  • Avatar Premiere New Song “Death And Glitz”

Avatar have premiered a new song titled “Death And Glitz.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Don’t Go In The Forest,” which will be released on Halloween (October 31).

    Vocalist Johannes Eckerström commented:

“‘Death and Glitz’ is a song about perversion and detachment. A homeless, young runaway collapses and dies on a dancefloor. The crime scene tape becomes a red velvet rope. The investigator’s camera flashes like paparazzi on the red carpet. We love her for dying. Now, she’s perfect. Obedient. Anything you want.

The true crime genre is as sick as the sickest goregrind band you’ve ever heard. Its popularity and the form in which it’s being consumed, as a choice between Mickey Mouse and hospital dramas, reveals a darkness. The best ones are when it’s someone young and attractive. A couple goes hiking. Only the man returns. What do we project on this very real person’s very real tragedy? Do we see ourselves, with a strange envy for being so desired? Do we see a canvas on which we can paint the perfect future, if we were there to make it right? Do we completely dehumanize the victim and those who lost her, obsessed with the puzzle? No matter the reason, it is clear that no one is more obedient than the dead. People simply like it when death has a nice rack.”

  • Wiltwither Share Video For “Front Door Phobia” Featuring Johnny Booth’s Andrew Herman

Wiltwither have premiered a new video for their new song “Front Door Phobia.” The track, which features Johnny Booth’s Andrew Herman, is from the band’s new album “Pure Light,” which will be released on October 31.

Wiltwither said the following about the single:

“‘Front Door Phobia‘ touches on the graphic nature of modern society. It unapologetically explores concepts of isolation, political unrest, and the ever-growing tally of daily war crimes in a visceral, adrenaline-pumping track. Relentless low end crushes against you as you’re assaulted by panicked vocals and screeching guitars reminding you that every moment spent amongst ‘the public’ may be your last.

The track also features Andrew Herman of Johnny Booth; a truly special moment on the record for us. He and the rest of the Booth guys have helped shape us into who we are both as creatives and people, and it’s nothing short of a pleasure to have him join us on such an important song for our career.”

Drummer Tyler Syphertt also commented on the album:

“We took a lot of steps in order to define who we are musically. Much of my background is in hip-hop, R&B, and jazz, so those elements seep through the record. The influences were all over the place—from Kendrick Lamar to Jesus Molina. We got these slight undertones of retro mid-century futurism by researching classified projects like MK Ultra and other historical events. Instead of just being heavy, there’s a ton of ear candy. We took leaps into new territory.”

    Vocalist Nick Rendelman added:

“This record discusses the good, the bad, and the ugly of life. It also shows humans coming together and sharing their experiences, thoughts, and perspectives with one another at a level they had never imagined. If you’re experiencing the record as a whole, I’d love for you to walk away caring about your neighbor a little bit more. For as heavy as it is, the message is to be kinder and more compassionate.”

    “Pure Light” Track Listing:

    01. “Act I“
    02. “New Pain“
    03. “Front Door Phobia” (feat. Andrew Herman of Johnny Booth)
