  • The Claypool Lennon Delirium (Primus, Etc.) Announce New Album “The Great Parrot-Ox And The Golden Egg Of Empathy”

The Claypool Lennon Delirium, the band featuring Les Claypool (Primus) and Sean Lennon (The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger, etc.), have announced a new album titled “The Great Parrot-Ox And The Golden Egg Of Empathy.” The effort will be released on May 1 and a video for its latest single, “The Golden Egg Of Empathy” (feat. Willow Smith), can be found below:

“The Great Parrot-Ox And The Golden Egg Of Empathy” Track Listing:

    01. “Pro-Log“
    02. “Wap (What A Predicament)“
    03. “The Wake Up Call“
    04. “Meat Machines“
    05. “Troll Bait“
    06. “Simplest Of Deeds“
    07. “Heart Of Chrome“
    08. “Through The Horizon“
    09 “Mantra Of The Manatee“
    10. “The Golden Egg Of Empathy” (feat. Willow Smith)
    11. “Cliptopia“
    12. “Cliptron Scuttle“
    13. “Melody Of Entropy“
    14. “It’s A Wrap“

The following was said about the album:

“Set in the once-glorious land of Cliptopia, where a sentient A.I. known as Cliptron and his army of robots are resourcing everything, then turning it all into Clipnex brand paperclips, the album follows young artist Hippard O. Campus Jr. as he rebels against his father, Hippard Sr. (owner of the Clipnex corporation and creator of Cliptron). With help from salty sea-dog Colonel O’Coren, Hipp embarks on a fantastical adventure to stop Cliptron’s cold, chrome heart from converting the world, humans included, into paperclips.

Hipp’s quest leads across the sea to the Isle of Lucidity, where the all-wise Ministry of Manatees guide him to the Great Parrot-Ox, whose Golden Egg Of Empathy is the only thing that can bring understanding and emotion to Cliptron.”

    Lennon continued:

“‘The Great Parrot-Ox And The Golden Egg Of Empathy‘ is a cautionary tale of what could be in store for humanity if we continue to favor machines over men. It is a tale of a technocracy eclipsed by paperclips; a young man destined to unravel the fabric of his father’s folly, and a sacred feathered Goddess (played by Willow),who holds the egg-shaped key to their future.”

He also revealed plans for a comic book:

“Initially Les and I were imagining a feature-length animated film for ‘Parrot-Ox‘, but we realized there wasn’t enough time to complete such an undertaking, so we asked Rich [Ragsdale] if he could distill the story into a comic book for us. He did an incredible job.

I think we all share a lot of taste and sensibility. The process was really smooth for the most part. I think the Colonel said he’s never been so happy so quickly with that kind of thing. Les and I really belabored the story beforehand, but when it came time for Rich to flesh it out, things went very quickly. Now that the story exists in this comic book form it’s even easier to imagine it becoming a feature some day. And you never know!”

    Claypool added:

“‘The Great Parrot Ox And The Golden Egg Of Empathy‘ was over three years in the making and was the most labor intensive recording I have ever been involved in. The results are something Shiner and I are very proud of; a relevant concept piece accompanied by a colorful, phantasmic comic book.”

  • Bring Me The Horizon Share First 7 Minutes Of “L.I.V.E. In São Paulo” Film

  • Emmure’s Frankie Palmeri Responds After Getting Called Out For Using AI On Warped Tour Announcement Video

When Emmure were announced for this year’s Vans Warped Tour, the event shared an AI video featuring vocalist Frankie Palmeri animated in the style of “The Simpsons.” However, the clip ended up generating backlash from fans in the comment section and led Palmeri to respond to one of them. According to him, “people have made such an incredibly, unnecessarily harsh critique about something so innocuous.”

    Palmeri had the following exchange:

Instagram user: “All the money y’all make & you can’t hire an artist to make this, instead you use ai?”

Palmeri: “I have an artist I work with regularly when I aim to make content like this. Due to time restrictions, they weren’t able to produce the content without cutting corners. To be completely honest, I didn’t even want to make anything for this announcement. But, with respect to @vanswarpedtour and @kevinlyman I went ahead and made an announcement video clip. That’s all this is.

You and countless other people have made such an incredibly, unnecessarily harsh critique about something so innocuous I’m actually shocked. Sorry I didn’t want to pretend to smile at a camera and talk about a “punk rock” fest, that of which I never even asked to be a part of to begin with. After 9 albums, a dozen music videos, countless live shows, the fucking audacity to lambast me over 15 seconds of “artificial” art is astonishing.
    Thanks.”

  • UnityTX Premiere “STFU” Video

UnityTX have premiered a new video for their new song “STFU.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Somewhere, In Between…,” which will be released on March 13. Vocalist Jay “Shaolin G” Webster said the following about the single:

“‘STFU’ is a song that evokes a sense of insignificance in the face of the vastness of the world. Once the haze of success dissipates, you realize how precarious mental stability feels amidst growing pains, increased exposure, and the constant barrage of online opinions about you. Ultimately, my goal is to avoid the noise, but I’m surrounded by constant challenges that test my limits. It often seems easier to cut ties than to immerse myself in a system that will always find fault in every approach.”
