On the cover was a quote that resonated with me to this day: ‘Metallica didn’t go to number one, number one came to them.’ I loved what that meant. Do it your way and never compromise your art. If you’re great at what you do people will come. I view that simple quote as one of the founding philosophical elements of Stone Brewing.”

Armored Saint Team Up With Metal Monkey Brewing For “Symbol Of Salvation” Belgian Blonde Ale

Armored Saint have teamed up with Metal Monkey Brewing to create “Symbol Of Salvation” beer. Decibel Magazine shared the following description of the Belgian Blonde Ale:

Brewed with Grains of Paradise and Pacifica hops, “Symbol Of Salvation” offers a slight twist on the traditional style; the Grains of Paradise add a slightly spicy, woody character, while the Pacifica hops bring to the party an aroma and flavor reminiscent of orange marmalade.

The beer will be tapped at the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in Los Angeles. Armored Saint are set to perform at the pre-party for that event and are also scheduled to participate in a signing at 7 p.m. on December 1.

Metal Monkey Brewing said the following about the collaboration:

“Metal Monkey got to hang out with Fates Warning after their Joliet, Ilinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin dates during their 2017 ‘Theories Of Flight’ tour. It was basically two nights of bonding over the magic of music and beer. When Armored Saint came through Chicago earlier this year as part of their tour to celebrate ‘Symbol Of Salvation’, we had the chance to do it all over again. Since then, we’ve kept in touch with Joey Vera with an eye toward working together in the future. After we were added to the brewery lineup for the Decibel Metal & Beer Festival, we immediately got in touch with Joey because it was the perfect opportunity to turn a hypothetical into a reality.

Working with Joey has been a blast. He’s he made music that’s been a fixture in our lives and he shares our love of beer and our passion for creativity. It’s been an honor to pair up and create a fun, flavorful beer that sidesteps conventional expectations.

We’re proud to debut ‘Symbol Of Salvation’, our Belgian Blonde Ale brewed in collaboration with and in celebration of Armored Saint and their iconic album, at the Decibel Metal & Beer Festival. Everything about this beer was born of a shared love for the art of brewing that, much like heavy metal in all its forms, affords endless possibilities.”

Vera added:

“We are super excited to announce that we have made a great craft beer in collaboration with Metal Monkey Brewery from Romeoville, Illinois! Aside from being metalheads, these guys are great brewers who are not afraid of going outside the box. Together, we’ve created a killer Belgian Blonde Ale that we stand tall behind! Welcome to ‘Symbol Of Salvation’ Belgian Blonde Ale! Come on out to the Decibel Beer Fest, meet the band, meet our brew, get a taste of ‘Symbol Of Salvation’ Belgian Blonde Ale!”

Mastodon Release “Ancient Kingdom” Beer

Mastodon have teamed up with Mikkeller once again to create their third collaborative beer. This one is named after their track “Ancient Kingdom” and it is available in select European stores now.

Mastodon’s Brann Dailor commented:

“Couldn’t be more excited to be collaborating once again with one of our favorite and internationally revered breweries Mikkeller. Ancient Kingdom is the perfect name for this beautifully brewed Czech Pilsner. We hope to swill a few with you on our European tour this winter, or on the beach this summer! Breach the walls of the ancient Kingdom and discover the bountiful riches hidden inside.”

Mikkeleler’s Mikkel Borg Bjergsø added:

“Our third collaboration with Mastodon is possibly going to be the best one so far. Not only did we agree on my favorite beer style at the moment, but the label and packaging came out amazing, and Brann and the guys named the beer after what I think is one of the top songs off of Emperor Of Sand. We always have a great time working with Mastodon, and we look forward to catching up with them early next year when they return to Europe.”
