In Hearts Wake Premiere New Song “W2HA”

In Hearts Wake have premiered a new song titled “W2HA (Welcome To Hell A).” This track is from the soundtrack of the band’s “Green Is The New Black” documentary, which will be released on August 5. Jake Taylor commented:

“’W2HA (Welcome To Hell A)’ was written during my time living in Los Angeles. I’d never experienced such a disturbing divide between wealth and poverty. I would often ride my bike through Venice Beach. There were the most insane Hollywood mansions and then one block away there would be tent villages full of desperation, crime and suffering. The separation was confusing, and the dog-eat-dog hustle mentality didn’t feel right. LA was a fragile man-made oasis built on a volatile desert. I experienced a 7.1 magnitude Earthquake and then weeks later Malibu went up in flames, raining ash all over the city. For me it was like living in some sort of concrete Hell.”

In Hearts Wake Team Up With Alpha Wolf For New Song “Dogma”

In Hearts Wake have teamed up with Alpha Wolf for a new song titled “Dogma.” This track is from the deluxe edition of In Hearts Wake’s latest album “Kaliyuga.“ The effort, which the group are calling the “Kaliyuga Booster Pack,“ will be available on February 11 and it will feature various bonus tracks including: “Dogma,” “War,” and “Torn In Two,” as well as live versions of “Crisis,” “Worldwide Suicide,” “Timebomb,” “Son Of A Witch,” and “Hellbringer.” The band commented:

“We set ourselves the challenge to write an entire song about dogs and had so much fun doing it. Sticking true to the theme, who better to ask to feature on ‘Dogma‘ than Alpha Wolf? Working with the dudes from Alpha Wolf was an enjoyable process. They take pride in their work and know how to have fun. Woof Woof! ‘Dogma‘ is part of our upcoming ‘Kaliyuga Booster Pack‘, which includes three brand new songs and also five live tracks from the Brisbane Tivoli — the only show thus far on the ‘Kaliyuga‘ album cycle. With the rest of the rescheduled Australia ‘Kaliyuga‘ tour finally happening in one month and it already being 80 percent sold, we absolutely can’t wait to crush stages all across the country!”

In Hearts Wake Premiere “Moving On” Video

In Hearts Wake have premiered a new video for their new song “Moving On.“ This track is from the band’s new album “Kaliyuga,“ which was released today (August 7). The group said the following:

“‘Moving On‘ celebrates letting go of that which no longer serves us. The song and its video are a celebration of transformation and getting back to what really matters. As we regrow our roots, we remember our way forward. Like many songs from the album, it is a track of ruthless self-examination. Probing personal and transpersonal insights into the human condition, searching for what helps or hinders the way forward.”

In Hearts Wake Premiere “Dystopia” Video

In Hearts Wake have premiered a new video for their new song “Dystopia.“ This track is from the band’s new album “Kaliyuga,“ which will be released on August 7. Frontman Jake Taylor said the following:

“‘Dystopia‘ speaks of the fourth cycle and present age of the world known in Hinduism as ‘Kaliyuga’. ‘Kaliyuga’ is often referred to as the dark age due to the predominate traits of discord, disconnection, destruction, materialism, oppression, cruelty and fear. We look for the cause to cast the blame, but humanity need only look itself in the mirror. It is time for us to face and overcome the issues and challenges that currently threaten all life on Earth.”

In Hearts Wake Premiere New Video For “Hellbringer” Feat. Jamie Hails (Polaris)

In Hearts Wake have premiered a new video for their new song “Hellbringer.“ This track features Polaris vocalist Jamie Hails and it will appear on the band’s new album “Kaliyuga,“ which is set to be released on August 7.

In Hearts Wake vocalist Jake Taylor commented:

“At some of our American shows extremist groups have picketed outside, telling our fans that they’re ‘going to hell’. If only they knew just how positive the energy inside the venue was! Never judge a book by it’s cover. So rather than fight hate with hate, we decided to have some fun and lean into the metal stereotype.

In 2020 with live streams becoming the new norm, we decided to stage our own hell-bent circus. We thought it would be funny to ask Jamie to dress up as a werewolf, turn me into a vampire and rain blood on the entire band. Guess Halloween came early this year. Thank you Blade.”

In Hearts Wake Premiere Animated Video For New Song “Son Of A Witch”, Reveal Details For New Album “Kaliyuga”

In Hearts Wake have premiered an animated video for their new song “Son Of A Witch.” This track is from the band’s new album “Kaliyuga,” which will be released on August 7.

