• Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Neverskin

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Neverskin.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

NEVERSKIN: Well, Neverskin is a reunion of musicians who haven’t really hung out, let alone made music, for the last 20 years. We used to play together in our band Ambiossis back in the early ‘00s’.

Long story short: I went for a run last year (around May 2025). An Ambiossis song popped up on my Spotify, and I wondered how Remy was doing. I reached out, we reconnected, and, bingo bango, here we are, a year later, working on our fourth single. 🙂

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

NEVERSKIN: For me personally, I got interested in singing because of Daniel Johns from Silverchair. The way that band conveyed emotion and the impressive control they had in relaying those feelings vocally is what grabbed me most. I wanted to find my way to pour emotion into both my vocals and lyrics.

In general, bands such as Taproot, Korn, Deftones, and Sevendust guided us in our earlier years. Then, acts like Memphis May Fire, Like Moths to Flames, Architects, Finch, I See Stars, and Bad Omens continued that trend. Nothing but respect for all artists who create.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

NEVERSKIN: Our latest release is titled ‘Time’.

The reason to check out this track, and our others, is that we don’t stick to a genre box. You’ll hear a nu-metal bassline mixed with whatever stuck to the wall that day: opera vocals, electronic beats, scratches, screams, or layered melodic vocals. We even threw in a bridge with Eastern vibes. We make what we want, not what some industry standard dictates. It’s a mix that feels very 2026, but with that gritty edge that most modern mixes seem to be missing nowadays.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

NEVERSKIN: We’re not playing live (yet). We’ve released 3 singles to date and are working on releasing a fourth. Going live is something that is asked a lot and something we keep in mind. With enough ammo and interest from outside, it is something we would consider for the future.

The vibe we always went for in the past is that ‘live experience’ we always craved when we went somewhere. I used to do flips on stage and jump in the pit during the last song of our playlist to party out with our fans.

I am 40+ now, so hell, who knows, maybe I’ll be performing from behind a stroller?
Just kidding, but we’d definitely bring that same intensity back to the stage.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

NEVERSKIN: That is difficult to say. Starting up something when you’re not 20 anymore with the ambition to ‘take over the world’ with your music is different. We work, we have families, and with that, a limited amount of time. Apart from that, we are very critical of what we release. We scrapped more songs than we released.

We are very passionate about making music. We do solo composing and producing just for the love of the game, so the passion is still there, maybe more than ever before. There are a lot of great bands with great music and they are all vying for the same spot on the same socials and the same media. We are featured here now, but will be replaced by others tomorrow, next week, etc. It is and always has been a dog-eat-dog world, with the added charm of having a more ‘pay-to-play’ structured industry.

All we hope for is for our music to be heard by people, preferably as many as possible. Love it, hate it, fine by us, that’s what music is, just listen and we are utterly happy.

Do we secretly aspire to still ‘make it big’? Maybe, but realism plays a big part in that debate 🙂

We hope you enjoyed our ramblings. Feel free to check out our music and reach out to us on our socials!

  • Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda On “Unshatter” Documentary: “We’re Very Excited About It”

During an interview with BBC News, Linkin Park vocalist, guitarist, etc. Mike Shinoda discussed the band’s upcoming documentary “Unshatter.” That film focuses on the band’s reunion following the death of frontman Chester Bennington. The group made their return in 2024 with new singer Emily Armstrong and new drummer Colin Brittain.

    Shinoda said the following:

“We have a documentary coming out called ‘Unshatter’. I feel like it’s just been in the ether. Even before Chester passed away, it was kind of Joe [Hahn] being a filmmaker. He always wanted to do something that kind of explained our universe to people. And then after Chester passed, everything was just, like… We didn’t even think we had a band anymore, so everything just kind of went away. And as things started to come back together, and we met Colin, and we met Emily, and we started to make music and the album became a reality, we were filming things. And eventually, we realized that not only do a lot of people not understand the band’s culture — not us, just us, but the community around Linkin Park. But they and the people inside that bubble and the people outside, they wanna know, like, how did you pick up the pieces after this tragedy and losing your friend and co-founder of this thing that we spent 20 years with? How do you go from that to Wembley? How do you go from that to… Our [‘From Zero’] album-launch show was in São Paulo. It was one of the most celebratory, emotional moments of our lives. So, thankfully, we had the good sense to have some cameras rolling during the whole time.”

    He also added:

“Don’t think reality TV. It’s literally our friend Mark [who did most of the filming]. It’s one guy. We hang out with him all the time. So we had Mark there, and we were just recording things and filming things just so we had it, and that became ‘Unshatter’. And so more info will come out soon, but we’re very excited about it. I’m really proud of Joe, and I think it kind of tells the story of the past — I don’t know — three, four years or so pretty well.”

  • Cabal Give Out Free Merch During Budapest Show To Protest Merch Cuts

Cabal decided to throw out some free merch during their June 17 show at Analog Music Hall in Budapest, Hungary. The move was part of a protest against the venue’s significant merch cuts.

    The group commented:

“Making money as a stupid little metal band is pretty damn hard, merch sales is basically the only way we make any profit, it’s our bread and butter and what keeps the lights on. But due to a pretty wild merch cut at tonights show we won’t be selling any merchandise, with the percentage we would have to pay, we could just as well give the merch away for free, so we will be doing just that, by throwing some free stuff out to you all from stage tonight.

If there’s some specific stuff in certain sizes you were hoping to get, we do apologize, but it makes no sense for us to take any of your money unless it goes directly into keeping our silly little band going.”
