  • Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi Honored During 2026 Lord Mayor Awards In Birmingham

    Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and Birmingham City Football Club chairman Tom Wagner were honored during this year’s Lord Mayor Awards in Birmingham, UK. The duo were recognized by Lord Mayor Zafar Iqbal MBE at the Council’s annual general meeting.

    Zafar Iqbal MBE commented:

    “The Lord Mayor’s Awards recognize the very best of Birmingham, individuals and organizations who have shown exceptional service to Birmingham and its people.

    From global icons like Tony Iommi and Tom Wagner to those working tirelessly in our communities, each award winner has played a vital role in shaping the Birmingham we all love, strengthening our communities, and enhancing its reputation on the national and international stage.

    It is wonderful to celebrate their achievements and thank them for the impact they continue to have on our great city.”

    Iommi added:

  • “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear” Documentary To Receive World Premiere At Tribeca Festival

    A new documentary focusing on Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is set to premiere at Spring Studios in New York City as part of the Tribeca Festival. The film is titled “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear” and it will screen on June 13 at 8 p.m. EST. The event will also include a special conversation with Barker.

    Following the premiere, the documentary will receive a streaming release on August 13. It will be available through Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

    Here’s a synopsis for the film:

    “After surviving a devastating plane crash that nearly took his life, legendary and electrifying drummer Travis Barker embarks on a raw and redemptive journey. Once a trash collector in Laguna Beach, his life changed when he stepped in as a replacement for Blink-182’s drummer — igniting a meteoric rise that would make him the driving pulse of a generation.   • Butcher Babies’ Heidi Shepherd Responds To Controversy Regarding Joke AI Video

    Earlier today (May 18) Butcher Babies released a new song titled “Blame It On The Wind.” The group initially planned to debut the song live at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, OH, but their set was cancelled due to weather. As such, the band decided to post an AI-generated video to poke fun at the situation. However, they have since been flooded with comments from fans opposed to the use of AI.

    Frontwoman Heidi Shepherd had the following to say about the controversy:

    “As you can see here, I posted this very obviously AI video this morning as an obvious joke, like it says in the caption, which I guess people don’t read captions anymore. Yes, uh, if you don’t know, our set was unfortunately but understandably cut at Sonic Temple this past weekend because of lightning, and it was raining cats and dogs, not these cows and houses, as you see here. And look at all these comments of all these people who don’t read captions, that it was so obviously a joke, making light of the fact that we got cut because it was raining so bad.

    Yes, we were gonna debut a new song, and that song did come out today. So by the way, hey, new song out, so thanks for, uh, pushing this video into other people’s algorithms. Yeah, the real music video, the real music video comes out next week. This is not a music video.

    This was a joke, like it says in the caption, which nobody decided to read. So here I am defending a joke, and I guess I should know better. It’s not like I’m new to the internet. But for some reason, um, jokes don’t work here.

    So anyway, go enjoy the new song. We went ahead and redid it for your viewing pleasure. Don’t be mad.”
