• Sabaton Recruit Nothing More For New Song “Crossing The Rubicon”

Sabaton have recruited Nothing More for a new song titled “Crossing The Rubicon.” You can check that out below. The non-collaborative version of the track is from Sabaton’s new album, “Legends,” which will be released on October 17.

Members of Sabaton commented on the collaboration:

    Frontman Joakim Brodén:

“Working with our American brothers in Nothing More on our new single ‘Crossing The Rubicon’ has been an absolute pleasure. When we shared the song with the guys, they really liked it and were genuinely excited about a collaboration, which got us really pumped. There’s something powerful about bringing two worlds together in music.”

    Bassist Pär Sundström:

“I’m really glad we got the chance to team up with our new labelmates Nothing More for this one. Collaborating with them added a cool touch. This one’s a special treat for both their fans and ours!”

Members of Nothing More chimed in as well:

    Frontman Jonny Hawkins:

“This song awakens that old, war spirit in me and makes me want to ride a horse straight into the gates of hell. I’m proud to be a part of it with such an incredible band like Sabaton.”

    Guitarist Mark Vollelunga:

“We are very honored and excited to release this collaboration with our newfound Swedish labelmates Sabaton. It was fun to do something a little different than we were used to, and we’re stoked they wanted us to put our special Nothing More sauce on their Scandinavian Metal.”

Sundström also discussed the theme of the single, which focuses on Julius Caesar:

“Everyone knows the phrase ‘Veni, vidi, vici.’ It’s iconic, just like Caesar himself. He was a force of nature who reshaped an entire empire. And his story…well it’s pure Sabaton material. When we did some internal trials of the new songs and got our closest friends and colleagues to listen to it, we quickly noticed that this was one of the—if not the—top tracks from our new album. Let’s see if the fans agree.”

    Brodén added:

“Julius Caesar is an incredibly intriguing figure and let’s be real, he’s known all around the world for a reason! His story is legendary. He was a brilliant general, a bold leader, and a trailblazer of ancient history. His story has war, ambition, betrayal…everything that fits right into the world of Sabaton. He didn’t just fight battles; he changed the course of history. That mix of strategy, drama, and raw power made him a go-to choice for LEGENDS.”

  • Not Enough Space Premiere “Weaponize Your Rage” Video

Not Enough Space have shared an official video for the title track of their newly released album “Weaponize Your Rage.” You can check that out below. The band commented:

“Our title track, ‘Weaponize Your Rage‘, explores the power of turning anger into strength. Instead of running from pain, the song embraces it — transforming rage into a weapon. It captures the journey of confronting personal struggles through the imagery of burning everything in your path as a means of overcoming. One lyric that encapsulates this idea of rage as a catalyst for growth and liberation is: ‘When you light a match, the damage could cost you everything. When you light a match, you’ll find what no one wants you to see.’ This song aims to set the stage for the album to embrace what it is like to find yourself through hardship, and grow with your emotions, versus letting them hold you back.”

  • The Smashing Pumpkins Release New Song “Chrome Jets”

The Smashing Pumpkins have released a new song titled “Chrome Jets.” The track was recorded during the sessions for the band’s latest album “Aghori Mhori Mei.”

Vocalist/guitarist Billy Corgan previously told Goldmine the following about the single:

“There’s a song that’s not on the record; it’s a b-side. We’ve held it aside, and it’s called ‘Chrome Jets‘, and it’ll probably come out at some point. But we were working in Nashville, it was me, Jimmy and a local bass player, who was just jamming with us, and I wrote this riff for the song ‘Chrome Jets‘ because I was kind of musing on the Sunset Strip music from the mid-’80s.

A lot of early hair metal had a lot to do with their interpretation of [’70s] glam. But it was a simplified version of glam; if you listen to Sweet in ’72 and some of the Sunset Strip bands in ’82, you can hear the connection. But it’s a simpler version, more metallic and a little heavier, but also not as complex.”

    He also added:

“So, I was using that as a formula for maybe there being a way where we can kind of get back into earlier riff modality without over-intellectualizing what we do. Because that can be part of the problem, you start to over-intellectualize the riff if you’ve been around it for a while. Like, “What does the riff mean?” Sometimes, a riff is just a good riff. (laughs)

And [Black Sabbath’s] Tony Iommi is my absolute hero in that regard. Tony has a way of writing these riffs that seem bigger than the song. They sound like mountains to me; they just move in this celestial sphere. So, that song, ‘Chrome Jets‘, was really the watershed moment where I saw we could get back to making a primitive form of what we did. But more so based on our earlier thinking than trying to reverse engineer and pretend we can be 25 again. I know that’s way too convoluted, but honestly, that’s how it works.”

  • The Plot In You Premiere “Silence” Music Video

  • Spineshank’s New Music Will Surface “Probably Sometime Next Year”

During an interview with Discoveringbands By Michael Nagy, Spineshank drummer Tommy Decker offered another update on the band’s new music plans. According to him, the material will surface “probably sometime next year.”

    Decker said the following:

“There’s some stuff [in the works]. There’s some stuff. It might be a little while [before it’s released]. We’ve gotta get this guy and this guy on it, so Tommy Junior and Hager, the new additions to the band. So we got a few songs. We’ll see what happens. [It will arrive] probably sometime next year.”

He also added the following about the musical direction:

“It’s more Spineshank. We like to have the heaviness. We like to have the melody. Everyone wants the electronics. So it’s just Spineshank 13 years later. It’s always gonna be heavy. It’s always gonna be a nice hook and there’s always gonna be electronics. So it’s who we are.”
