• GWAR Face Backlash From MAGA Influencers After “Sacrificing” Donald Trump And Elon Musk At Riot Fest

GWAR have a long history of “assassinating” presidents, celebrities, etc. onstage. Despite this, idiots still come out of the woodwork ever so often to complain about the practice. Case in point, a “Karen” and a MAGA influencer page have called out the band for “sacrificing” Donald Trump and Elon Musk at Riot Fest in Chicago, IL. You can see posts from them and Riot Fest’s defense below. GWAR also issued their own statement via New York Post:

“Normalizing violence? Humans don’t need GWAR for that. There is nothing normal about the Looney Toon violence acted out on a GWAR stage. GWAR is absurdist spectacle. GWAR is to violence what the New York Post is to journalism. Ridiculous.”

  • Iron Maiden Announce Massive UK Concert At Knebworth

Iron Maiden have announced a massive show at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire, UK. The concert will be held on July 11 and it will also feature The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne, and The Almighty. Tickets will go on sale on September 27.

    Manager Rod Smallwood commented:

“We knew that we had to bring the ‘Run For Your Lives’ show back to the U.K. again next summer as there was such a phenomenal demand for tickets this year but we wanted to do something a bit different especially as it would be hard to top the show at London Stadium! Well, we think that Knebworth is the solution — besides being a legendary venue for historic concerts over the years going right back to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The [Rolling] Stones and Queen — it also gives us the outdoor space and control to create something very special for our fans! Of course, we also have history there too with our headline appearances at Sonisphere some years ago, who could forget that World War I Centenary dog fight over the park’s tree line with Bruce full guns blazing in his own Fokker triplane? However, this time we will be taking over the whole of the grounds ourselves and turning it into as much of a ‘Maiden World’ as we can for all our fans to enjoy!

Our Eddie’s Dive Bars have proved immensely popular on this current tour so our intention is to create our biggest one yet which will also be open on the Friday for the campers from the separate communal camping & glamping areas. For those lucky Friday night campers there will be a full program of Maiden-themed entertainment there that night, which we expect to include some live music, DJs, the aforementioned dive bar, along with other attractions and entertainment we are currently working on to make it the best warm up for the big day!

So we hope you will join us next year as we continue to celebrate five decades of Iron Maiden. It’s going to be one for the history books…in a really historic venue!”

  • Misery Signals To Release Farewell Tour Documentary “Love Is Forever, Blood Is Forever” In October

Misery Signals have announced a new documentary focusing on their farewell tour. The film is titled “Love Is Forever, Blood Is Forever” and it will be released on October 19. Director Morgan Tedd commented:

“I’ve loved Misery Signals for as long as I can remember. ‘Of Malice and the Magnum Heart‘ was such a formative album for me and countless other musicians. To be asked to create two music videos for the band, as well as direct their ‘Live in Isolation‘ performance during the Covid years, was an honour. Those projects were made across oceans, but for this documentary, I wanted closeness. I wanted to capture the bond between the band, their fans, and the music itself; to celebrate the joy and intensity of their live performances through a reflective lens, as they toured for the final time before laying Misery Signals to rest. This film is my love letter to the band, and a shared celebration from one fan, to every fan.”

  • Elder Premiere “Liminality” / “Dream State Return” Video

Elder have released a new two-track single. The effort includes “Liminality” and “Dream State Return.” You can find a video for those songs below:

    The group commented:

“After a sort of creative sabbatical in most of 2024, the band reconvened in Berlin last winter to start work on a new album. In the process of that, we decided to dust off a project that had been sitting on the shelf for years. What started as a few scraps from the “Omens” / “Innate Passage” era turned into an 18-minute jam that surprised even us — a track with one foot in our past and one in our future. Feeling this track neither belonged to that older era nor was quite ready for the upcoming Album 7, we chose to record it there on the spot and give it its own space as a special release.

We also did something new: teamed up with our longtime friend @_speedwolf to make a video as sprawling and cinematic as the music itself. It’s essentially a mini-movie, and you can watch the full thing now on YouTube

And because we’re record nerds, we couldn’t just leave it digital. The EP is out now as a one-sided 12” with etching on the B side on translucent coke-bottle green vinyl via @stickmanrecords, with copies available in the US at @armageddonshop and @echodelickrecords. Artwork was once again handled by our amazing friend @adamhillstudio.

This one feels special to us — hope you’ll dig it too.”

  • Igorrr Premiere “Daemoni” Video

Igorrr have shared a new video for their song “Daemoni.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Amen.” Gautier Serre said the following about the single:

“The Earth has a demon inside it. The bright side attempted to convert it but didn’t succeed, and the gong marked the end of all hope. You can hear the demon’s heart. You can hear the ceremony for it to wake up. You can hear the mud and the dirt. You can also hear, with such great strength, the bright side of life fighting before it was destroyed by evil.”

  • Corrosion Of Conformity Share Video For Cover Of Free’s “Fire And Water”

Corrosion Of Conformity have shared a new video for their cover of Free’s “Fire And Water.” You can check that out below. The single serves as the first track from the band’s “Riffissippi Studio Jam Sessions” series.

    Vocalist/guitarist Pepper Keenan commented:

“When we were tracking this record, we had a very cool space set up where we would essentially hang in the large room with everything mic’d and everything we needed, including a turntable and a bunch of our favorite records, which we would play and chill out between takes.

We were hanging together, and I pulled out a Free album and ‘Fire And Water’ popped up. [Drummer] Stanton [Moore] jumped up immediately and said, ‘Who the fuck is that!?’ He had never heard it before. We were baffled, but it was awesome to us that he had never heard it.

He said, ‘let’s cut that!’ I said, ‘man, that’s friggin’ Free and kind of like holy ground that you don’t fuck with.’ But we started thinking about it and damn, Stanton charted it out like the drum wizard he is. I said, ‘I can’t sing like that, man. He’s the king.’ Someone in the room said, ‘just sing it like you,’ so we went for it and had a blast doing it. It was a nice fun break from the recording. It’s nothing too serious, just a bunch of fellas leaning into it, loving the rock. It’s an exercise in restraint. Hope y’all dig it.”