Jake Taylor said the following about the video:

“Coronavirus turned our video cartoon. These challenging times are forcing us to adapt, evolve and discover new ways of doing things. I scoured the internet for an animation team who could bring to life this emotive, sensitive and archetypal narrative about humanity’s neglect and mistreatment of Mother Earth. I’ve never written or directed animation before, but it opened up new possibilities and for that I’m grateful”

He also said the band worked to reduce their carbon footprint with the album:

“During the recording process we measured every power socket, counted every light, pound of freight, food consumption, driving mile and airfare taken. We were then able to find the total carbon footprint and offset it by supporting a rewilding project in Australia on First Nations land. Our mission to help support and sustain life on earth has made us realise that less is more. Many industries are evolving, and as musicians we feel it’s time to do our part. It’s been challenging to navigate the retail hurdles, find sustainable materials and successful companies that embody our ethos, but through a bit of research we’ve discovered that there are many solutions out there.”

A press release continued:

“In Hearts Wake‘ calculated the recording process of the album to be 26.37 tonnes of CO2e which has been entirely offset through the purchase of carbon credits in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor of Western Australia. The album will also be packaged and manufactured plastic free.”

The band also added the following in a social media post:

“Our primary goal for this album was to reduce our carbon footprint however possible, whilst not detracting from the quality of songs or live shows. We have researched ways to completely offset the carbon emissions in creating this album, & we have worked hard with our label to develop sustainable & eco-friendly physical products. In fact, the reason we don’t have vinyl or CD pre-orders launched yet is because we’re still researching the last pieces of materials that will enable us to deliver high quality & eco-friendly records (we plan to launch these globally on May 27).

Further to that, In Hearts Wake plan to put on shows around the world while keeping these same principles in mind. We won’t be using single use disposable plastics, or CO2 cannons anymore. But we will still do what we’ve always done – which is try & create the most fun, chaotic & energetic live shows possible.

During the touring cycle of our last record ‘Ark’, there were many things that came to light. For instance, the frisbees we had made arrived packaged in single use plastics, backstage rooms filled with disposable plastic bottles, live stage production that was directly releasing plumes of carbon dioxide, & our punctured stage prop inflatables ended up in landfill. Last year, when we all got back together, we made a decision to draw a line in the sand. In Hearts Wake made a commitment to discover all the ways in which we could reduce our impact on the Earth.

We’ll be the first to admit that we aren’t perfect, because being a band that tours globally is problematic. We certainly don’t have all the answers but we’re going to do the best within our means to seek solutions, & learn from the important conversations that happen along the way. We can’t get everything right, but we’ve decided to open up the conversational space so that it may help improve what we do as a band.

Given that our last three albums were inspired by the natural forces of Earth (Earthwalker), Air (Skydancer) & Water (Ark), it only seemed fitting that our next album would be born of fire. But we couldn’t predict the craziness that was to come: the writing & recording process was surrounded by three catastrophic fires; the raging Californian wildfires, the burning of the Amazon rainforest & the devastating Australian bushfires that killed over 1 billion animals.

According to many ancients, Kaliyuga is the fourth & current age we are experiencing. A time when humanity would be forced to face itself through discord, destruction, disease, greed, materialism, & fear. But it is our belief that we were all born into these times for a reason. It is through our journey of discovery–both as individuals & as a community–that we have an opportunity to evolve & overcome. Now more than ever, we need to dream what we want the future to look like, & take the necessary steps to create it.

These times are indeed challenging, but quite often the greatest places are the hardest to get to. Although most of the terrain is yet unknown, we look forward to discovering what lies on the path ahead. Thank you so much for your support on this ever-unfolding journey. Here’s to Kaliyuga & beyond!”

In Hearts Wake Premiere “Worldwide Suicide” Video

In Hearts Wake have premiered a new video for their new song “Worldwide Suicide.” Notably, the band are planning to plant a tree for every 1,000 views the clip gets.

Jake Taylor commented:

“The Antarctic has reached an all time high temperature of 20.78C. The Australian bushfires have burned over 12 million hectares of land, killing over 1 billion animals. The Climate Crisis is pounding on our door and we need to take action while there is still a window to turn it around. It’s time for profound systemic change as individuals and as a community.”

“Last year I attended the NYC Climate strike and half a million passionate people showed up led by Greta Thunberg. It was the first time in a while that I felt so much hope for the future. When we gathered at Battery Park I felt inspired to pull out my voice recorder. Greta delivered an incredible speech. Some of the elders around me likened it to the time they heard Martin Luther King deliver his ‘I have a dream’ speech in the 60’s. One week later our track ‘Crisis’ was born.”

“We are aware that the Worldwide Suicide video is confronting. We created this not to shock or cause despair but to incite positive action. In the spirit of this, the band has committed to plant 1 tree for every 1K views, restoring part of a vital ecosystem with the hope that every viewer and their descendants will one day enjoy its benefits.

Music is both our art and our platform. I feel we have a responsibility as artists to challenge the status quo. What challenges has the potential to create change. If we can change, then we can evolve.”
