The lineup has been revealed for next year’s ProgPower USA festival. The event will be held in Atalanta, GA on September 9-12 and it will feature the following:
September 9: The Reticent, Noveria, Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory, Threshold, and Ensiferum.
September 10: Fires In The Distance, Scardust, Teramaze, Elvenking (“Heathenreel & The Winter Wake” set), Conception, and Eluveitie.
September 11: DGM, Brainstorm, Crimson Glory, HammerFall, Nevermore, and Evergrey.
September 12: Sunburst, Seven Spires, Roy Khan, Redemption, The Gathering (feat. Anneke Van Giersbergen), and Voyager.
Slipknot‘s 1999 self-titled album has officially been certified triple platinum by the RIAA. This news comes shortly after the band released a deluxe 25th anniversary edition of the record. More details on that set can be found HERE.
Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) is set to be honored during Hope The Mission’s “Hope In The City Of Angels” gala event at BMO stadium in Los Angeles, CA on October 18. The frontman is being recognized for his volunteer work, which includes lengthy stints barbecuing for vulnerable and unhoused people. Hope The Mission commented:
“Long regarded as one of the most respected and prolific presences in modern music, Dave Grohl has been equally passionate in his offstage service to his local community. Without fanfare, Dave has volunteered for days at a time, preparing and serving meals to people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. At this year’s gala, we honor him for inspiring advocacy on behalf of the less fortunate in his backyard, just as his music has provided hope and solace for fans the world over.”
Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery has offered an update on the band’s upcoming album. According to him, the band are preparing to start pre-production.
Lowery said the following:
“Nov 1994 I joined Crawlspace. Made a big leap of faith leaving an established band I was in to join up with a band that had the intensity and aggression I hadn’t heard at that time and I wanted in. Morgan played ‘Black‘ demo in a car in the parking lot of masquerade in Atlanta and played ‘Bitch‘ after. I was hooked.
“Here we are many years later writing for our 14th(15th if you count ‘Time travelers‘) and I can honestly say we are in a great headspace and great brotherhood. This is the pic before I left to head home. They’re finishing up now and we will start pre pro with @elvisliberace end of the month. Like Morgan has joked for 30 years….”We gotta lottttttta work to do” and that is true. But I’m not worried.
God will guide us, give us inspiration when it’s needed, patience when it’s required and trust in the team around us. Vinnie is very missed in this pic. Ex-Sodom drummer Guido Richter (aka Atomic Steif) has sadly passed away. Bassist/vocalist Thomas “Angelripper” Such issued a brief statement:
“Dear Sodomaniacs. As I was informed today, our former drummer ‘Atomic Steif’ passed away at the end of last week. The circumstances of his death are currently unknown. R.I.P., pal…”
