• Crystal Lake Part Ways With Vocalist John Robert Centorrino

Crystal Lake have parted ways with vocalist John Robert Centorrino. The band’s upcoming shows will move forward with guest vocalists.

    The group said the following:

“We have an announcement to share.

It has been an incredibly busy few years leading up to the release of our album ‘The Weight of Sound.’ We started the year on a high, releasing the record in January and having a great time together with fans across Europe and the UK. 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest years we’ ve ever had.

Last year was also nonstop for Crystal Lake. We were writing and recording while moving from continent to continent playing some of the biggest shows of our career. During this busy time creating The Weight of Sound album, John welcomed his child into the world. That brought a deeper meaning to the core idea behind the song and album title, the weight that comes with balancing life, family, and being in a touring band

Some of us in the band and on our team are fathers, so we understand both the joy of those short moments at home and the challenge of being away for long periods of time. John has given everything to make it work for us and his daughter, but the international distances and schedule demands have made it increasingly difficult for him to balance the two.

So, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the mutual decision to part ways so John can focus on a path that allows him a healthier balance in his life and music career. We truly want this for John and, as hard as it is for both of us, we know it is the right decision.

We want to thank John for the past three years and for everything he has brought to Crystal Lake. We are also grateful to all of you who welcomed him into this band, as well as our team and partners who continue to stand with us through every step,

Crystal Lake has no intention of stopping. Our band is fortunate to have talented friends, and some of them have offered to fill in until we find our new singer.

John remains part of our extended family, and we know you will continue to support him in whatever comes next.

For all currently confirmed shows, we will continue playing with special guest vocalists filling in and remain more active than ever.

We hope to see you out there as we continue our tour through Japan, Asia, Indonesia, Australia, the United States, and back to Europe later this year.

    With love and gratitude,

    Crystal Lake”

Centorrino also commented in a new video statement [transcribed by The PRP]:

“So it really sucks that I have to make this video. So I’m going to try to make it short. I’m no longer the singer of Crystal Lake, and that’s like one of the hardest decisions I think I’ve ever had to make in my recent adult life, considering how hard it was to get to this point, and everything I’ve been through, and how much work we’ve all put into this situation.

But, logistically, the way this is running doesn’t allow me to be the type of father I want. It doesn’t mean that I don’t want to tour — I do want to tour. I love touring. But like, I don’t have proper memories of my kid as a baby, I only have pictures. You know, I come home stiff, and she lives in Hawaii, and she’s over a year and I fucking hate that. I hate it.

It’s been so hard for everyone involved trying to find a way to balance this, but this is the right move for me. So I’m going to keep touring, and I’m going to be in a band again. But I have to be somewhere that allows me to be a dad too. Not that there’s anything wrong with Crystal Lake. I love Crystal Lake… but I need to do this. So in all, I’m going to find another job, and I’m going to sing more and you’re gonna hear me, I’m not going anywhere.

The time that we’ve shared together and what we’ve turned out in the last couple of years together as a band and a team and you guys — with you guys, I mean — has been incredible, and I love every one of you more than anything in the world. I really do. I mean that so fucking much, and I hate this. But this isn’t goodbye, and we will do this again, but when things are better.

I love you guys, more than anything and I’ll see you soon.”

  • The Barbarians Of California Premiere “Vanilla Latte” Video

The Barbarians Of California have premiered a new video for their new song “Vanilla Latte.” Guitarist Eric Stenman commented:

“For ‘Vanilla Latte,’ we dip back into our thrashy side with the usual dose of sarcasm and irreverence. The music video for this one has to be my favorite yet. It was shot entirely during our time on the ‘ShipRocked” cruise… so much fun!”

  • Godthrymm Premiere “Truth In My Own” Video

Godthrymm (ex-My Dying Bride, etc.) have premiered a new video for their new song “Truth In My Own.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Projections,” which will be released on May 29.

Hamish Glencross commented on the single:

“We picked ‘Truth In My Own’ as the lead single as it is the most fist clenching and headbanging song on the album! ‘Projections’ brings much contrast and diversity as we’ve pushed the sonic extremities of our sound, and we hope you enjoy this first very direct heavy metal song complete with a suitably frenetic video directed by the masterful Ash Pears. Cheers!”

He also added the following about the album:

“On this new album we present to you songs that channel our passion, our sorrow, our love, our fury — the very essence that makes us who we are, and we hope you find some kindred reflection in yourselves on this journey.

Our first album, ‘Reflections’, was a rekindling of our passion and fire for the music we love. The second album, ‘Distortions’, took that template and evolved it ever further with grandeur and vision. ‘Projections’ takes everything that has brought us to this point and delves into our very musical souls with the appropriate introspection, diversity, and contrasts of our emotions that define us. This is who we are, and we project all of this through our new album.”

