Disturbed have officially commented on the cancellation of their October 15 show at the Forest National in Brussels, Belgium. As previously reported, local authorities put a stop to the concert due to a potential security risk related to frontman David Draiman’s fierce support of Israel. The singer infamously signed an artillery shell in that country last year.
The band said the following:
“BELGIUM UPDATE
Music is where all our differences fade into the background. Music has the power to heal, to inspire and to bring people together, it’s not about what divides us. We have always made it a point that at our shows ALL are welcome no matter what you believe. Everyone who comes to a Disturbed concert is accepted and loved. We are saddened that our fans in Belgium are not going to be able to share in this celebration of music.
Your tickets will be refunded automatically within 30 days to the payment card used at the time of purchase. You don’t need to take any further action.
We would like to thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your support.”
Opeth will be performing at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, Ireland on August 2. Notably, the show will serve as the band’s only Irish date of 2026.

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Fatal Switch.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
FATAL SWITCH: We’re Fatal Switch, a hybrid nu-metal band out of Montreal. We fuse the raw intensity of heavy metal with the rhythm and venom of hip-hop, wrapped in emotional hooks that hit harder than most are ready for.
Every song is born out of tension, built to bleed truth, and designed to connect with anyone who’s ever felt unheard.
The lineup includes Steve Tobin (vocals), Max Rope (guitar), David Vigliotti (bass), Ralph (drums), with Florencio Saint-Thomas contributing synths on recordings. Kevin Jardine produces and co-writes with us, and Ryann Paqueo helped shape some of the early compositions before stepping back.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
FATAL SWITCH: We take from everywhere, but especially from the artists who blurred lines before us.
That means Korn, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit, Falling in Reverse, Hollywood Undead, Crazy Town, and a ton of underground hip-hop.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
FATAL SWITCH: Our latest track is “Apex”, the lead single from our upcoming EP Black Sky Anthem – Dusk.
We wrote it as the official theme for Apex Wrestling, but it goes way deeper than just the ring. It’s about rising from darkness, reclaiming your voice, and standing tall in a world built to knock you down.
Sonically, it’s loaded with heavy riffs, anthemic choruses, and a mid-tempo bounce that builds into an explosive pit moment live.
We wrote and produced it like pros with a full blueprint, real hooks, and cinematic depth. It’s a statement piece for what’s coming next from Fatal Switch.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
FATAL SWITCH: They can expect me to mosh with them. No seriously that’s a thing and it does happen mid song sometimes. Lots of energy as well. We definitely bring it live and play the album live even better than the record at times. We have truly deconstructed the songs and added different parts to them so that they are a version of their own that you can only hear if you attend one of our shows.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
FATAL SWITCH: I see us heading into a crazy adventure trying to continually push the envelope of our sound and make many more connections with industry leaders and fans. 5 years can go fast so we have a lot work to do! And in the meantime, we will continue to blend hip hop and metal in completely new ways, so it’s hard to say where exactly our songs will land but we promise to keep it interesting and entertaining!
During a recent interview with Rock News Weekly, 3 Inches Of Blood guitarist Shane Clark confirmed that the band are planning to work on new music. However, they intend to “take [their] time with it” and “not rush it.”
Clark said the following about the band’s plans:
“We’re gonna keep playing some fly-in gigs, but for the rest of the year we’re just gonna write songs and kind of approach it the same way we approached getting back together. And that’s just write some songs, see if it works. We’re not gonna release stuff that we don’t think is up to snuff. So we’re just gonna sort of take our time with it, not rush it. — not be, like, ‘Oh my God. We’ve gotta keep this momentum going.’”
He continued when asked if the band are still signed to Roadrunner Records:
“No… After ‘Fire Up The Blades’ — so this is, I wanna say, 2008 — they wanted to re-negotiate our contract into a deal we were not into at all. Basically, long story short, we asked them, like, ‘If we don’t take this new contract, what’s the deal?’ They’re, like, ‘Well, we’re gonna have to drop you.’ And we were, like, ‘Fucking right. Let’s say no. Then we’ll get dropped.’ And then we had a really successful year being label-less. We toured Europe with EXODUS that year and had a really good, lucrative year. And then we got signed to Century Media. Century Media was really good, and we’re technically still on Century Media. So whatever we decide to do, they have the option to release it for us.”
He also added the following when asked about formats for the release:
“We don’t know if we’re gonna do an album or a couple of singles. The landscape’s different… It’s super up in the air. I’m 50 years old, so I remember when you’re budgeted for one CD every two weeks on a paycheck, and it’s, like, you listen to the whole damn thing, even if you don’t really like it. I don’t know a whole lot of young people, but I’m not convinced that people listen to the back end of a record anymore — unless you’re a diehard. If it’s OBITUARY or — name your favorite band here — of course I’m gonna listen to the whole damn thing. But when you’re garnering new fans, the musical landscape, how people consume music, it’s singles. It’s kind of back to the ’50s. I think it’s THE BEATLES that started releasing [full-length] records.”
