Evergrey have officially welcomed Stephen Platt (Scar Symmetry) to the band as their new guitarist. He will serve as a replacement for Henrik Danhage, who recently exited the group.
The band commented:
“We played a lot of shows with Stephen Platt already, he’s an incredibly lovely human being on top of being a brilliant guitar player, we couldn’t be happier to have him join us for real!”
Platt added:
“I’m so happy to become the new guitarist of Evergrey. I’ve been a fan of the band for a long time now and am extremely honored to have been asked by this group of incredible musicians and people. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds!”
With this news, Evergrey have also shared a new video for their new song “The World Is On Fire.” That track is from the band’s new album, “Architects Of A New Weave,” which will be released on June 5. Frontman Tom S. Englund commented:
“‘The World Is On Fire’ was one of those rare songs that reached inside me and articulated feelings I hadn’t even fully recognized yet. Once again, our timing, just as with the song ‘Save Us’ is both haunting and profound. To me, this isn’t just a lament — it’s an uprising. It’s a defiant stand against the forces that thrive on chaos, fear, and silence. They want us scared, quiet, and compliant. But all we want is to raise free-spirited, free-thinking, and independent children who can help build a better world — for us, for them, and for everyone. The devastating lack of compassion and humanity is at the root of everything we see around us. This song isn’t passive acceptance or mere description of our broken reality. Primal Fear bassist Mat Sinner will be sitting out the band’s South American tour due to injury. During his absence, Gamma Ray’s Dirk Schlächter will fill in.
The group commented:
“An important message to all our fans about the South American Tour.
Sadly we have to tell you that Mat won’t be able to join the band on the forthcoming shows in ARG & BRA. Mat lost a fight against a drumriser in London and slashed his right leg in a very evil way. After some more shows the doctors in Norway planned to have a surgery on his leg because the infection was already on a bad level and to prevent a sepsis. Mat is now at home and needs to recover for another 3-4 weeks to avoid any operation. Doctors say it would be a huge risk to sit in a plane for 15 hours – health comes first.
This wasn’t an easy decision. We know many of you were looking forward to seeing us together on stage and Mat is truly sorry for any disappointment this may cause. We promise to give 200% on the shows and Mat will be replaced by Gamma Ray’s Dirk Schlächter.

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen was recently bitten by a “massive spider” while touring with AC/DC in Mexico. Ironically, this news comes after the singer was previously bitten by a bat while touring with AC/DC in Spain. Momsen commented:
“🕷️🕷️🕷️ So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…this time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl? 🕷️🕷️🕷️🦇🦇🦇 WTF 😬”
Radiohead have announced a touring art installation called “Motion Picture House: KID A MNESIA.” The new exhibit, which is set to debut at Coachella, will feature artwork Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood created during the “Kid A” and “Amnesiac” sessions backed by music from the original multitracks. It will also include galleries with full-scale artwork.

“Fans will recall the ‘KID A MNESIA’ exhibition directed by Sean Evans and featured on Epic Games Store and PS5, aptly described by The Verge as ‘unsettling and beautiful.’ ‘KID A MNESIA’ was originally intended as an experience in a physical space and while the pandemic necessitated Epic Games’ Unreal Engine transporting the project to a virtual world, Motion Picture House is the actualization of the original idea: an opportunity for audiences to be completely enveloped in the world of ‘Kid A’ and ‘Amnesiac.’ In the flesh, on a large scale and featuring a custom built 6-point surround system for which the music was specifically remixed, ‘KID A MNESIA’ features a narrative designed by its creators—in Thom Yorke’s words—’in which a Monster is trapped in a derelict museum of the lost & forgotten.’ Gorgeous, visceral and slightly anxiety-inducing, ‘KID A MNESIA’ is an epic wander through the masterpieces that inspired it—a time and place that 25 years ago, Radiohead cautioned us to enter at our own peril.”
Sleep Theory have shared a new live video for their song “Words Are Worthless.” The clip was filmed during the band’s February 12 show at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, England. The track appears on their latest album “Afterglow.”