    “Projections” Track Listing:

    01. “Trenches Deep” (feat. Adie Bailey and Jay Walsh)
    02. “Truth In My Own”
    03. “The Sun Never Fell”
    04. “Endure My Skin” (feat. Aaron Stainthorpe)
    05. “Jewels”
    06. “Hope Is Eternal”

  • Blaze Bayley And Gypsy’s Kiss Added To Iron Maiden’s Eddfest

Iron Maiden’s former singer Blaze Bayley and bassist Steve Harris’ former band Gypsy’s Kiss have both been added to Eddfest. That event will take place at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire, UK on July 10-11.

    Bayley commented:

“I’m so excited to be invited to headline Friday night at Eddfest, celebrating 50 years of Iron Maiden. I am so proud of my two albums with the band and I’m really looking forward to playing some of the songs that we recorded together. Can’t wait to see you all at the hallowed grounds of Knebworth!”

    Harris added:

“Having the opportunity to put together our very own festival at Knebworth, and celebrate 50 years of Iron Maiden, has given me a chance to bring together friends past and present and create a really special weekend for the fans.

I’m very pleased that Blaze is able to join us and perform some of the songs we wrote and recorded in the ’90s. He has been a big part of Iron Maiden’s career and I know the fans will be really excited to see him on stage at Eddfest. It’s also great to have Gypsy’s Kiss playing with us at Knebworth too. They were a big part of my musical heritage and it’s really exciting to have them play at the Maidenville stage.”

  • Lex Legion (King Diamond, Etc.) Premiere “Sleep Eternally” Video

Lex Legion, the new project featuring King Diamond alumni Mikkey Dee, Andy La Rocque, Pete Blakk, and Hal Patino alongside Pagan’s Mind’s Nils K. Rue, have premiered a new video for their new song “Sleep Eternally.” This track is from the band’s new self-titled album, which will be released on June 12.

La Rocque said the following about the single:

“It has elements of everything on the album. The right tempo and the right kind of vocals, starting out like a fist in your face!”

Dee also commented on the album:

“Lex Legion is totally written the way we thought in the ’80s. We wrote what we wanted, and if you liked it, that was a great bonus. If you didn’t like it, that was fine with us, too!”

    Blakk added:

“This is totally unique. No one is writing this kind of music and there’s a big hole for us to fill. Welcome to our new journey of friendship and hard rock!”

  • Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Jawfane

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Jawfane.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

JAWFANE: Jawfane is a post-hardcore outfit based in Nashville, Tennessee. Assembled from old and new players to the Nashville hardcore scene, We’ve set out on a mission to be true to ourselves as artists, and to connect to our fellow man. Constantly pushing the envelope on our abilities and the art of catharsis.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

JAWFANE: Speaking for myself, (Jesse Jawfane), some artists I found influential are Woodkid, If These Trees Could Talk, Faunts, The Protomen, Loathe… I could go on, but those bands have had a stranglehold on me.

As for Cory, I’ve done poorly on memorizing bandnames, but he’s far more cultured than I am when it comes to the scene’s music. Lotta Taking Back Sunday and the like. Don Broco. Loooootta Don Broco. Love that.

For Chase, It’s Tool, bar none. I can say the same. Their approach to music has done a lot to change what we thought was possible.

For AJ, It’s Dance Gavin Dance and System of a Down. I’ve known him to listen to some electronic music, but I am horrible and can’t remember. I know I can feel it through his drum playing. Stellar stuff man.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

JAWFANE: Our latest single, ‘Raise’ featuring Paulsdeeep, comes long awaited after being confined to only live performances in The First Age of Jawfane. Original vocalist Paul Graham returns to bring the house down for one more song. It was thrilling to collaborate again and do this song justice after so long. A lot of work went into bringing this song into the world again. For the music video that accompanied the single, we meticulously scoured archival footage of past shows. Brought back a lot of good memories. I hope to share the feeling with you, dear reader.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

JAWFANE: A rich sonic experience, fueled by the chemistry of some of Nashville’s most tenacious in the scene. A sense of brotherhood. We want you to feel like you’re in a space where you can feel and understand our mission:

A catharsis and connection like no other. Every note, every lyric, every layer is crafted to resonate with real people—the fans who show up, share the journey, and carry the songs with them. We’re building a space where emotion has shape, intensity meets reflection, and the experience is collective.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

JAWFANE: The Ryman Auditorium. Three more albums, at least 2. More singles, hoodies, more friends, more opportunities to play alongside amazing people. Five more years of knowledge under our belt on our instruments, and the chance to become better songwriters along the way.

Oh, and a deal with Yuengling. Heheheh.

  • Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Versus

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Versus.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

VERSUS: We are currently a three-piece post-hardcore band out of Leeds and we have been going for the last 10 years on and off with various different sounds but have since discovered where we are the most comfortable sonically and as a band. We kinda write music that we love, and we put it out there for other people to interpret it in their own ways, you know?

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

VERSUS: Who isn’t an influence these days? The industry is absolutely bursting at the seams for talent and inspiration, and music has been around for centuries, so there are plenty of songwriters that inspire us from all over the place. I think at this point in time, we are more influenced by bands like Dayseeker, Pendulum, BMTH and loads of other bands from that particular arena, but we also have pop influences like Taylor Swift (I can’t believe I just said that but it’s true – she is a phenomenal song writer with a killer business plan), Motown influences like Quincy Jones (great music writing in that era) and all the way back to taking influence from classical composers like Bach and Vivaldi.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

VERSUS: The latest release was the back end of January and is called ‘All Good Things’ – it’s from our debut album, ‘The Catalyst,’ which is our finest writing to date. Like I said before, we have found our sweet spot sonically, so it is time to build on those foundations. Why should people go and listen to us? Well, it’s because this album is a killer, the best music we have written so far, and we think it is fucking awesome!

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

VERSUS: We try to give everything we’ve got at shows so that they’re a little more intense than they used to be! We try and create that experience that every fan wants to have at a show, so through months of planning we use first and foremost, our music and the energy we bring to the stage alone but we incorporate visuals and special effects to put everything together and deliver that killer experience everyone wants.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

VERSUS: We’ll be playing more and more shows all over the UK to way bigger audiences than we are now, hitting more festivals and potentially some continental or transatlantic tours, who knows? We will have had a couple more albums out by then, so all we can really say is, get tickets, support live music and come hang with us now, before it gets all kinds of crazy and shit! x

  • Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With David Moore & Westridge

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with David Moore of David Moore & Westridge.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band?

MOORE: I came up with the artist name which includes my name in case anyone in my past recognizes it and the Westridge part comes from the name of an apartment complex where I met my good friend and writing partner Jim Patterson (1956-2013) which is basically where my music career began. The “band” is currently a studio project consisting of myself and various other artists from around the world ( US, UK, Spain) who contribute.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

MOORE: I grew up listening to the sounds of the late 60’s – early 70’s which all influenced me, however I feel my main influence was Led Zeppelin. Not only because I love their music and am always attracted to good guitar work, but in listening and studying the production work of Jimmy Page I developed an interest in producing and mixing my own music.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out? L

MOORE: If you like good guitar work as I do, then I believe ‘Mysteries Of Life’ is worth checking out. The main guitar tracks were played by Jay Michael Smith of the band The Speaker Wars…a band which includes Stan Lynch of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and is a member of the rock and roll hall of fame, so Michael has the creds and is a world class guitarist.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

MOORE: Currently I have no plans to perform live. Being a studio project it would be a logistical nightmare to try and get everyone together at the same time.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

MOORE: I tend to plan only a year in advance. Life changes so fast and the music industry is changing even faster. So currently I am focused on completing the album I am working on titled ‘A Wink Is As Good As A Nod To A Blind Mule’ of which ‘Mysteries Of Life’ is part of, then I plan on taking a break through the summer. After that I will remix my second album which I rushed to get released in 2023 just six months after my first release, and I want to do a better job on it.

  • Saint Agnes Premiere “The Ghost” Video

Saint Agnes have premiered a new video for their new song “The Ghost.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Your God Fearing Days Are About To Begin,” which will be released on May 29. Kitty A. Austen said the following about the single:

“I wrote this song about often feeling like I disappear, I become invisible in certain settings, certain situations. Words fail me and I merge into the background. I envisioned dancing surrounded by people but feeling completely on my own. It’s the soundtrack to a hot, sweaty night in a vampire nightclub, the blood rave just before dawn. Euphoria washes over the bodies as the dark driving beats pulsate through the club. We’ve turned my sadness into a banger and now I can dance to it.”

  • Cradle Of Filth’s Dani Filth On New Material: “I Think It’s Heavier”

During a recent interview with That Aussie Metal Guy, Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth discussed the material the band are working on for their next album. According to him, “it’s heavier.”

    Filth said the following:

“The new album, [which] we are going into the studio and recording in as little as three to four weeks, is a step up from [‘The Screaming Of The Valkyries’]. I think it’s heavier. There’s some really brutal parts in it. But there’s a lot of melody. There’s a shit-ton of atmosphere. A couple of very, very catchy songs, but I would say, yeah, heavy-wise, it’s pushed it up to 13.”

He continued when asked where his lyrical inspirations come from:

“All over the place. I try and surround myself with literature, music. I went looking at houses yesterday with my fiancée, and we were driving all around the English countryside, and, yeah, that was inspirational. I get inspiration from all kinds of things. It strikes in the middle of the night.

In order not to be predictable, I think it’s also good that you can draw inspiration from all kinds of things. And should I get like a complete block, which happens to the best of us, I go for a walk or drive, do something completely off the wall. ‘Cause you don’t know where it’s gonna strike, and you just need something to give you a bit of a kick and knock the ideas out of you.”
